Master Plan & Concept Design In Revit
good
Awesome! I started working in boatbuiilding and yacht design recently. Boat plans uses a lot of reference planes, which is a well structured feature in Revit, but I wasn't able to import a useful Massing. I will try it out! Thank you!!
Hello ,, Do you have any contact info ?
Brenthebert90@gmail.com
Amazing, very helpful! Thank you!
Any updates to do this with Toposolids in 2024 and later? I Struggle with resolving some designs the loss of teh simple features in Toposurface not supported in the new Revit.
This was extremely helpful thank you
Thank you for sharing
Interesting, never thought of it that way. Thumbs up.
Hi there, love the video! How did you get the roads and pathways to be a solid colour/material? When I make changes to Object Styles/Imported Families, only the lines change colour.
There is a category for “material” in the object styles. You add a material to that object layer that has a color that matches the line color
Great video! Subscribed!
Why using imperial units as family units and upload the site in meters? Any special combination or just a mistake?
I’m not sure why this is the case, but if you import using any other unit type, the scale is totally wrong. This was the only option that brings it in correctly for some reason.
I'm wondering how this works when other disciplines have the model linked into theirs. Is it a matter of communication and coordination so that they know which proj they'll be using? I can see this being highly efficient for a client w/ multiple projects but not so sure about multiple clients. I'm guesstimating.
Hi! How can i generate the shadows like that in buildings
Hi, Nice video, and very clear. I use the same system, but for some reason, when I import into SketchUp, it just shows me the model in a bunch of plain colours. it is very weird. Any suggestion
Love this tutorial !
That’s something great!
Bro.. You are really amazing.. I ask my God to bless you forever
Thank you so much!!
I just came across your channel, and glad I did. Great quality content!
Thank you!! I will put more content out I promise. Juggling work, social life, and making this stuff is not easy... yet!
Hi there... tried using the object styles settings you showed for the imported CAD. but my road did not come up shaded/filled.. any idea what I got wrong?
The road has an actual material applied to it via the object styles. Make sure you create and apply a road material to the road. That's what creates the shading.
U are the goat 💥💥💥
I can't get mesh model in revit as import cad with dxf file
Same
thanks sir
good video man, hey, I would love to design the thumbnails of your videos, where can I contact you? greetings!.
You can email me at brenthebert90@gmail.com
really nice layout ... good to see Revit continuing to being pushed
Thank you
I just want to point out to you. You should never never import CAD files directly to Revit. You should use “link” model like as Xref.
Very true
this is absolutely amazing. tons to thanks.
I appreciate it thank you!
Oh Man! you literally described my position right now doing both design and Business development and holding up to my skills in the wind of business ups and downs lifecycle! what a coincidence - you have also just detailed my personal perspective on relationships with prospects, companies and business managers and how i approach and deal with these :D. Its just totally me right there!, keep it up mate! and lets get in touch
Ahh that’s great to hear! I just had 2 meetings yesterday that went really well, and I learned even more about what makes the best impressions on your leads. Definitely up for connecting. I’m Brent Hebert on LinkedIn if you’d like to connect.
wow i like you tutorials !!!
Amazing work thank you so much for the video!
Appreciate the advices, thanks alot❤
question. 1. How do you label your topolines with that map? Doesn't see it as topo.
See my video I uploaded after this one, in that one I show you a way to create revit topo using the lines from cadmapper. Once you create the revit topo you should be able to label the topo lines like normal
@@atxarchitech will do. thanks!
Thanks
thank you, very handy👍
Glad it helped!
THANKS
Thanks a lot mate!! I Will be practising this site plan method for my projects
Happy to hear that! More to come stay tuned
amazing
Bravo
Hi, your projects in design options are set as revit links, right? So this dashboard isn’t for working on projects but for viewing them, right? It seems to me that this is usefull for project manager and maybe for printing out projects in early stage, when annotations are not yet needed. But this cannnot be use for actual work. Am I missing something? The title block origin as instance point for viewport scale is a discovery for me. Thank you.
Very good observation, but no these are not links but are all modeled in the same project. The dashboard is for working on projects, and you can have multiple projects in this same file. The one thing to be careful about is if you do work this way, you would want to be sure not to model anything under “main model” as anything modeled there would show up in all of your design options. You also have to be careful about changing which design option is the primary option, as changing this can end up deleting annotations, as you pointed out
Super Idea thanks 👍
Wow. Thank you for this.
Hii this seeems too good ? Can I learn from uu ? Or do you have proper classes?
I’d be happy to help. Let me know if anything specific you’d need help with, or we can set up a zoom call!
Well am actually just learning REVIT now I just know little bit basics about REVIT so I just want to know where to start and how u can help me I this like if u can share classes on RUclips or something like that it will be helpful for others too and for u too
Thanks very much! This is great!
Thank you! If you have ideas for more you’d like to see, I would love to hear them
Thanks, it's great. Once imported using your explanation, how can we generate a Revit topography out of it? I've gone to "Massing & Site/ Toposurface / Create from Import" and get this message: "There are no imported elements in your document. Please use the import tool to import the desired objects and then add them to the site"
My video today will show you the quickest way to do this. Coming soon!
This Is Woderful. I knew about cad mapper before but your tips on the graphical representation of the context takes it to another level. Thank you and I will be eagerly waiting for more of your videos in the next year. (I am an BIM Architect From Ethiopia)
Thanks for the comment! It’s really encouraging me to keep it going. I have hundreds of these little tricks I’ve learned over the years. A lot more coming!
Cant wait 🙂@@atxarchitech
nice
wow you are too good
Thank you! more stuff on the way
Have you tried using Autodesk Forma? I thought it was also pretty easy way to add context to Revit model, and also make some changes in it. If you did, maybe could show some comparison?
I will look into this thank you!
wow this is absolutely fantastic, i did not know you could do this in Revit, mean i knew about cad mapper however i did not know you could modify the style before hand then once you bring the file in it automatically applies it for you, this is amazing thanks a lot, maybe show us how to do the dashboard you did at the end please?
I’ll be uploading a lot this next year. Thanks for the comment! Lots of new stuff coming
