Not at all excusing/defending his behavior during his time on the show, it’s just nice to see that rather than feeling sorry for himself after his stint on the show, he bit down on his mouth piece, got his shit together, and made it to some of the biggest stages in his respected martial arts. @@jonjohnson1978. Because I'm a grown adult I can function normally even in the presence of people I dislike. I'm sorry you like BJ Penn and this season exposed him the same way TUF exposed Ronda as being a childish bully. Want to know how BJ got easy passes and special treatment? Feel free to name any other fighter that was able to go 1-9-1 in the UFC and somehow keep a job, that include a 7 fight losing streak.
@@swamp9136 I'm sure you could...but then for contedt have you had to be civil to anyone after they beat you in a fight?.........
Andrei arlovski during an 11 fight run had 8 losses, 2 wins and 1 NC so BJ is not alone....though him not being released is irrelevant to the topic at hand...frankly they both should of been given it's 3 losses and your done
The show showed penn wasnt great to pulver....he was fine towards everyone else...ronda was horrific to every opponent.....not the same at all
@@jonjohnson1978. Yes I did. I lost my second MMA fight to a guy I absolutely hated and we ended up being friends years later when we both fought on a regional card and we were the out of Towners so we ended up cornering eachother.
So when I say BJ could have been way more adult about it, I speak from experience. There is a brotherhood in combat. To where even if you don't like someone you still respect them for the fact they do something most do not. People who have never fought often don't understand that concept
@@swamp9136 I'll take u at your word that you have...BJ felt differently, now for clarity, the 'raise your hand' and all the stuff on the show if u have an issue with that it's your opinion, I don't and neither you nor I can tell someone else how to behave however, him holding onto the choke for that extra second was inexcusable

Haha. He was the biggest asshole. Jens and his team gave him a second chance and Wang was hesitant to take it??? That's not a warrior mentality.
Andy Wang is the hardest hitting 155 pounder in the world, BJ gets tko’d, when Andy gets knocked out he doesn’t fucking move
😂
When was this ?
At 8-9, he’s not hitting hard enough!
😂

Hes a warrior
Man when I see him I don't see a punk. I say, "there's a warrior". Greatest fighter of all time
He ain't no punk though
Who says? That’s not the way I remember him, I just remember this video and how ungrateful he was.

About a year after all of this, Wang began working his way up through the professional Jiu-Jitsu scene for several years before scoring the opportunity to compete at ADCC 2013. He even had a really solid, competitive match with Kron Gracie on a pro Jiu-Jitsu stage in 2009 I believe and then faced him again at the ADCC 2013. Not at all excusing/defending his behavior during his time on the show, it’s just nice to see that rather than feeling sorry for himself after his stint on the show, he bit down on his mouth piece, got his shit together, and made it to some of the biggest stages in his respected martial arts. Needless to say, he grew so much from his time on the show.
Here’s his first match with Kron Gracie - ruclips.net/video/zcaSZF1wq5A/видео.html
"Do I have a choice?"
Yeah, you either go Team Pulver or you go the f*&k home right now
I saw a guy walking down the street and I thought to myself: Man, that guy looks like a warrior and then I realized it was Andy Wang!
I saw him crying on the sidewalk, too, that day!
"Andy Wang's a nice guy no way"
Andy Wang: **throws an offer in Pulver team's face that no fighter ever got**
During the fighter selections, BJ tried to get under Jens' skin by asking all the fighters who want to be on Penn's team and have nothing to do with Team Pulver to raise their hands. He ended up with Gabe Ruediger, kicked off the show for missing weight, Andy Wang, kicked off the team by BJ, Lobsta kicked off the show for being a dick, Noah who was kicked off the show for fighting in the house. lol
@VS Yeah, man. Like 10 out of 16 fighters raised their hands. Its just comical to me, how that ended up in him having a team like with 3 people getting kicked off the show lol
@@ryanclahane6318 and the two finalists were of Team Pulver, but to be fair BJ did not give a fuck about being a mentor in that season he spent the whole season being an ass as he was still salty AF because Pulver beat him once before.

"You mean I have no say in the matter?" Dana: "YEA"
Manny Gamburyan is a class act too, love how he completely changed his tune as soon as he found out that it was Wang that needed to come on the team! :D

Jens Pulver was the best coach they ever had on TUF.

Dana- “No I don’t know what your ducking saying at all.”
This season was great! You had the arrival of Nate Diaz, Joe Lauzon being in this season even though he beat one of the coaches already (Pulver), the Gabe Ruediger weight fiasco before his first fight was great TV, even when Andy Wang cried after losing, that was good.
TUF 5 is one of the GOAT seasons
J-Lau!
To me it was the best too, fun, great fights and gave the UFC a lot of solid fighters for years, Nate, Lauzon, Cole Miller, Wiman, Manny, Maynard etc; Jens Pulver was a pretty cool dude and nice mentor BJ was an asshole most of the time though, so it was sad seeing him beat Pulver in the finale, man great season lot of fond memories.
Don't forget the street fight that got those two guys kicked off
I always felt Jens should start his own podcast. He's so articulate and inspirational, it's crazy this guy's not involved with the sport in some shape or form.
