my hair looks exactly like yours when its straightened. it moves and everything yet it always gives this "puffy" look. I always knew I had thick hair but i just thought i straighten it wrong because it never looks like others girls hair, flat, now ik it just cuz my hair is really thick and it is what it is. thank you this, i learned something new

I have thick hair and yet to try before blow drying put leave-in/heat protectant/and serum, while wet so it can soak in I heard it worked for lots of coarse haired girls

I just ran across this video, thanks for the tips... I really don’t silk press my hair anymore, bc I sweat in my sleep & after spending all that time & $$ getting my hair done, the next morning it’s always a poofy mess (wrapping it or in a low ponytail)

Genetics is a big factor. Watch her journey. Her hair has always been long. It's not simply by just leaving it alone.
Genetics is a huge factor but it isn’t the end all be all. If your hair doesn’t retain length well there are ways to change that but it will take a lot more effort than say someone who has never had trouble growing long hair

Tea Ben actually no her hair has not always been long. She grew her hair from being damaged and relaxed her journey is very attainable. Everyone’s hair grows the trick is to retain what we grow regardless of our genetics everyone can grow long hair unless they are suffering from an underlying disease causing hair loss.

Anthonia Orji yea but you can only help so much as far as the density and the size of your strands, and weather it’s fine or coarse, allot of how your hair will grow is genetics first, THEN health and hair care. Some people’s hair retains length easier because it’s genetically stronger

My mom always had relaxed her I finally convinced her to go natural and a year in 7 months later after big chopping her hair is close to your length. She does not feel comfortable in her curly/kinky hair so I should suggest her be a straight natural? I don’t want her to go back to the chemicals

Gorgeous hair. You are my hair twin. Any type of humidity my hair will start to frizz and curl. My hair was past my tit and she cut 2 inches. Still pretty long and I'm glad it is even.

Your hair is gorgeous! I just have a few questions, if you don’t keep your hair wrapped for 3 days or need to fix your hair immediately, would you use this same method expecting the same results? And did you need to do this more than once? My hair is silk pressed, I have 3C/4C hair type and colored, I get my silk press done at a salon. I work from home so it usually keeps for about 3wks without it looking puffy, but I’m always scared of putting heat on it at home, this video really encouraged me and assured me that there’s away to keep my style looking perfect without causing heat damage.

Thank you so much.. I have your hair but it’s thin as hell because I wash and put echo gel in it every day. I just wear it curly. The last 7 years it has been coming out every day. I got it blown out yesterday. Everyone was surprised at the length but it used to be as long as yours. It comes past my shoulders now so it doesn’t feel long anymore. Our hair grow quick when it's natural. Less chemicals...Less hair grease...less heat..these things aren't good for our hair all the time. White folks started using grease first. These things rob the hair from natural oils and pull the hair out. That's why they have long beautiful hair

Yeah lol as long as you’re tending to your hair type as it relates to heat. And this is the first and only time you’ve put heat on your hair since it’s been straightened 😌 hope this clears that up for you

Yeah thats not right. Any texture can have a silk press , it's just about if your hair is healthy enough to take the heat

My hair is dense and when I flat iron my hair it comes out either heavy from too much heat protector or frizzy from not enough
Your hair may not have been clean enough
It’s all in the products you use to wash your hair and how much moisture you add
I don’t attempt silk presses on myself because they never work ! Go to a professional as they will have your hair squeaky clean and can work magic from there

You probably didn’t dry your hair enough With the hairdryer… If your hair still has moisture in it when you straighten it it’ll come out all frizzy and if you didn’t put enough moisture in your hair (while you wash it) then it will come out looking coarse and frizz up and seek moisture from the atmosphere easily

I do my hair myself since I don't trust stylists. Also because my hair gets poofy in humidity, I wear a scarf when I drive and get in/out of my car. I only remove it once I am somewhere indoors.
