I'm enjoying these shorts, and pleased that there are so many Quo songs to allow you to continue for some time to come! Under the Influence seems to be a much underrated album even amongst Quo fans. It was undoubtedly the real renaissance album for the band and one that I listen to far more than Heavy Traffic.

Glad you are enjoying the videos, I am finding them fun to do. As much as I enjoy Heavy Traffic, I do just think that the material on Under the Influence is just a bit stronger.

I really enjoyed the Under the Influence album when it came out and Making Waves is definitely one of a few excellent tracks on the album.

Yeah I really enjoyed it when it came out, probably as much for it containing some great tracks, but just as a relief that it was a guitar based rock album again!

Personally Making Waves was another single opportunity, a bit like Round and Round from the same album, at least two songs we're in my opinion missed single opportunities. But then Blessed are the meek was another, so maybe the album could have been an album of hits. I think by the time Under the influence came out Quo's single selling power had illuded them sadly.
Great reaction again though. Looking forward to next Quo's Wednesday

Yes Round and Round is a great tune. Both it and Making Waves I think are better than the three singles they released from the album.

"I think by the time Under the influence came out Quo's single selling power had eluded them sadly."
All Around My Hat on Noel's House Party was I think the final straw - It didn't even make the Top 40 peaking at 47.
I want to know what made them think releasing a pub song as an actual single rather than a B-Side or Hidden Track on the end of the album was a good idea?
