Small form factor, fast charging, bright screen with high ppi, telephoto lens, good macro shots, non Samsung. Perfect for me! Unfortunately not available in the USA, so I ordered from India on ebay. Only $350usd.
You forgot to put more emphasis on the fact that it's also IP68 dust and water protected just like the big players. It even has MIL-STD 810H toughness certified and also wireless charging (15W) which is unheard of in this price range. Using this currently and I am thoroughly impressed. So much for so less 💵 I have had many people asking what phone im using after seeing the pictures I post (I hv to agree with you... pictures are a little high on the processing and not the most natural but extremely pleasant and popping for screens and social media.) The processor is not the best out there but surprisingly it runs so cool even after 45 mins of heavy gaming.
Bought this recently and i must say I'm impressed with the cameras! My only gripe is I need to out the settings to medium or low when playing intensive games.
Very good review, thanks for making this! I'm shopping for new smartphone, to replace my old and dying Pixel 4a (4G). I already bought a Pixel 8 couple of weeks ago, but I was somewhat disappointed with it... It's not very compact, it's slippery as crazy to hold and the final nail in the coffin was the call quality: every time I spoke on the phone, the recipient had hard time comprehending me. I had to send the Pixel 8 back to the shop. So, now I'm pitting this Edge 50 Neo against Pixel 8a. The 8a has probably better camera, and it's about 100€ cheaper at the moment in my country, but it's also a bit too bulky for my liking and I fear the microphone issue may repeat in that model too, as it's mostly using same chipset as the standard 8. How does the call quality fare in this Edge 50 Neo? And how's the vibration? I could hardy feel it in Pixel 8 if I had the device in my pocket.
I have to admit that I don't actually make many phone calls, so I can't really answer your question. The vibration motor on the other hand is very good!
Does it play music well? I was thinking mostly of windows media player files but also i Phone/ i Tunes music files now as someone mentioned they were having issues with vid files he transferred from his i phone? thinking of buying one so super curious about the WMP files after a review of a Samsung I was thinking of buying said it wouldn't play WMP files. Thanks 🙂
The 12gb of ram helps great 9 times out 10 a phone lags because of ram limitations the SoC needs to be diabolically bad for it to lag out regularly with 12gb of ram.
Also if they increase L1 Cache that would also help but doesn't get the coverage they do for PC CPU/SoC Also always keep 12 to 24gb of Storage Free for App OS and Browser Data Cache less than 12GB it lags regardless of RAM or SoC
I bought this phone! But the issue that bothers me the most is the videos that I imported from my iphone, doesn't matter which player I use to play those videos it has extreme stuttering or frame drop in those videos! Have anyone experienced this issue?

I really wanted to like this phone.. and I did.. until I ran into the awful camera software! The great Sony sensor takes very good pictures, BUT.. Motorola decided to force upon us their "auto-enhancement" process which cannot be turned off. For me, it practically ruins every picture I take. For a moment, I can see the original picture looking fantastic, and it immediately applies post-processing over-saturating colors (subdued red turns out looking bright orange!), increasing contrast, highlights and shadows... the picture is totally ruined for me! Not giving the user the option to chose whether to use post-processing or not is not very nice of them... The options to disable SHot Optimisation and Auto HDR (which are still present in the older G84 I also own) are no longer there in the camera Settings menu. I've reluctantly returned the phone...
@@DavisFangTech I don't think it has anything to do with the price range.. how does the price explain forcing you to accept automatic processing? Does it cost extra to allow the user to disable it?
@@Crazyclutch89 No, you can't. I'm not talking about that icon in the camera main screen / viewfinder, that doesn't do much, there is still postprocessing and AI "optimisation" even if you toggle that to Natural. I'm talking about the options in the Setting menu (the 'gear icon' menu) that should take you to Auto HDR (On/Off), Shot or Scene Optimisation (On/Off) - these are not there anymore, while they still are on my older G84.
No phone is perfect, apple and samsung flagships are almost there, but never came top, same here, positive: good android skin, nice compact build sleek design, best display for the money, Negative: Average speakers, poor camera
Was that a 3G network phone? I got that issues with a shitty 3G phone and telsa/ aldi turning their 3G network off and now my shitty phone don't work no more. Thought I might as well upgrade a bit🤷♂😂
But it's still in completion because display helps to preserve battery and at that price range only moto providing 15w wireless charger that is flagship features. So if plan is to to binge show wireless charging stand will be awesome
That's just complaining about needing to charge your powerbank less often on a phone that lasts about 70% longer than the S23fe. Battery life is around average 5200mah phone.
well you obviously did not used 40 neo. It would be second Motorola you can recommend. I amusing 40 neoo almost a year and I work in a copper mine. It fell off numerous times, wet, moisture, dust. It works as a first day.

Camera isn't poor, that's the best in class. But the camera comes with the worst in class software. Of course you can bypass is by installing better third party software on it as you have the good hardware. If it were the other way around you would have no means of improving it.

Agreed there, not the best for gamers, but the performance is good enough for other activities
You can use pro mode and put it on raw+jpg and it looks more natural

This one or the Razr 40? 🎉
Definitely the 50 if you can afford it!

Yes
