What is SEALCOATING and why should I do it?
1. Sealcoating protects and prolongs the life expectancy of asphalt pavement by filling surface damage and providing a protective layer to keep out damaging UV rays, vehicle fluids, and water.
2. The low cost of regular sealcoating can save you money in the long run. A properly maintained and sealed asphalt surface has an extended lifetime and reduces long-term repair costs.
3. With exposure to the elements, asphalt pavement over time becomes faded in appearance. A fresh sealcoat application enhances the appearance of asphalt, making it look and wear like new.
4. Sealcoating is typically done using one of two application methods: spray or squeegee/brush.
5. Sealcoating accelerates the melting process of snow and ice on pavement surfaces. This helps to protect against water penetration, rain, frost and snow damage.
6. To correctly complete the sealcoating process, the air and pavement temperature is recommended to be at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit for the duration of the application and for eight hours following the application.
7. Prior to pavement sealing, the asphalt surface should be cleared of all dirt and debris. In addition, minor repairs, like potholes and cracks, should be filled and vehicle fluids, like oil, should be properly removed.

Whenever I'm stressed, this is the channel for me. Lowers my blood pressure by many points. So relaxing, like watching fish in a fish tank. Another super job. That's a crazy long driveway. Good clients I'm sure.
Thanks Pat. This comment goes straight to the top. Thanks for the support. 🇺🇸
Agree oddly enough this is very satisfying and relaxing to watch.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE how much does a driveway like that typically cost for this?
$800
i guess some of us guys just like to put in the work, and when we see these types of videos they're actually relaxing for us? idk
One of my favorite parts is timing the blob and watching you show up to brush it away before it gets out of control. Really fun to watch.
Blob control, very tricky to control 🤣🤣
I just found this video so satisfying to watch, you two guys did a great job 👏
Glad you enjoyed it!
All I needed was to watch a stranger’s drive way get sealcoated today… I found a new way to happiness.
One’s got to be careful though, it does not end at sealcoating; I’m watching people’s pools get cleaned, gardens mowed now and I am so happy everywhere in the world is all nice and tidy in the end.
Guys, jokes aside, your videos are hypnotic and what is admired mostly is a job perfectly done. Keep up the good work.
And if I ever get a house with a driveway, I know who to call now.
You should get a drone so we can see it from overhead, when finished.
If the channel keeps on growing the way that is has been, I’ll be able to hire someone to film us full time.
man i was thinking the exact same thing... i was thinking it would be a crime to finish this youtube video without doing a drone shot before and after flying down the driveway
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE drone with follow me feature, handful of batteries and a car charger... 4K footage for good measure :D
always assumed with now what i can see are brushes to be silicon/rubber blades.
what a beautiful property that was and awesome job lads 👏👏👏 so calming to watch.
What a long job, and the property is amazingly beautiful!! I love watching your videos!!
Thanks E
My gosh you guys are so good at what you do. I also love when you give us the "peace" sign at the end as you are taping off the driveway. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! 😍
the PEACE Hand Sign is done with the PALM toward the signer.
what he gave is considered a rude gesture, believed to hark back to the days of archery, where the English archers would make that sign to the French, captured English Archers would have those two fingers cut off.
@@amandagardner565 yep..... F - off. ( not you lol the gesture )
@@amandagardner565 they'd have those fingers cut off so they couldn't shoot a bow and arrow no?
@@limpstimpy9203 correct.
A trained archer could shoot 12 arrows a minute, but some sources say that the most skilled archers could fire twice this number. The arrow could wound at 250 yards, kill at 100 yards and penetrate armor at 60 yards. At the battle of Agincourt (1415), 1,000 arrows were fired every second.
when the flintlock gun was invented it was a step back in many ways.
excellent work guys, was actually a pleasure to watch, hope you got paid big bucks
You know it 😎
Why is this so fun to watch?
I'm planning on doing it to my driveway (first time)---you guys make it look so easy, although I'm sure it's harder than it looks--but I kind of can't wait to do it!
Love when he chucks up the deuce While he is putting up the yellow tape at the end… JOB DONE!!!!! Peace out ✌️
Haha thanks
This video was so helpful for me. I was able to think super clearly while watching. Also reading the comments was encouraging.. your fan based is great.
We have a pretty cool group here. Im looking forward to season 3 in May. We have some great things on the horizon.
