- There's a new contender for a cheap starter 3D printer for the kids. Weedo has engineered a pretty little 3D printer with an attractive price an a lot of great features. But is it worth it? Well, this printer gets really, really close.

"I'm in." 3DPP, the hacker. :) Seems like a nice little printer with some potential.
I just got a flashforge and so im watching your content and your videos are really entertaining and informative.
love your content! thank you
I'm new to 3d Printing. Fairly computer competent and very mechanically competent.
I want to make parts for the RC Crawling Hobby and others. First small scale pieces, but my goal is to be able to design body panels as well as interior panels in fullscale detail to create a fully operational piece, with opening doors, roll down windows, opening trunks and hoods, working retracting ragtops, etc. A 3d Printer will make these things possible, but that is where I am clueless. So most items will be not too large, but body panels, etc. will get pretty big, especially if I make 1/8th scale items and larger, which I would like to do for 1/5th scale F1 Rcs.
Anyways, that is the basic scope of my desired outcome.
So which 3D Printers would you recommend? Some pieces may be as large as 24 inches in length. I could make them 2 piece to go together which his something I already considered, however, if I could, doing them one piece would be preferable.
Looking forward to your suggestions. Also, I am not opposed to using 2 machines, one for the large items and one for the smaller items, where I could run the large one doubling out parts when not printing a large item.
Lastly, I would like to print in high strength product. Nylon, Nylon/CF CF, or other similar tough products.
Thank for any info tips and direction you may be able to point me in.
you can search weedo f152s on amazon, this printer can print with Nylon /PC/ABS www.amazon.com/WEEDO-Industrial-Wiibuilder-Materials-F152S/dp/B081ZKTZMF/ref=sr_1_1?crid=6O1US1LSMON7&dchild=1&keywords=weedo+f152s&qid=1588987384&sprefix=WEEDO+F152S%2Caps%2C383&sr=8-1
Hi any plans to revisit this 3D printer? I see Weedo has released marlin source code/config files available.
Ooh, that's great news. Unfortunately, I no longer have this machine myself.
Very good video, one of your best yet.
This is the aladdininbox SkyCube in another Clark Kent level disguise 🤣 I remember first using the replicator 2 in high school, we’ve all come so much further since then
Can't say for sure, but it certainly looks similar.
can i use it on Ultimaker Cura 5.2.1 ?
Works for me!
I agree, there is so many ways to go with slicing, and it offers some flexibility when slicing various challenging prints. Why would someone limit that..Repetier has some WIFI features you can use, but believe its through the PC not directly with the 3D printer. Marlin is a great firmware also I feel. I still use that on all my own home-made 3D printers. Do you know of any better options? I would like to find something better if its out there. Also, what 3d modeling and slicers do you prefer? I still use the retired 123D to model and slice on Repetier with CURA.
Marlin is the only choice (basically) if you're going it on your own. it's either that or write your own, which some of these other systems have done.
I do all my modeling in Blender. I know, I'm a sucker for punishment, but it's actaully not that bad. i've put together a few tutorials if you want to learn.
Hold up how do you print those other things like a wizard in the reindeer I can only buy a few of them and I have the exact same one the Tina2
The reindeer came on the SD card. Not sure which wizard you're talking about, but if you search on Yeggi.com for the models you can probably find them.
@@3dpprofessor I have the same three printer but I didn't find a reindeer
@@westenjustice5681 If you do a search on yeggi you can find the models. Then slice them and print them yourself.
@@3dpprofessor I don't understand how
@@westenjustice5681 do you know how to slice and print your own models?
Is this machine capable of printing off fantasy/sci-fi miniatures to a reasonable standard?
Yeah, it should be capable of that.
@@3dpprofessor Thank you very much!
This isn't a super related question, but how long did it take to get the Kickstarter money after the campaign ended? 😂 Sorry but I was wondering since one of my friends told me it takes 2-4 weeks and I was wondering how you dealt with that.
