I remember trying to do the blue lake shade skip for the first time and I actually got it first try i was very confused how

Nice. I tried about 20 times in a row and still have yet to actually do it.
Despite the fact that some of these are impractical for any sort of speedrun, they are still very useful for randomizers
all of these are useful for speedruns and challenge runs

Peaks elevator skip where you need crystal heart to unlock the crystal peaks elevator
These skips are absolutely nuts, the amount of practice and study of the game's mechanics must've taken months or some.
recording this video definitely took a long time. knowing which skips exist is mostly just a year of accumulative knowledge from watching other better people play
i knew all of these except early nosk and dash slash crystalized mound and im not even that knowledgeable about the game

I am on switch and just do the take damage one to get there, so… 😅
It should be noted that for the salubra shade skip, die past the arena. I usually do it even further, by the raised area for safety. Too far and the shade will spawn in the gruz mother arena.
yeah the hanging rag under the gruz mother arena is the exact positioning
Also you there's a spot you can wallcling for the wingless king's brand to skip the last pogo
Wingless kings brand should be hard because you have to survive a primal aspid encounter
Also note that if you fail nearest bench is exactly after the skip, so there's none any near to use... Id say king's pass station is still probably safest, arena bench and nailmaster bench may be closer but they aren't really friendly or really close either
I use a lot of these in my speed runs and randomisers so it’s great to have a compilation of them so I can practise them.

when i reached the entrance area to stag nest i thought this was the only way in. so i tried to do it for a few minutes until i made it. only realizing much later it wasn't required XD
I always thought #2 was the intended way to get to mawlek, getting there by walljumping is way too hard

I also find the pogo method easier for mawlek though
I did #30 by pogoing off the miner's pickaxe.
The fact that i did some of said skips not knowingly on my first blind playthrough... Hollow Knight somehow encourages players to find their own ways through the seemingly impossible segments of the map.

You don't actually need the third pogo for wingless king's brand. you can just reach the wall barely with a full height jump.
Really well organized video! I’ll have to try your version of epogo, since it’s always been tricky for me.
The 3 fireball version is easier
If you take the lantern route to peaks, or buy it before heart, and go to ddark room, just drop down and it leads to xero/dream nail
Of course you dont have to get lantern, but im bad at memorizing things so this is easier for me

So, fun fact. For the wingless Kings Brand, you only need to pogo the Primal Aspid once. The other 2 ledges can be climbed to with wall jumps! (If you want to learn it, I recommend downloading debug mod and turning on hitboxes to see where you can cling to the wall easier)
At upper kingdom's edge you can kinda do another acid skip, but it is harder and require monarch wing to do it , but it's fun

If you've spent any time researching or watching any kind of jk speedruns all of these are important
I found this really cool, although I would’ve given the hornet fireball skip an easy rating because you can just triple fireball, And probably wouldn’t mention QGA, or at least when describing it say that it is/near pixel AND frame perfect, and also the hardest trick in the game, I also found out that I’m not as bad as I thought at this game, being able to do all of the easy and medium difficulty tricks, although some of the easy “tricks” just boil down to “if you have this item, you can go a little faster” also I wasn’t aware of that E-pogo setup, maybe I should try it in runs, as I learned with the 0 fireball setup, it sucks

I feel like many of the skips where you pogo on object, like the wingless spire for example, should be in easy
i really suck at wingless spire which is why i put it there. but you’re right i should have done that
@@FIREOWLHK I do too actually. I almost lost my speedrun achievement because I couldn’t manage it. Ended up just getting wings and finished around 4 hours.
Number 7 should be 1 imo but other than that, great video!
Have you ever thought about doing a HK speedrun without going into greenpath (aka no mothwing cloak). I've seen runs without crystal dash, isma's tear/monarch wings, and even without mantis claw, but not this run. I feel like that concept might have a future, and seems like a good challenge

A tip for spire skip, don’t have dash master equipped, hold down, jump, slash and then press dash. You should be facing the wall to do this.

I know that you need a nail upgrade for the early wings skip but instead of a nail upgrade could you get a mask? Also do you need shaman stone for 1 cycle uumuu
yeah a mask also works for the wings skip
im not 100% sure if shaman stone is needed but it probably is
ik you can one cycle godhome uumuu ascended which has heaps more hp so you probably can
You don't even need shriek for 1 cycle uumuu, you can use shade soul

Shaman stone is required. Without it you'll need another abyss shriek. You could potenshally do it with spelltwister or more soul vessels.
I did fog canyon skip without the crystal dash.

My limit is the extreme I can do medium did skips
I completed the game in under 1h30 using some of these skips, but I can't do acid skips for the life of me, so I'll just use Isma's tear. Lol
same lmao. plus the dung defender fight is pretty fun and easy
I find acid skips pretty eas, its just working out a timing

I did skim through the video a bit, but everything should work in current patch, and GP fireball skip definitely does
Yeah it works, this is how I got onto the spire in my first playthrough. It's very easy unless you're on controller.
You missed 2 important skips: without the ability to get through the salubra to the blue lake and the appearance of unn without a crystal dash and a tear of ism.
Cdashless + ismaless lake of unn is probably the hardest skip
Idk why early Hallownest's crown is in medium not easy, it's litteraly just pogoing dashing and jumping

I think, baldur instakill skip between forgotten crossroads and greenpath should be in this video. I am training this right now and really don't understand how to get it
that one is only possible in older versions of the game so if you're on latest patch then it wont work

I don't think the spire pogo skip is harder than the crystal dash acid skip, Unless they are just sectioned catagories.

Isnt the dash slash spire skip (and all lever skips for that matter) not possible on current patch?
all of these are possible on cp

@@T101G only specific dash slash skips works on cp, im positive this one in spire works. make sure you jump from the block platform, and dash slash at the ground tile part. dash slashing through the gate will not work

It's unfortunate not all of these skips are possible on current. They patched wingless brand on current by preventing the aspid from entering the area

Nope! Stag Nest is intended to get to by unlocking all stag stations :D
On xbox explogo doesn't work because tring to pogo makes it explode
this epogo method version works on all versions

Mawlek is way too easy by the time you have later movement abilities
it's fairly hard for a first-time player before Greenpath, but very doable if you can do the spike pogo "skip" in the video

Ngl the blue lake skip is easy for me its the first skip i did on my 2nd run
its easy if you know the setup. if your just messing around its a bit more difficult

in all seriousness there are way harder skips that im sad weren't showcased here, like early palace grounds, isma's tear without cdash, monomon without cdash or isma's tear, ect.
yeah i could easily have made it 50 skips but i had already delayed this video by a week so i wanted to get it out :)

What update is this? Lever skips don't work on current at all. They actually patched out a lot of things. Team cherry really seems to dislike fun or being able to get around something that you otherwise can't. Like skipping certain bosses or the c dash acid skips. Those were harmless and sometimes people genuinely can't beat a section and have to find a skip
i only covered current patch lever skips
QGA is overrated in difficulty and so is the dark room in peaks

It's literally frame perfect. The best true ending runners in the world don't go for it even though it saves almost 4 seconds in that category