Needed a drone shot going along the entire driveway.
Great video 👍
This was before I had my drone.
what precision of coating with 1/8 inch of sealcoat...3x to even out and 2x finishing brush...wow to know exactly how to spread n then how much pressure to make sure the sealcoat covers the surface almost with same concentration...4 legs and 4 hands in harmony...its mesmerizing to watch
Thank you. I appreciate the kind words.
I know nothing about seal coating; haven't ever really thought about seal coating, but I watched both videos, Pt 1 & Pt 2 and found them enjoyable and oddly satisfying....kind of like adult coloring, I guess...?
Exactly
To work with someone and not have to speak is a wonderful thing. Perfect two part harmony. "priceless"
Exactly. We don’t NEED to speak. We usually save the chit-chat for the truck.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE You're a good man!
I LOVE these videos. They please me. I find them very satisfying. The wife loves them too!
Guys this is the first time I am seeing it brushed in. Great 👍 job and wonderful videos
love your touch with the blower...you have to twirl in a circular motion to blow away the leaves just like the landscapers do. Your spacing and allowing the tar to puddle is really precise... no wasted materials. What happen to the leftover tar in the tank - can they be heated for the next job. Sure hate to see them toss out...
This channel just rocks. Hands down. I enjoy & respect your work. The music is always on point & matches the effort you always put in. Props form Sydney Australia. 🇦🇺🤘💪.
Nice work, I relaxed watching you boys work your asses off!
There was something really gratifying watching you guys doing that job, the length of the drive was incredible and the finish was just like a newly laid drive, nice job well done 👍
100k is on the way - keep these videos coming!
God damn it, Andru! Now I know that where all my tasty Italian dark choco-cola sludge has gone!! You'll have to pay for it now, i bet ya I'm coming for y'all 😂😂!!
Wow, so impressive. Fantastic job.
Yes sir enjoying another video on my day off seems like a fun job you guys are out side cool trails like this good times good vibes wish you the best ....or golf ⛳ pathways whatever wherever that is looks ✌️ peaceful 😁
Omh that driveway is LOOOOOONG!! They be RICH RICH
yup 😂
That was so satisfying to watch
Good work. Nice job. Impressive attention to detail with those brushes... certainly avoids the overspray on unintended objects that results from use of a sealant sprayer.
This is so satisfying
Thanks Elizabeth. New videos will be out in May.
Kind of want to see you drive the entire driveway when finished curing if possible.
Love it!! You have got to have stamina for this job!! Thank for another successful job well done!
This one was tough. I was leaving for my vacation right after this job so that was very motivating. 😎
Now that’s a driveway! Had to subscribe after that video you make it look easy!
👍👍
I miss the first person point of view! I like to see the tar getting pushed around from your point of view! Love your videos.
I second this opinion!! That's my favorite also.
Even better would be BPOV - broom point of view. Attach your camera to the broomstick.
the more i go through these comments the more i think what a bunch of weirdos we all are lmao
Beautiful work my friend
Blue shirt guy the real MVP
AMAZING WORKERS AND JOB......
you guys work real well together
He’s a great sealer
Man a really long driveway getting seal coated is super satisfying
I think I saw a wolf sealer 🐺
You rock bro
Probably the most relaxing channel on RUclips
Thanks Sam. Hopefully we can get to 100k in a few years.
Excellent and excellent work, thank you. Greetings.
Ha, ha......another great vid. Loved the slow-mo beginning with the look of the mask and brush spin. Cool And peace sign at the end. Just relaxing to watch the work being done. Always looks smooth.
Like they say…….there is a skill to most things. Great job. I concur with suggestion of a drone shot at the end.
Awesome video👍
I got stressed when you did the edge ....
Too close bro you gonna pick up dirt and debris😮😮😮 lol
Awesome man. Awesome !!!!
Your Work is amazing. Dam good job. One suggestion. On big job like that. It would have been cool to use a Drone and give a photo shoot before and after the job was done, Just a thought. You do beautiful work. keep the mission alive!
I agree. I didn't have a drone back then but ive used the one I have now on a few videos. ruclips.net/video/3QncJb7a4D8/видео.html
A fabulous video as always. However I'm a bit bummed out that we didn't get to hear the sound of that spray nozzle being dragged on the blacktop. I know it's odd but that sound is very pleasing on some weird level. Love it. Great job...... enough said. Peace out ✌️
I will put that in the next video.