Yeah, it took a while. I just didn't worry about it. When I saw that the money was collected I went ahead and delivered the rewards. I even did an revision to the files before the funds dropped.
But, you know that's something you can do when your delivery is completly digital and the funds aren't tied to production.
Is it a good deal to get it for 120$?
Yeah, I'd say so.
is your lav mic working? sounds like no
For some reason in this video the lav mic got some weird clipping which made it harder to listen to than... well, than what this ended up. I've ordered some new hardware that should address that in the future.
@@3dpprofessor ok, thought maybe the wrong source was selected
Must be mini printer week in the 3dprint world?... Angus at makers muse livestreamed one the other night too, get a haircut Angus!
Every computer can be hacked, some computers can only be hacked once...
6:20 oh boy...
YOU GOT RIPPED OFF JOE! On factory site the price I 149.00 usd.
Prices change over time.
Building a Marlin config for a printer from scratch can be rather tough, but it's very hardware-dependent. In my case the printer had a *board* that already had a configuration, folks in 3D Printing Discord helped me identify another printer with it that *was* present in Marlin.
So open it up. Post pictures. Someone may recognize the boards.
And browsing the source code I got the impression that many boards have pin layouts (pin-component correspondence) identical to RAMPS or ever so slightly different. Makes sense actually. It's a popular open-source design after all.
So all I had to do is describe mechanical specs of my printer in the config, post a pull request to Marlin and Scott aka tinkyhead on GitHub helped me get it to compile, because there was some breakage that wasn't mine. OK, and some of mine as well, I even tripped thermal runaway protection once 😅 With nothing heated up, but seeing the message was actually reassuring!
If you still have the Tina 2 printer and you need to make some room, send it here... Ben E. Brady 475 Westridge Rd, Martindale, TX 78655
I have the monoprice version, I can send gcode from wiibuilder directly to the printer via wifi from pc and it will start the print...That's useful to me?
You said you do have the Monoprice version and you can send gCode directly? That's great. I love that feature. Glad you're making it work.
I'd give it a try, but I just gave mine away to someone because, well, it still worked well.
Anyone have a Cura profile for an Easythreed Nano? The dumbed-down Cura it comes with is garbage...
The way I did this is to load up the dumbed-down version, open up the printer settings, Open up the new version of Cura, copy settings from one to the other, and see how it goes. You may discover a few settings you need to tweak, but it should work.
This printer looks identical to the Instone Easier 3D printer which is already about 2-3 years old. It works quite well but has a ridiculously simple interface....essentially just preloaded prints, an ability to unload filament and feedback while the printer is working, not much else. www.amazon.com/iNSTONE-Printer-Software-Filament-Desktop/dp/B072PR5YS8
Huh. That one had a dual nozzle version... and their example print is garbage.
Just buy the Ender 3 pro, it is about 25$ cheaper, and is superior in every single way.
In many way, but not in every way. It doesn't have auto level correction.
@@3dpprofessor I got mine 3 weeks ago, and I must say, the bed leveling is annoying. But, once you learn it, it becomes an easy, but still annoying task.
250 is way to much
BTw I expect with the wifi it uses some kind of ESP device instead of arduino.
Why would you want a domesticated home machine to be open source , the type of person to buy this machine would never even touch the firmware tbh or even know how to do it
I think the two young men I reviewed the TronXY 100 with a while back would love a cheap 3d printer they could use successfully for a while, then start hacking on.
Because companies like Weedo are uncapable of creating and maintaining a well working ecosystem in which they aim to lock their product.
Because its based on open source they are required to.
I am a potential customer even though I have multiple printers, but wouldnt mind a small one that I could put on the desk for occasional prints in pla.
@@ChristoffL I understand the concept of opensource, but why? its clearly marketed to someone who wont understand the concept of opensource or what it means for 10 years :D i am just saying, its not a factor to the intended audiance of the product :D
@@3DPrintCornwall Who do you think is the intended audience and why do you think they wouldn't appreciate being able to hack their 3d printer?
