    Great PLA Filament to use with this printer: us.polymaker.com?aff=69
    I didn't have the highest expectations of this printer, but no failed prints in the week of extensive testing has been impressive. This isn't the right printer for everyone, but in educational situations where you want to work with a 3d printer instead of working on your 3d printer, this might be a good option.
    Another huge advantage this 3D printer has over cheaper printers is well calibrated CURA profiles. You can select a quality profile, and you know it will probably work. There is still a lot anyone can learn from calibrating a slicer profile, but it is so much more fun to start with a good working one.
    The Tina2 3D printer would be great for educational situations or for use around little kids. You don't get the upgradability of other printers, but for some users this might be what you are looking for.

    I have wore out two and just ordered my third. It is very low priced at 175.00 . My first two both lasted over 2000 hours. It is one of my five printers and is great for printing things for my grandchildren.

    Thanks for the review JJ! I've been trying to get my daughter a 3D printer that would fit ontop of a small shelf in her room but I didn't want to spend too much but still wanted something decent. This printer looks like it might do the trick.

    Hi JJ,
    I've been using the Tina2 voraciuosly since a year and am very happy with it. Of course there were times things got stuck but always managed to get them fixed. Learning process. Now I find the Cura version I am using does not do duplicates. Simply says Placing Objects, Multiplying and placing objects. This message cannot be removed from the interface. Scoured the web, no solution. Because some of the objects are small, printing mulitples on a single run would be nice rather than printing them one at a time. If you know how to do this please let me know. Thank you!

    What speed settings to people use on this printer? and also what temperature for printing PLA. Using the Cura settings as supplied by Weefun, the speed is set at 100 and temperature is ser to 200 degrees C.
    However, when printing with PLA, I have to reset the Z-offset everytime I change the filliament. I also have to change the temperature to anywhere between 200 and 215 degrees. It will print with no problems then all of a sudden with no settings changed, it will not even give me a decent first layer.
    Also it does print on the magnetic bed without tape, then next print will not stick to the bed. I have the same issue with masking tape on the bed. Another issue is where print starts to come of the bed or gets thrown of the bed...
    What settings do people use for Cura version 5.
    Thank you

      To print your own objects you need to download a slicer program. I like using Cura, and they have a download link on the Weedo website: www.weedo.ltd/download-2/ That program can be used to turn a .stl 3d model into the .gcode that the machine needs to run. Then you can save it to an SD card and print it on the 3d printer.

    I love this printer, I have the Tina2 Basic, and out of the Box it just worked, the only thing that I can say, if you are printing fine details, then change the print quality from draft to a better quality (The default is draft), and I agree, I have a print spool I cannot mount to the spool holder because it is just too short, and the spool keeps falling off, I will have to look for the spool holder

    Thank you for your video. It is great and has encouraged me to buy the Weedo for my 9-year old granddaughter. We will mainly want to print our own designs. Before buying this though I downloaded Cura on my Mac. However, I see only the Weedo X-40 model listed under non-networked printers. Don't want to purchase until I can be sure it will print what we want. Any advice shall be greatly appreciated. Thanks again!

      To get the official Weedo Tina2 profile you have to download Cura from Weedo's website: www.weedo.ltd/download-2/ It has all the official profiles included. Then you can update that download of Cura and it will carry forward the profiles to the newest release of Cura. Let me know if that helps.

      It uses normal STL files that need to be sliced into GCode files.
      3D STL Files you can find for free on Printables: www.printables.com/
      And you can slice them with the free software Cura: ultimaker.com/software/ultimaker-cura

    We are new to this but I really enjoyed your review. I’ve messed with this printer and I can get it to do everything but print. It says “power recovery mode” and when I click on continue (even for a print we’ve never tried) it says “resume printing…” and it never actually does anything. Do you have any thoughts on what I can try?

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  2 года назад

      That's odd, "Power Recovery Mode" is for when the power turns off mid print. I would try turning it off and on again to see if that clears it. If that still doesn't help after a few tries then updating the firmware should clear it all out.

    Excuse my ignorance on this. Is this printer capable of printing 28mm scale fantasy/sci-fi miniatures? I realise it won't look as good as resin and that's fine.

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  2 года назад +2

      I haven't printed miniatures yet, but if you put a smaller nozzle (maybe 0.2mm) and reduced the layer height you could get some pretty detailed prints out of it. Still nothing like resin, but I haven't really messed with that stuff. FDM is so easy to work with.

    How often do you replace the painters tape? Is there a beginner printer that does well with TPU you reocmmend?

    • @JJShankles
      @JJShankles  2 года назад +1

      The painters tape has lasted longer than I expected, but I haven't been using it all that much. If you want a printer that will be good specifically for TPU, something with direct drive will typically be easier to use. I haven't used them personally, but either the Kingroon: amzn.to/3yYSptz
      or the Ender 2: amzn.to/3sTx0Oz
      Look like really solid printers for TPU printing.

    Interesting… i like it! It is small but the auto bed leveling and it’s portability are definitely a selling point. I probably won’t buy one just because I have any cubic i3 mega s but still a good video!

    • @shawnhicks619
      @shawnhicks619 2 года назад

      I got one to pair with my anycubic printer for workflow. I was impressed how well it actually did. And the price, for me, was right. I used a digital coupon on Amazon that lowered the price to 119 and used points for the rest, virtually making it a free printer.
      I’m like this guy, I thought it would be nice to have a second small form factor printer. My next printer hopefully will be the anycubic cobra max allowing me to do pretty much anything I want.

    My thoughts about it for anyone that cares to discuss them:
    No heated bed for over 150 dollars is a total rip-off even if you are a total amateur or a kid.
    Yeah, I get the safety features but I don't think it is worth it at all at that price.
    Also that easily consumable bed surface is also a bad feature for an amateur user and also completely obsolete in 2022. And although I really appreciate the auto bed levelling, it seems a bit unnecessary for this type/size of build volume.
    Lastly, how hard is it to add a good part cooling fan?
    The printer has a single purpose of printing PLA and it doesn't even do that properly.

    • @rickoldani4261
      @rickoldani4261 2 года назад +1

      It has worked well for me! The ABL works great and I have printed with both pla and tpu. I also own a Voxelab Aquila and a Magician X, but the Tina 2 is great for any small prints.