It's called ASMR, and I bet many others will appreciate it too. Audio sensory mnemonic response. Careful, ASMR videos are a huge rabbit hole to go down!
that said, I love the sound the brush making when pushing the big puddles around too, same soothing sounds, lol!!
asmr is the new big hot thing lol
Can you do an update video of a job you've previously done? For example, a 6 month or 1 year update? I've seen sealcoats that look amazing when first applied and then turned into absolute garbage (cracks everywhere) so I'm curious to see the difference after a good amount of time has passed. Also what kind of seal coat do you use? I'm assuming it must be oil based. Thanks.
It's asphalt emulsion sealer. It's not oil based
Oddly satisfying to watch.
thanks for watching
You guys do a great job!
I'm trying to get rid of a migraine. Watching this is soothing and takes my mind away from my body. Ahhh
I’m glad I could help Jennifer. Thanks for watching. Migraines are the worst, I know how you feel.
AWESOME!!!!!!
Great!
Thank you
What a beautiful job again. You two are in sync with each other. It was good seeing you two dance flawlessly around other!
That drive is massive! What is the area of the drive?
About a half mile total
Awesome!
Looks good ,, doing a drive now by broom 72 thousand Square it's a Dandy,, weather is a factor ,, Best Wishes
Where?
Damn
That looks like a helluva job
Love the music, perfect
Well done, again.
Thanks Noah. I love the way these videos turned out.
What an amazing driveway/entrance to your home.
That’s property was incredible. The owners were really nice people too.
@@SEALCOATINGISLIFE probably because they can AFFORD to be nice....lol
nice! hope they were on vacation bc if they gotta wait a couple days to drive on it, thats a long walk home.... nice property!
I think they had a helicopter 🚁 in the back.
That is so satisfying to watch!!
Thanks for watching Heather
Awesome job!!!
Thank you!!!
Good job on this one guys fantastic!!👍
Thanks Matt. This was the perfect job.
Nice! New video!!💪💪
Good job!
Omg, that was so fun and satisfying to watch! I need my driveway sealed but I’m afraid to get a estimate because I know they will charge me thousands of dollars for the short driveway I have.
Do it yourself . It don’t cost that much at all . Pour it in and spread it as seen here . Save yer loot
All estimates should be free (our estimates are). Get as many as you can. If you don’t like their prices then maybe try to do it yourself.
Perfect 👍
Thanks Nick
Wow that's truly a neverending driveway 🤣😂 country livin 😏 but atleast the scenery was beautiful ☺️
best house ever
The human brain is a wonderful thing. If I see dust in a video my throat closes up, smoke I smell it, near the end of this video there was a hot tarry smell. I smell grass on a video, and the sea, no, wait, I live next to the sea. The day after 9/11 I got to work noticing the sky was empty yet all day I smelled aviation fuel. At 120ish miles from Manhattan there is a tiny tiny chance the smoke could have reached us but not fill up a huge building with 20 separate ventilation systems. The anxiety and perceived smoke smell was enough to send me home. Another memory of that day was people wearing ‘we survived the Twin Towers’ t-shirts.
Been waiting for this!
WOW, that one tired me out.
good job guys👍👍👍
thanks
Vaya fue un muy buen tramo, pero quedó super resalta más el camino
WOW what a drive...
you could colour mine with a crayon, it's the size of a postage stamp.
I'm not jealous really I'm not..... 😢 😭
Oddly satisfying
When RUclips's algorythm throws you a curveball, and you enjoyed it!!
I love hearing that. Thank u
Best vid yet 🙏
Nice job guys!
Awsome!
Just still stunned that your partner was golfing...

99.999% satisfaction.

Theres nothing wrong with being a small business owner.
thx for upload. well prodused.
Thank you
you guys are great keep it up 😊
Thanks Rebecca
Who woulda thunk… peaceful viewing
You should do a video where you show how to clean your tools and stuff.
Also describe the tools, what they are, what they do and what sort of sealant you use (And why its brown and not black)
It comes out brown and dries jet black
I will before the end of the season.
i wanna do this now...your attention to detail.. love it. whats the winter gig like? lol
Traveling
Good job
Super
