Notice how the women never totally humiliate the hero...even if they occasionally best the hero. (I'm talking about YOU Phoebe Waller-Bridge in Dial of Destiny).
Yes, you pretty much summed it up perfectly. I'd say that the last element is the most important, and the one who conditions the other four. Without respect, there is no good product.
This was a pitch perfect analysis. You shine brightest when explaining the composition of the scenes- the camera angles, the types of lenses used, the temperature of the color palette. So so good. Great job as always, my friend.
I appreciate your unique ability to immediately get to the salient pertinence of your points without wasting your viewer's time trying to audition for the local Giggle Factory's open mic night with a bunch of cynical snarky edgelord nonsense - or obnoxiously creating cringe channel call signs to beg for subscriptions to your Patrion. Finally a decent channel with strong concise commenary about relevant cinema aptly relayed with acumen and erudition. You're putting out valuable content sir, thank you.
Thank you for sharing a very insightful analysis again Eric. It's amasing that some productions just won't acknowledge it - give people what they want, treat them respectfully, and they'll happily come back. The basic premise hasn't changed in over 10,000 years. The movie looks good and I heard good things from my colleague about it. Made my pick though and I'll be seeing Oppenheimer instead next week and am really looking forward to that one. It was a tough choice - this is definitely on the must see list. You really gotta respect Tom Cruise for his professionalism and drive, and he demands a lot from himself. It's good to see that spirit still exists :) Cheers!
Thanks man! It really was great and completely agree about Tom Cruise, the passion he has for what he does is almost palpable. I’m really excited for Oppenheimer, been looking forward to it since that first teaser they did, definitely going to watch in imax for that one
Yep, respect is definitely number 1! As Tom himself says, they are here to entertain the audience. All the other studios and "creatives" think they're here to educate the audience (in their opinions). I saw the film at the weekend but don't remember seeing a message at the start though, is that just in the US (I'm in Australia)?
Great analysis. 👍 Mission impossible movies always deliver and I hope the box office numbers get better as barbenheimer noise goes aways. When it comes to colours in movies, what do you think about steven soderbergh’s movie traffic from 2000? He uses a couple of color palettes and sticks to them no matter what. Meaning, the characters do not look nice or natural so to say. I love that movie and it always makes me think. The soundtrack is amazing too.
Great video, agree that Cruise is the biggest movie star and the last of a dying breed but not literally the last movie star left - Keanu can still open a movie, as can Denzel, Jolie, Pitt, DiCaprio, Stallone, Statham, Clooney and Hanks.
Just watched commentators this morning talking about the writers strike and the role of AI. One of the comments was how there is very little worth watching for the money and the Mission Impossible series as well as The Sound of Freedom are two exceptions to the recent influx of garbage.
Pretty much nailed it.
Thanks!
Excellent video, as always. Thank you kindly for your work and best regards from Iceland.
Thank you so much!

Exactly, such great portrayals of engaging strong women in cinema without trying to humiliate the men
Excellent review- looking forward to seeing the movie even more now!
Thank you! You’ll have a blast with this one!
Well done. You went through your five components for a movie success with clarity and we agree with each one.
Thank you so much!
All praise to the algorithm bless this channel
Thank you! all hail the algorithm😂

Absolutely, it has to be the top priority with a franchise and it’s being forgotten by all but a few

Great job as always, my friend.
Thank you so much my friend, you are too kind!
Letting heroes be heroic. 👍

You are very welcome.

Exactly! That’s interesting, maybe, would’ve been just before the opening, similar to what he did with top gun
Great analysis. 👍

Thank you! I actually never caught that one, but I’ll have to see it, looks fantastic!
Great as always.
Thank you!
Nailed it again Eric.
Thanks brother

Thank you! Agreed those are all great, and part of a dying breed unfortunately

Those two really are the exceptions
