Thank you for making a great video that shows exactly how to remove the left grip. Cutting it with a razor blade is not always a choice and you showed me how to do it easily.

Those look very similar to the Kuryakyn ISO grips I have on my Fury. I had the Honda dealership change out my grips but this is a great video if I ever change my grips again. Thanks mate!

Hilarious! You mentioned not stripping the screws. I bought my Fury used and the throttle side screw was already stripped. Now I have a challenge ahead of me.

I want to change my 1400 intruder for the fury intruder is 27 inch wide fury 36 can I trim the bars and just slide all controls in wards. I cannot alter access to my property
Unfortunately No.. The grips are standard size but Honda when for that “Fat” bar look and bars are inch and then some thick.. you’ll have to change the bars completely… they are people current working on a conversion bracket that will go from Honda to Harley mount holes.. and there a few companies the make different bars.. I’d highly look and see what’s availability like on meancycles.com and other places before you go further than getting a bike the can’t fit where you live ya know… I hope this helps ya!!
When bars are turned all the way right the throttle dont wanna spring back could this be fixed with cable adjustment

I bought a similar set from amazon. Do you think it would have been possible to reuse the stock throttle tube instead of modifying the new one? It seems that my new set is loose on the new throttle tube and would need glue anyways so I was thinking I could maybe just seperate the stock tube and grip from each other and slide the new grip on
It might actually work… only a few days ago my grip on the throttle side slid off turns out there was no glue on the new spike grips I bought.. I only say might work because I’ve never attempted to take off the stock grip off the stock tube. But it seems like it would work.
@@Thevalleygarage Can confirm that it does indeed work. Went for it this morning. the stock tube was a little bit smaller than the new one, but I wrapped it with a little bit of tape to make it more snug, then glued them on. Feel nice and snug, and no issues on the ride home today.

Hi, recently. I purchased a 2013 red Fury. I notice that the tank where the gas filler cap is. looks very close to the speedometer. I can take the cap easy enough but not as other furies I have seen. Have you seen something like that before????
Interesting! 🤨 is it custom?? I know Ever since Honda started building the Bike the Gas tank filler cap has never moved/altered.. It’s about 1.5 inches from the speedometer way on top of the gas tank.. Pretty Close
@@Thevalleygarage just check. I got about 1 inch of clearance, and the tank is original.

I’m changing my grips over to the same ones, but it’s not snapping back to idle. It’s a slow return. Any ideas on how to fix it? Should I dremel more? Lube? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Yes ok so you want to Dremel about an even 1/8 inch all around to clear double check that.. if idle is not snapping back, the throttle cable could be pinched.. make sure it’s positioned in the same direction at before… do you want to confirm that the throttle and the idle cables are not been switched it sounds silly, but do you want to check all possible directions
I tried. I dremeled it down to almost nothing. Still slow return and the inside tube slid out. I think I just got a shitty set.

Tbh I hated them at first. I only got them because of the spike ends to match the bike... that being said they are so cheap so you need to make it fit with some mods.. and using 3 times the normal amount of grip glue… they are actually quite nice and they cut down on vibrations which is needed because of my carpal tunnel… overall I’m happy with them and I won’t be going back for a while!!!

@@chevytruckk3479 honestly, it’s just a grip doesn’t wrap all the way around but this is preference … they have really grown on me and I like more now that’s Iv rode around with them.. you do have to mod them a little but that part of the fun.. and you need a lot of grip glue because on the inside of the grip with the molding there gap that you have to fill to have the grip really stay on
Will removing the throttle cable clamps be enough if I have 2" risers?
You will have enough room If you take the cables out of their holders (black clips on bars) or clamps, if that’s what you mean but, yes that will give you the slack that you need!
@Thevalleygarage I just thinking with the 2" riser you might not have enough slack with just removing the 2 clips.
@@ChristopherDenopoulos I just know of a Fury rider who’s much smaller than me kept the stock cables and installed a 2 inch setback as well as the 2 inch riser. Keeping stock set up and unhooking the clips portions ✌️😎

Anybody happen to know why my throttle isn’t snapping back after this? Possible throttle cable adjustment?
Yeah you can try moving the cables around sometimes when moved too far out of place or rerouted that can sometimes cause binding.. it’s happened to me a few times.. double check the cables are loops the proper direction top and bottom too.. you should have to make any adjustments down by the throttle body itself.. ohh and too much glue aswell will hold up the throttle as well if too much is placed on the throttle tube
@@Thevalleygarage awesome man just swapped my throttle sleeve and grips cause my last one exploded it almost snaps all the way back but kinda stops itself right at the end thanks for the help man
