I agree with the statement in the description that Rick does care about Beth as much as he can't admit it. And he cares about Morty, and Summer, and even Jerry sometimes. The tragedy of Rick Sanchez is his status as an apex predator in terms of intellect, knowledge of the infinite nature of the universe and multiverse, and awareness of the insiginificance and unimportance of human affairs in any ultimate grand schemes, all being directly at odds with his desire for companionship. He wants to love at least a few people, but can't reconcile that desire with his intelligence and the awareness that attachment is an irrational feeling. Rick is literally too smart for his own good. His inability to accept that you can be a smart person that knows that the only things that matter are those that we choose to make matter and still be able to care for other people is what puts him in the position he's in at the end of Season 3. Nothing mattering except what we choose to make matter should be a reason to show others that you love them more, not less, because it means that those you love are what you choose to make matter. The eternal existential conflict between intelligence and compassion is a recurring theme in several Dan Harmon works, as he has said in an interview for Community when discussing the possibility of Abed having Asperger's syndrome (now something Rick and/or Morty are interpreted by some as having), Harmon has said that for all of the neurological disorders that exist among people, there aren't any that make people want to stay away from other people, at least not forever. Even serial killers want to be around other people, even if it's only to gruesomely murder them. For now, staying around his family if only to belittle and degrade them and not commit to any displays of genuine affection for very long seems to be a decent compromise for Rick's internal IQ-EQ fight. I would say I hope he finds a way to reconcile the two eventually, but if he did, then Rick and Morty would probably be as good as over, given how it does seem to be the central emotional conflict. It will probably be OK so long as there are decent stories with other characters to balance out the necessary deliberate stagnation in Rick's character development to keep the show going. I hope Season 4's contract negotiations haven't fallen apart.

Imagine being around someone you loved so much, but it’s not them. It’s just a version of someone you lost. Imagine knowing that it was you, or a version of you, that caused you to lose them and then trying to justify your presence around them. Just trying to love them how they need or forgive yourself the way you need.

U know i feel so bad for rick, like his wife and his daughter beth got killed. So he had to go to another dimension to get another version of them. Thats probably why he left, he didnt want to hurt them anymore.
