I'm happy to take you with me, Norm. I travelled from Rob Roy's grave to Glencoe and I recorded most of the road journey. I'll include some of that in my upcoming Glencoe video for you :)
Thanks, Herbie. This video was from part of my trip during the Summer to the Scottish Highlands. I was able to take this trip because of the generosity of so many of the subscribers and members here and I am so grateful to everyone who supported, and continues to support me to get out and about. From Rob Roy's grave, I headed to Glencoe where I took some amazing footage. That video is in production and will be on the channel for you to see later this year :)
Thanks, Kieran, I'm so glad you enjoyed it. The atmosphere on the ground on that Sunday morning when I filmed this was quite amazing. It's well worth a visit early in the morning :)
Hey there Robert 👋 I'm a 15 year old English and Belgian boy who lives in Laos, Southeast Asia. Your videos have been one of the most valuable resources on my journey to find a drone for me, and thanks to you I got to learn about the limits of the Mini 2, advantages, drawbacks, etc and mine is arriving in the mail sometime next week. Thank you so much for putting your wholesome content out there and being such a great creator Daniel
Daniel, I'm so glad that I have, in some part, encouraged you to take up flying a drone. You've chosen a wonderful little droid. Be sure to give it a name when it arrives, and please feel free to link to me any footage you take :)
Hello mate ....what absolutely amazing scenery. I absolutely love your country. You're a very lucky chappy to be able to say you're a Scotsman. Have a good weekend Rob x
Thanks very much. I am pretty lucky to have so many wonderful locations to film. If only we were as lucky with the weather. It hasn't stopped raining for 4 days now!
Robert - Once again, a champion effort! You never know whether to believe online ancestry databases, but it is possible that I might be a descendant of Rob Roy (yeah, me and 20 million others around the world!). At any rate, thanks for this very nice tribute to the MacGregors' greatest hero! Haloo, haloo, haloo, Gregalach. Cheers!
Thanks so much, MaineMan. Aye, LOL, there are many many people who claim to be descendants of Rob Roy, William Wallace, and even Robert the Bruce! They must have been quite the shaggers! ;)
Thank you so much for your kind words. I have visited Bavaria, a long time ago, and I still remember how beautiful it was. I hope to visit again one day :)
Thank you, Nigel. That was taken on my recent trip up North which I was able to do thanks to you and others here who have supported me to get out and about :)
Very nice Robert. At my age I may not make it to Scotland, my ancestral home, but your videos fill a small part of that void for me and I thank you. I loved the way you flashed the tartan and I assume it's the McGregor clan's tartan. Regards, Dan
It is indeed MacGregor tartan Dan, I'm very happy you noticed it :). You may not make it to your ancestral home, but I will be posting more of my trip to the Highlands soon and you will be able to sit with a wee dram (a whiskey) and come along with me :)
Thank you so much, Steven. It is quite an astounding location. The atmosphere on the ground raises the hairs on your neck for some reason. I wish I could convey that in a video! : )
Beautiful Robert, took me back to my visit to Strachur church, burial site of Sir Fitzroy Maclean, the atmosphere, the smells, the silence ahhhh! to top it off the only wee red squirrel i've ever seen bounced out of the undergrowth tae say hello. cheers for the memories bud.
Thanks K! The video does not do the area justice tbh. If only there was a way to put the smells that surround you and the tingling feeling on your skin when you are standing there!
Thanks a lot, JJ. It's a really wonderful location. The only things I can't convey in the video are the wonderful smells that surround you, and the tingly feeling on your skin when you are standing in the churchyard!
Great footage Robert well done.I dont know if you did it but just a few yards along from the church and take a left you can park at the little bridge and fly straight along Loch Voil and see your drone fly for miles.Mine did an 8km round trip and still had lots of life in the battery Falls of Dochart Killin and Loch Tay is only 25 mins from there and great for flying.Keep up the good work
That's some great info, Geo. I was on a tight schedule and had to get to Glencoe as my next stop, so I didn't have time to look around the area much. But I'll keep a note of your advice for the next time I'm up that way :)
WOW Robert you had the hairs on my arms standing up and also on the back of my neck, wow great video and the music complemented the Video thank you for sharing I will also share it for you as I want people that have not seen your videos to watch a master at work, regards TJK UK. PS I will come up and have a wee dram and also a fly with you and lassie.
One of my brothers, who preceded me by a whole year and 4 days, has gone to great lengths to get our Tartan, has a nice kilt, a sporran, and wears it with great pride. I wonder if he is on the lookout for subway grid air drafts? 🤔 Probably not a worry in Richmond Virginia. Please keep content like this in the mix, if not exclusively. It's outstanding, even if it doesn't tickle the algorithms just right!
Thanks NickMer. I was a bit rushed with the footage because when I arrived at the location on the Sunday morning, there was a sign saying that the Sunday Morning Service would be starting at 10am. I wanted to get Lassie up and flying and then down again and get us away before anyone arrived for the Service :)
It would be a bit of an off-tangent video for the channel, Geoff, but I'm not opposed to the idea. I have a video on the channel showing how I edit my videos, but it's just a basic one: ruclips.net/video/6Qp0K-NVYXQ/видео.html
@@WindsweptRobert well you are doing such a really good job on yr channel…. Your not giving it up soon…… poor lassie is going into retirement…… so what’s next?
Nice bit of History that, very nice. Did you use a filter when flying by the water? the reflection looked stunning. Keep them coming Rob. Also have another question i will send that separately.
tbh, I cannot remember what filter (if any) I used. I filmed that early on a Sunday morning, but when I got to the Kirk car park, I saw that there was going to be a service that morning, so I kinda rushed to get the footage done before anyone arrived. I may not have had time to do a proper filter test and so this video may have been taken without a filter.

☺Ahh...good point. I suppose I was assuming that anyone who clicked on the video would already know who Rob Roy MacGregor was. My apologies for that, but I hope that because of this video you at least went on to google him and read his wiki page?
