For me, it’s a solid Quo song that was ruined with the horns. The drum sound doesn’t bother me too much, but I totally get what you’re saying.

Very good review mate, I thought you explained it well about the horns and arrangement on it, in fact the whole album's production needs remixing to a more rocky standard. But I thibk think Let me me fly was old Quo but with a new sound. So yeah Good Stuff was the correct ranking. Great stuff, looking forward to next week. 👍

In my opinion this album is the best album ever by Quo. Each and every track a masterpiece, my favourite track, SLOW TRAIN, absolutely brilliant.

Don't get Quo fans , as soon as they change the same riff they go moody . This was a great album with at last some change to their sound

I like it. The only problem I have with this one are the dynamics. As you said, after the build-up it falls flat. It goes quieter. WTF? Should have been in the live-set at the time.

You won’t be surprised to hear that I had to listen to this one before commenting and having just done so, I would say it was a pretty decent “modern” Quo track.

I have to say I was never a fan of this song in general, regardless who records it. But I think Quo's version makes it more listenable. But its a skipper really. But thanks for another great review 👍😊

I agree. Quo make it a more engaging and lively listen but it's basically a rather dull song to start off with. I think that I have read or heard somewhere that Quo knew Robert Palmer back in his Vinegar Joe days through touring so the fondness for the guy may have influenced the choice more than they admit when they're trying to big it up as a "real turn on". To such a tight band as Quo, this sort of "almost hypnotic" thing could be done in their sleep. As for the Bryan Ferry version, he sounds as though he is about to croak it. (Thankfully, he was alive and singing well during the recent Roxy Music tour!)

I had to give the track a listen (probably the second time ever) before commenting and I agree with your assessment. Not an offensive song, but not something I’ll be rushing to play for a third time.

I really enjoyed the Under the Influence album when it came out and Making Waves is definitely one of a few excellent tracks on the album.

I'm enjoying these shorts, and pleased that there are so many Quo songs to allow you to continue for some time to come! Under the Influence seems to be a much underrated album even amongst Quo fans. It was undoubtedly the real renaissance album for the band and one that I listen to far more than Heavy Traffic.

Personally Making Waves was another single opportunity, a bit like Round and Round from the same album, at least two songs we're in my opinion missed single opportunities. But then Blessed are the meek was another, so maybe the album could have been an album of hits. I think by the time Under the influence came out Quo's single selling power had illuded them sadly. Great reaction again though. Looking forward to next Quo's Wednesday

It’s a pretty good song, but the disco beat is a bit off putting. You mentioned the junkyard being in the video, but for me, the two main talking points would be Parfitt looking as high as a kite and Lancaster’s fetching hand knitted sweater!!!

Great review, and Perfect ranking. Personally I love this song. So do I love She don't fool me, I used to think that as Quo's first flop as it stalled at number 36. But Accident Prone is an amazing song in my eyes, so too is She don't fool me. So what do I know. Thank you once again for a great review., 👍

I brought the tape when it was released, I was 13 and covered in spots, I liked the album but even then I knew the frantic four were a powerhouse up to 76, however they wrote some great stuff afterwards but the production was often over done, greetings from Ireland
