wow this is absolutely fantastic, i did not know you could do this in Revit, mean i knew about cad mapper however i did not know you could modify the style before hand then once you bring the file in it automatically applies it for you, this is amazing thanks a lot, maybe show us how to do the dashboard you did at the end please?
This Is Woderful. I knew about cad mapper before but your tips on the graphical representation of the context takes it to another level. Thank you and I will be eagerly waiting for more of your videos in the next year. (I am an BIM Architect From Ethiopia)
Thanks for the comment! It’s really encouraging me to keep it going. I have hundreds of these little tricks I’ve learned over the years. A lot more coming!
Thanks, it's great. Once imported using your explanation, how can we generate a Revit topography out of it? I've gone to "Massing & Site/ Toposurface / Create from Import" and get this message: "There are no imported elements in your document. Please use the import tool to import the desired objects and then add them to the site"
Have you tried using Autodesk Forma? I thought it was also pretty easy way to add context to Revit model, and also make some changes in it. If you did, maybe could show some comparison?
Hi there, love the video! How did you get the roads and pathways to be a solid colour/material? When I make changes to Object Styles/Imported Families, only the lines change colour.
See my video I uploaded after this one, in that one I show you a way to create revit topo using the lines from cadmapper. Once you create the revit topo you should be able to label the topo lines like normal
I just want to point out to you. You should never never import CAD files directly to Revit. You should use “link” model like as Xref.
Very true
You look like Joe Marler, if he was never introduced to rugby.
this is absolutely amazing. tons to thanks.
I appreciate it thank you!

@@atxarchitech Thankyou
Amazing thanks, although my create file tab in cadmapper is greyed out and it wont allow me to create a map, any advice?
@@albertomarcelloni4070 zoom in, you may be too far zoomed out. It wants you to pay if you want to capture too large of an area.
@@atxarchitech ive zoomed in as much as i can and still nothing, i tried different countries and main cities in the US but i get the same result.
not all building return manipulative.. why ?
I can't get mesh model in revit as import cad with dxf file

My video today will show you the quickest way to do this. Coming soon!

I will look into this thank you!

There is a category for “material” in the object styles. You add a material to that object layer that has a color that matches the line color
question.
1. How do you label your topolines with that map? Doesn't see it as topo.

@@atxarchitech will do. thanks!
Super Idea thanks 👍
