Hey friend - yes, you pronounced my name correctly 😊 Love the info you included at the end about adding roads! Great addition to all the information I covered in my CADMapper tutorials. Your viewers may also find my CADMapper tutorials useful, as I cover unit conversion from metric to imperial, as well as a workflow for separating 3D data from AutoCAD to import into Revit.
Thank you for the tutorial, Balkan. John Henning has already dealt with almost the same subject. The issue with CadMapper is; it works for you in the USA, but it doesn't really work for us in South Africa.
Hi Balkan ! Have you been working on a real architectural project ? It will be great to make an episode on that.. 1. Architecture, client interaction, 2. Handling execution, stages of construction / timelines. 3. Financial management, conducting the business etc. 4. Mistakes / experiences you went through, we could learn from that.. This would be a great content for architects like us out there running our own practice. BTW great content and good work, very inspiring and motivating.. Thank you :)
Hi Balkan! Great video, but had one question. When I get to the explode part, it gives me errors that it can't keep elements joined. When I click Unjoin Elements and re-explode, the same thing happens. I continued to keep clicking it until something similar as to your drawing came up. I went to look at my topography, but my buildings layer is missing buildings. Any work around into fixing that? Thank you!
Hi Balkan, great video but you don't finish the story of getting our site to have all the buildings etc to a point where it looks like the site on the picture of the video. I want to make a site i can then export renders of to produce architectural representations
Whenever I export from cadmapper, the contour lines seem to be offset from the topography for some reason, no matter if I open it in AutoCAD or rhino. Is there some way to fix this?
✨✨ there is an issue that the topography was not actually model in Revit and also mesh smooth more is not working because it should be exploded before in Autocad file!!😊😊✨✨
ur a life saver! also how do we edit this if we want to place our project onto the site? if you can help with that please do cause i am in my final year and need it bad
I selected a 200x200 meter area and lines every 4m, but still I only got 4 lines on the whole plot.... is there information lacking about my site or something?
Great video! One question, the roads seem to be offset a bit when I explode them onto the topographic surface. For example, the roads on my particular region are invading water bodies and vegetation according to Google Earth. How can I move all the roadways dynamically with the topographic surface so that it is more accurate to the actual area on Google Earth?
what about modeling the buildings in the file? not as in actual buildings with walls and floors but with model in place command or sth like it how can i do that?
I managed to get my CADmapper topography into Revit, but it doesn't seem to appear globally positioned correctly. Is there any way I can check and or correct this? Eventually I opted for CADto Earth as an add-on, but that has since proven problematic too.
Hello, thank you for sharing this very helpful! I have a question I downloaded a map that has no building heights but the topo also looks very flat so it feels like there are no levels between them.. what can I do in such case?
Why you didn't open like dxf in max and use prooptimizer??? Then you can convert to the mesh and make invisible mesh and then open correct this in revit like dxf file)
which templates are you using? the German one is completely overloaded with bullshit nobody will ever use (since 2018). I would also like a tutorial about how you sort and create stuff in the project browser- I can't even put the siteplan in front of the basement...
Hi I have a course on creating templates in Revit, it's currently on my Patreon, but it will soon be on my website as well. As for the templates I tend to use English metric or a custom one that I built 🙂
Always Inspirit don’t get a Mac. I suggest you check out all the specs on the programs you want to use, then get your computer based on those. I use AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, AGI32 on my computer. I have a Dell intel core i7; not the greatest one. You can also custom modify any computer you get, just make sure it’s professionally done.
Always Inspirit it should be fine for those. The processor speed in 2.7 GHz, which would be better if that was greater than 3. Check the CAD specs first and consult a professional before purchase. Also make sure your school doesn’t require a specific laptop so you won’t have to spend double the money.
@@alwaysinspirit5322 I have a dell intel core i7, 2.2-3.9 MHz. If autoCAD is what you will be mostly using it for, an i5 works significantly slower, my sister's computer is an i5; she studied architecture. Now your GeForce will make up for the lost speed on the intel core. I do have to say that autoCAD used in 3D works slow to begin with, which will eat a lot of your time; I have been using everyday it for 3 years. If you know the school you are going to, see if they have requirements. If you want to invest in a gaming computer that will have high performance, I suggest Dell Alienware. The specs on it are magnificent; the only downside is that they cost well over $1000. So it's a lot to think about.

OG of CadMapper to Revit Tutorials!
Thank you Mr Balkan - you're a very generous person, to those of us who are just trying to learn and further ourselves! :)
Best channel on RUclips!
Been trying to do this for a long time and you made it look so easy! Thanks
I love this channel. Subscribed!
You are the best man, been chasing this for days! Thanks for the uploads!!!
It really worked for me after I look and try some tutorials, yours is the one that worked. Owe you a lot.
Balkan you legend! This software is amazing, I can't believe it's free. Thanks for bringing it to my awareness
Thanks a lot, that really helped me for my design project as a Civil Engineering Student.
Wow I learned a lot from this video
Thank you so much!!! My project is due in a month and the site topography is so complex! this hs saved me a whole week :D
YES thank you Balkan! Perfect timing on the upload!
Really cool! Great tutorial. Thank you!
Tysm, did everything as described
I have a coworker that needed this video about a month sooner.
I may show him this and laugh later. He spent longer than 1 hour.
Check out Dynamaps fot Dynamo also, it uses the same dataset as cadmapper for its source.
Amazing tutorial, thank you.
Thank you for the tutorial, I really sparked
Thank you for the tutorial, Balkan. John Henning has already dealt with almost the same subject. The issue with CadMapper is; it works for you in the USA, but it doesn't really work for us in South Africa.
I have been trying so much to build the neighbourhood for my project.. Thank you!!!!
As always wonderful and unique👍
Great tutorial Balkan!!...keep it up!!
Thank you Sir. I have discovered a treasure today. You are amazing. Have a great day:)
Thank you for this tutorial Balkan Architect :)
Thank you, man! you make my work easier..it realy helps)

