Absolutely incredible, this is a game-changer. Having this functionality with the features as objects, and the detail of each, is a long overdue tool. Hit bullseye with this.
This looks so cool in the video. I immediately tried out the freeware for some hours and was then pretty disappointed... I think, this plug-in could be much better, but there are several big design flaws, so I would never recommend spending money into this plugin for Revit: - Why is the topo imported aligned to project north? That does not make any sense to me. -Rotation of the topo is only possible in a catastrophic workflow, as the satellite image is a material surface and will not rotate or align automatically with the topo after rotations... -It's not possible to see what quality you will get with your order before ordering. You have to spend the credits and then you will know what you get... -Revit 2024 is supported, but place maker will still create topo surfaces instead of toposolids. If you convert the surface into a solid, the satellite image will not be aligned anymore. So you have do align by yourself, again with the shitty workflow.
Seems to be nice! But after a not saved Revit crash I also lost the paid downloaded terrain modules, which you cant call back from the seller. So be aware to keep saving state of work.
If you contact PlaceMaker support, they can refund the credits for your failed import / crash or send you a model of the terrain after verifying your order.
Hi, i really enjoy yours video, especially for beginners, but could you make an tutorial for or something near about HVAC systems(fans, ERV, AC, chillers, ...) and how to better represent them as views in PDF. Thank you very much for your colossal work!!!
If someone use revit, there is high probabilty this person has infraworks 360 and it can do this same way better and results can be send to revit. Anyhow this plugin seems to be interesting.
Really cool product in theory, but the issue is the lack of previews before purchasing. Essentially it's asking me to make choices and pay for something but not giving me an actual real understanding of what I'm getting or paying for. Just makes it a guessing game and somewhat confusing

I am wondering if i need to create the surrounding around my building should i do this first or after I design the building? And are they going to be at the same scale and proportion?
This is ok for existing Levels and existing elements in order to do the proposed plans Landscape project, hoping this is accurate if not it will be a big problem if the client gave the site survey Levels then use this and its not matching with it
Seems a bit counter intuative that you have to specify the building heights, I would want the actual building heights of these existing buildings if i were to use a tool like this.
Can this be used for checking views from within your building? If you want to check the views of distant mountains, do you have to create the topography all the way to the distant mountain or can they be created separately and placed at their respective locations? Thanks.
You can create them separately. You can select different areas of geography to import. So zoom to the mountain you want and import it, then have the program generate a topographic surface from there.
Thanks for this, very helpfull!! I was wondering if there´s any way to do the reverse, can I export my Revit model and place it on google earth? I have in mind that Cadtoearth was the way but can't find it anymore... Any tips???
HELP!!! I've installed this and bought credits after watching your video - but I can't get my head around how Project North and True North are interacting. The plugin seems to import the data as Project North, but the imagery is facing true north. I can't work out how to rotate it so that Project North and True North interact correctly. Please help.
Haven't tried the add in but I guess you should have project north aligned with True north for the site model. Link this to the model you're working on and create the location setup there.
@@dennishuisman8534 I'll give that a try, use "rotate true north" to bring the model back to the correct alignment for drafting. That should work it's just a shame the use of true north and project north end up reversed.
So now that you have this "site context", put a model you have built for this location and render it in Enscape. That's the payoff for this - nice to see on screen but what wow can you show the client that makes this stand out.
Is there current info on this plug-in? and can you place your Revit model on the imported map? I want to place my Revit building model on a specific location-To show it in a presentation of how it would look with existing condition via Google Earth/Maps (similar)

Hi, I always follow you in your videos, I would like to ask you a question: it is possible to realise a project in Archicad and export only reinforced concrete column beams. In Revit, make the armour and export back to Archicad to have a complete reinforced concrete model? Do the two programs interact well? Thank you
I put the topography into my project but it did not come out at the same scale of the structure I created can I reduce the size of the topography? And another question .. after I created the grid the topography is also incorrect in terms of elevation points, it has only one moderate slope what can I do? Please answer
