Well done finding the old coins Warren and Colleen, 2 silvers made me smile as I remember we used to get a sixpence under our pillow when we lost a tooth and Dad used to collect the silver threepence so we could each have one. Good luck at the Church detecting, with the older sites you never know what you will find like the bike tag, that I had never heard of before but we could use them nowadays to help stop the thefts perhaps. The pink flowers are very pretty especially with the sun shining on them, its been below freezing all day here so to see the blue skies and the sun was wonderful thank you. Take care and stay safe please my friends God bless you both love and hugs Mary-Ellen UK
Thanks for commenting Mary-Ellen. We are going through a bit of a heatwave at the moment along with high humidity but we prefer that to winter cold! All the best, stay safe and Happy Fossicking! Warren and Colleen.
Howdy Warren and Colleen, You did well picking up some nice coins and relics in a site people had already hunted. Silvers, a very old penny and a skeleton key all found in a place you'd like to be anyway. You can't beat that. Good luck at the church.
What a great find that penny They are my favourites and of course the silvers A good sit to keep exploring too Find the rubbish dump may be a p,ate or other gems lol Cheers 🍻 CrouchOz
That was good. You did well. Those schools had fete days to raise money and other money raisers for the war. so always worth a look. Yes, those old English pennies are not good to use to date a place as they were still in our change until Decimalisation in 1966, Nice video Warren.
Thanks for commenting, yes the old school sites can be real treasure troves, we are doing a run of these old schools in the coming months. All the best and Happy Fossicking! Warren.
The lead washers I find here are "Manila pattern" washers for our corrugated iron roofs. There are lead capped roofing nails from the 1950s & later. This house is an Autralian manufacture of the later 1990s. They were sold here by a local real estate firm, advertised as tropic and fireproof. The c1970 Hicks home had burned, surviving Hurricane 'Iniki in 1992.
I sifted out a 1917 Territory of Hawaii bicycle tax tag in 2014. A few years later I found a 1946 on the Punchbowl. A month ago I sifted out a 1942 out past Makaha where all the trash from downtown was taken and burnt from the Summer of 1941 to 1946. I found even a Morgan Dollar, totally wasted, the wing of the eagle is faintly discernable. Honolulu had a housing shortage in the War years, so a lot of old folks rooms were cleared out, so "Late throws" abound. It is well burnt, and I'm sure a Caterpillar was pushing the material around, I've found even a 14kt wedding band. How would you detect such a target rich environment? All sorts of wire and hardware, probably even whole cars. I found an embossed chromed plate "Oldsmobile", definitely 1930s. This is a totally deserted side of the island. The ridge is capped with satellite tracking equipment. USAF Space Command has been superseded by the U.S. Space Force.
That dump sounds great for sifting Tom, detector not much use just shovel and a big sifter, you have made some great finds - all the best mate and Happy Fossicking! Warren.
@@NQExplorers Just back from sifting all day there. It is a bit wet from rains of late, not dry as it mostly is. I sifted 40 trays, my 14x22"x3" deep screens I ,make with 1/4" stainless cloth. Today I found a Cent, an about .25 cal. live round and scrap copper-a slow sort of day. This hobby is very much like gambling, you trade your time for a sometimes reward. A sure thing is the exercise, a 7 or 8 mile bike ride to get there. Thanks for the good word, and you two enjoy your digs.
idk. Im american so we have here on the west coast california not much for the old reale but only on the east coast. theyre here in america but hard to find and deep to.
