I love how Superman completely undermines the entire Justice League by taking Steppenwolf down singlehandedly with little struggle.

If they had done a better job with the movie as a whole .... this would of made sense. Steppenwolf is only a lackey to Darkside and would of shown just how weak they all are in comparison.

I have literally gotten into arguments with people about this movie. Superman literally showed up and saved the day. He manhandled stepphenwolf when he first showed up, left to go save the small village while flash saved one family, Superman came back and manhandled Stephen wolf again! And then helped cyborg separate the mother boxes. Superman didn’t even really need anyone’s help but cyborg since only cyborg knew how to separate them.
Which is why the Snyder Cut exist

Steppenwolf does not have a Kryptonite. The only reason it was a fight in BVS. Even then Superman could have ripped off the bottom half of Bruce's face but isn't that Savage.

Batman in pretty much every other thing I have seen him in: uses his wits and gadgets to at least hold his own vs the most powerful enemies. Batman in this: Picks up alien gun - pew pew pew *Runs out of ammo. I hate how useless this movie made him look.

@Frogger it gives both flash and cyborg a good character. The movie doesn’t look like you colored it in with sharpie. Every character is important. Why do we need Batman? He’s the one with the resources to bring the team together and execute the plan. Why do we need the flash? He’s going to charge up and help Cyborg get into the mother box. Why do we need aquaman and Wonder Woman. To keep steppenwolf busy while Barry charges. And even though Superman is quite overpowered in both, note they still lose the fight and the flash needs to go back in time. Literally anything the josstice league did the Snyder cut did better.
This is like when my kids try to carry the jug of milk in together, and struggle, so I just come and lift it up for them.

sfappetrupavelandrei that’s a weird overreaction over one scene. But anyways he wanted to know where the ship was because it had the the codex. So he took Lois just in case Clark denied to join in on his plan. Lois and Clark clearly had a relationship. She discovered him, knows his identity, knows where he lives, and went to the army base with him and they knew that. He would’ve took his mother if she was there but she wasn’t and he doesn’t know where Clark lives. The whole point of taking Lois on the ship is to find out where he lives because the ship can’t be far from there and it wasn’t. And his plan worked.
Producer Guy: Steppenwolf sounds like a badass. I bet he's gonna be tough to beat.
Writer Guy: Actually, it'll be Super easy, barely an inconvenience.
The reason this movie was bad is due to these reasons:
1. Warner Bros rushed the franchise instead of slowly building things up like how marvel did with the mcu. They also made bad choices in regards to stories being told. What idiot thought it was a good idea to combine elements from the dark knight returns with the death of superman comic book stories into one film.
2. The villian used was a poor choice. Steppenwolf even in the comics is a C list villian, someone all the justice league members not including batman should have low to mid level difficulty with in a fight. He may be Darkseids uncle, but he is nowhere near his nephews level of power. In the comics, Darkseid even said, despite the fact that Steppenwolf has killed both new and old gods alike, he doubts his uncle could even be a challenge to Superman.
Steppenwolf also has a very underdeveloped and uninteresting personality and ultimate goal, both in the movie and the comics. His fiercely loyal to his nephew and sits as one of his high commanders on Apokilips, but thats pretty much it.
The whole point of the justice league is that they together are a team that is meant to work together to take on a threat that none of the individually could fight on their own. Steppenwolf does not qualify as a Justice League villian as apart from Batman all the Justice League members should be able to beat Steppenwolf with as I said, mid to low difficulty.
To stick to the point of the Justice League's formation, they should have picked a villian thats powerful to the point it requires the Justice League to work together as a team in order to defeat not individually. Darkseid, Magog, Amazo, Starbreaker, Eclipso and Starro the Conquerer are just a few of the ones in the DC franchise that fit the bill. Or they could have added extra Apokaliptians to the roster to thicken the plot and make the league's formation more credible.
For example, a plot revolving around Darkseid's 3 Children, Kalibak, Grayven and Grail all of whom desiring to please their father by conquering a world he failed to conquer with Steppenwolf acting as their suppervisor and Darkseids enforcer would have been better and honestly more original.
3. Green Lantern was missing from the team. The Justice League was formed by 7 members, not 6.
4. Some of the CGI scenes needed more refining and work added to them.

The more dramatic music makes your mind want to take what’s happening on screen more seriously which is hard to do when Steppenwolf looks so much like a straight up cartoon. For example, in Thor: Ragnarok the lighter tone established through the music and directing makes it easier to ignore the really weak CGI and green screen at times.
Basically, if the movie doesn’t take itself too seriously, neither will your mind.

@@zichengzhou6344 I personally think that it's better (a 7/10 at least), but then again it's 4hrs long, which is just too long, and it's still not a perfect movie. It has Snyder's signature bloat of too many story lines and too many dream sequences/flash forwards/teases for future movies. There should be a 2:45-3:00 cut of this movie, especially since the Injustice/Darkseid/Martian Manhunter/Lex/Deathstroke stuff probably isn't gonna happen anymore - you cut out that stuff alone, and you get like an hour back.
Then:
-Cut out double introduction scenes(i.e. Flash),
-Trim down some of the scenes that were dragging (i.e. Aquaman and Bruce's talk in the fishermen village that went on for 15 mins, Amazons shooting an arrow for 5 mins, WW going down the stairs and looking at murals for 5mins, analyzing the footage of the new JL members for 10mins (which was already analyzed in BvS), Alfred making tea with WW for 5 mins, etc.),
- Unslo-mo/trim some of the action scenes (I found slo-mo to look amateurish/distracting in the WW hostage fight, since it kept changing the tempo every 2-3s, and there are even scenes with no action that have been slowed down - i.e. Lois walking with coffee to the Superman monument),
- *optional* - maybe don't make WW needlessly kill/endanger humans? (it's Snyderverse, though, so whatever, every DC character is an edgy murdering caricature of themselves, here),
and you've got a concise 2:45 movie, that could be released in the cinemas, is easier to watch, and you can maybe even get some time back for character interactions/team bonding, which is sorely missing in the Snyder Cut.
Actually that's almost what Whedon did, and got it down to 1:50 with the main story beats *mostly* intact, so it's perfectly doable, and shows how scattered Snyder's storytelling is, but then cutting important backstories, whole character arcs, diminishing the roles of characters like Flash and Cyborg, replacing scenes that were perfectly fine with worse ones, messing with the tone of the movie, and adding cringy humor and forced conflict in the team was completely unnecessary. It just made the movie worse in the theatrical cut.

Even this legendary score by Hans Zimmer couldn't save this version of Justice League.

Loki's main power was his manipulation. He allowed himself to be captured so he could manipulate the Hulk. His Chitauri army were his main brawn.
Yeah, the soundtrack really was a detriment to this movie. No continuity with the other films, and so underwhelming. This is the way it should be.

Superman League: Where you have literally 3 character back stories and introductions in the same movie (Aquaman, Flash, Cyborg) and then fight a random villain while simultaneously nerfing many of the Justice League members so that you have to wait 2 hrs until Superman magically revives in order to win the fight in a couple punches. Great plot

The problem with the inclusion of the different soundtrack is that the music is too loud. The music should never be louder than the effects or the actors.

It look like in the mythical snyder cut, Superman isn't even involve in the fight and that Aquaman and Wonder Women took him down by themselves.
Superman look rather out of place here, an the poor CGI is a sign of Whedon work as well.
