Wow, I love foreigners who really act like locals when traveling around Manila. I hope many foreigners do this to experience the stressful way of commuting in the country before it becomes comfortable in the future, so they can experience the improvement for themselves and appreciate the development in the country even more.
Thank you for appreciation of diverse metro manila, our pleasure to hear positive views but of course many areas still needs improvement, wish you can stay longer to visit other part or Island of the Philippines, take care and enjoy guys!
Thank you for correctly calling it METRO Manila -- which is actually the old name of NCR, but is still practically correct. Pls help spread correct info esp nowadays that more foreigners are visiting our country. We do not want them to feel duped when they come here for paying a small fortune to airport taxi drivers due to honest misunderstanding. Imagine they arrive at airport, tell taxi "Manila", so taxi goes to Quiapo but only then realize they actually wanted to go to BGC in Taguig which is practically at the other side of the region.
Makati is empty right now because of the long weekend holiday because June 12, Monday, is the Philippines’ independence day. A lot of them spent their holiday here in Baguio City. Traffic is intense here right now.

Not exactly. Manila, Makati and Taguig are all independent cities by themselves. However, they are all part of "Metro Manila" which is the very old (but still popular) name of the National Capital Region (NCR) which, in turn, is a formally defined geopolitical region in Luzon. There are other cities within NCR such as Pasay, Mandaluyong, Marikina etc. Altho the "C" in BGC is "city", BGC is not actually a city by our law definition. You are correct that BGC is only a financial hub / business district within Taguig City, NCR.

I don't normally recommend my friends to stay long in Manila unless there's specific places they're interested in. Metro Manila is a city of contrast, from the very high end to the very slummy areas, diffcult to navigate without organized public transit. Although I am Filipino by birth, born in an old district, I've lost any love for the city. But places to visit some you've done, Intramuros, Luneta/Rizal Park (and the excellent National Museums!), Plaza Bonifacio/Kartilya, Corregidor island (not sure if the ferries are running now), American Memorial Cemetery in BGC, Ayala Museum in Makati, of course, the malls, MOA in particular. I saw your video with your friend from Yakutia. Very interesting to find a Yakut in Manila I had followed a vlog, rural life in Siberia (I think), it was about living in Yakutia. Very nice in the summer but uber cold in the winter, no indoor plumbing. Your friend had a very interesting observation, in Pilipino or other languages, there is NO gender, and everything is about context! There will be no debate about gender pronouns in the Philippines. Cheers. You and Dennis enjoy your adventure.

Welcome to the Philippines. I'm your new subscriber from Metro Manila. wish you have tried to visit Manila ocean park, Luneta park, Intramuros and Mall Of Asia they are pretty close to each other
Don't forget to visit BGC, Eastwood city and all over Manila and Luzon before going south. Enjoy your stay.

@@lukasloh2509 God bless.
Metro Manila (which is NCR for a long time now).
In legaspi village in one of condo highrise you can rent one unit with one bedroom for 23k pesos a month, according one foreign blogger who use to occupy one.
Should we stay in BGC or the Makati area as a tourist from California? Where is it more convenient in terms of walk-able shopping and restaurants?
It's almost the same😊
I’d choose BGC
I think thats the Russian guy across the street standing at 6:18 . He is also a vlogger.
The bridge is called elevated walkways
On a Sunday , it's weekend in the Philippines so there's no office work and schools are also closed . Catholic Churches are open during mass times