you just saved my life, thank you so much!!!!
life saver
thank u for sharing. very helpful
awesome, thanks so much
amazing tips, thanks
Thanks bro, appreciate the infor
how can him select whole roadline in 9:51 ? Is there any track for it?
have you figured out yet? I am also wondering here
press TAB
Not for everyone, we in India struggle
a better way to select points for the road is by clicking Tab as you pick lines
incredible
You are amazing thank you
with Lands Design, you get a much more precise topography.
amazing! thank you so much :)
The disadvantage is that After creating road using cadmapper it becomes difficult to create sidewalks, pavement stripes!!..but good job Balkan!!
nice job!!!!
Hy BA. thanks for all your content. Does this work with toposolid? Thanks
Yes, the terrain has better uniform mesh triangulation.
thank you!!! more like this please...
very useful...will compare it with a 3D scan if it's as accurate as a point cloud.
It wont be. Most buildings are extrusion based on metadata
hi, how i will know the height between lines form the topography ?
Great website for early phase, although be wary of OSM file accuracy. Not reliable for shadowing for DA in my experience.

When i select the mesh and click meshsmooth it comes up with an error saying invalid selection, how would i resolve this? Thanks

there is any manner to select all entire lines when u r getting in the subregion mode?
Whenever I export from cadmapper, the contour lines seem to be offset from the topography for some reason, no matter if I open it in AutoCAD or rhino. Is there some way to fix this?
✨✨

for some reason it doesnt let me import the dxf file into revit. Please help!!!!

Mr Balkan
Is there a way of deleting a single building from the imported model?
Very helpful was hoping the ending result was gonna look like the cover for the video 😭
hello, like roads how do i import the buildings? please help, really need some guidance.
How should i print it as 3D?
Great Great
amazing amazing amazing
what abut pressing TAB after selecting one line with pick lines to make the road ;)
Do more like this with cadmapper please..
stupidnb7 I’ve got a few video tutorials on CADMapper I’d you’d like to check them out 👌🏻
Hello, how do I upgrade the buildings on the land again! disappeared when it exploded
Why my revit keeps loading the dwg file? It has been a while now.
SAME
I really enjoy ur tutorials sir the contents are really helpful
The link to the CADMAPPER website wasn't in the discribsion 🤦

why its not showing in 3d pls help
what about modeling the buildings in the file?

how can i do that?
nice one
when i transfer it to revit i can not modify it, how can i fix it?

How do you ungroup all the buildings in revit?
how do you check if its to scale?
Is there a way to smooth the mesh in revit if you don't have Autocad downloaded?
Would also like to know this.
thank you !! very helpful :)
Hello, thank you for sharing this very helpful! I have a question I downloaded a map that has no building heights but the topo also looks very flat so it feels like there are no levels between them.. what can I do in such case?
How would you add your surrounding buildings back if you have exploded the DWG? thanks
Import as separate file
There is no way showing how you uploaded to autocad, which file to click etc
How can I change the height of the buildings in autocad or revit?
Why you didn't open like dxf in max and use prooptimizer??? Then you can convert to the mesh and make invisible mesh and then open correct this in revit like dxf file)
how do you import the file dude? that info will be very helpful
Bonsoir, comment modifier les différents volumes sur le site afin d'implanter un nouveau projet?
Hello engineer Balkan, is there a way to convert from 3DS MAX to REVIT
How to create a new template in revit with all site and levels elevation etc ? @balkan
does it work with feets?
I couldn’t find my navigate wheel it hiding somewhere can you please tell me ?
Shift + w
Tem como fazer isto no ArchiCAD? Obrigado

Once you download the zip file, how do you unzip so you can open it in AutoCad?
Don't have to. Just right click, open file in folder, double click file. Automatic opens in autocad
I Love ur videos, I have a doubt on model text, how to write names on curved plane, plz respond
Hey bro could please recommend me navigating wheel hide my computer how do I get back ?
shift + w
Aussie BIM Guru I really appreciate thank you
Can you recommend any laptops for architects and architecture students ???

Vanesa Gjeçi iam planning to get Asus Vivobook X510UQ
With i7 and GeForce mx940
I’m going to use autocad+sketch up+ enscape

Vanesa Gjeçi now I’ve changed my mind 😂
Sooo now I want to get Asus TUF gaming laptop with GeForce 1650 video card and i5 9th gen. processor
