Mark, don't forget: this is YOUR channel. You can do whatever you want and makes you happy. And you can block people with nasty comments. Some people are just nasty for the purpose of spreading negativity. To anger others. Don't let them do this to you. Block them. No need to deal with them, no need for discussion. It costs too much energy.
Let me say that as a fellow male crafter, you have brought nothing but happiness, love, laughter, education and friendship forth. Each video is a wonderful thing to watch.
Mark I am a 71 year old woman and found you about 6 months ago. I love your channel, I love your voice, and I love your kindness. You are such an amazing man. I learn so much from you. I loved your UK videos. I went to Beautiful Knitters and the Islanders and made purses because of you. It made my trip so pleasurable. I found such cute notions and did things I never would have known about if not for you. Thank you for sharing your life and for being such a positive light in this world. We need that light right now. God bless you and your husband.
Mark, long time watcher although I don’t comment a lot. There is a reason we over 60 ladies love you. You are authentic, kind and provide great and varied content. Additionally there is something about your voice that I find so calming! I can’t imagine the amount of time it takes you to record and produce these videos. Thank you for all you do.
My favorite video was How Knitting Saved My Life. I'm 38 and I learned to knit around 20 years ago in my first year of college (music school!). Then it sort of fell away. As a male, I always felt awkward about it. But this past year I've come back to it, much more secure in myself. Hearing your story and how similar many aspects were to my own gave me even more confidence to continue.
Mark, I’m heartbroken that anybody, ever, would have a negative word to say about you or to you. Your channel brings calm to my sometimes chaotic days, and I love how you keep me company while I’m knitting! My favorite video is how knitting saved your life. Your ability to be so raw and honest in such a public forum was courageous and beautiful. I look forward to spending a lot more time enjoying your company!
I guess the election results show that we have more haters in the US than we thought. Keep your head up. I just found you as a RUclips recommendation and I found your episode to be excellent. Your voice is peaceful and d your background is amazing! I look forward to going back through your other videos. Since this is my first of your videos, this is my favorite. Love your sweet kitty!
A 75 user old lady in Lower Alabama. Since finding you on RUclips I have looked forward to each new video. My husband and I have taken turns having medical issues that have severely limited our social life. We are very outgoing people and value our friendships. I feel like you are one of those friends who comes into my home each week for a peaceful and pleasant visit sharing our love of knitting. I am so grateful for your presence. May you and Ned be blessed and forever happy.
Mark, I can 100% relate to how hard it is the shake off those negative comments - and I only have to deal with a tiny fraction of the nonsense that you get! The one that stuck with me most was someone who said they couldn’t focus on what I was saying because my teeth needed straightening 🙄. However, you have clearly created an amazing community of love and support. Count me in with your “lovers” 😊 (ps - hit me up if you’re interested in a collab sometime!) xo Nicole
I am a 19 year old trans guy, and I tend to be a bit of a lurker when it comes to commenting. I find your stuff so compelling - I found you through your drama at the yarn store winding video and I still put that one occasionally when I'm itching for that feeling of cozy gossip, lol, but I really relate to your story about trying to fit in in the craft community. I especially feel that as a queer individual myself. You are an inspiration and so beloved, I know the feeling of haters can be overwhelming, but we gotta band together and find love in our communities yk? Anyway, looking forward to the next year on your channel!
Hi Mark! I am in your 60+ audience and have been knitting off and on for 25+ years. Although I have never knit anything that challenged me. Having watched your videos, as of 6 months ago, you have encouraged me to choose and knit a sweater pattern that I would never attempt without your ongoing encouragement, kind words and knowledge of the craft through your videos. Thank you for that and keep on doing you! Happy stitching🫶
Mark, you’re definitely part of my Saturday RUclips viewing! I would love that bag-I was especially moved by your video about how knitting saved your life. You’re a lovely guy. I’m sorry you’ve had to deal with trolls-I think of them as bad faith actors, who can be dismissed.
Liverpool, UK here. Ignore the vile people who have so little love and light in their lives that they spew hatred instead of positivity. My 6yr old granddaughter, who can now knit, says if people don't bring us rainbows and happiness, or if they shout instead of listening then we don't listen to them. She's 6. You're doing a great job and I appreciate the Saturday morning videos. My favourite so far has been the Burra Bears but I'm new here and still catching up with your other episodes. Congratulations and stay positive. You're a fabulous knitter and you bring sunshine on a cold and dreich Saturday morning.
I enjoy your videos. In my twenties I knit a lot even cables, lace work, colourwork, now at 76 I am relearning knitting because we didn’t knit top down and in the round then. Teaching me how to swatch in the round was so helpful. I felt the way I was swatching in the round was so wasteful and had decided skip swatching this way. Canadian Sue
Mark. No on should say an unkind word to you here that's absolutely ridiculous. I'm sorry that that happened, but I guess it's part of the way. It is in the world. There are many knitting and crochet tubes out there and each one has a different vibe in it different purpose I always look forward to yours… I like your calm vibe and I'm always interested in what you have to say about your life and about fiber in general. I have a rule that I'm not allowed to listen to knitting crochet videos and less I'm actually knitting or crocheting so that's what I'm doing out here in the world while I'm listening to you, I encourage you to keep going and you're helping the world be a better place.
Imagine how sad a person's life must be if they deliberately go out of their way to be hateful ! Sad and pathetic! ...I love your videos and look forward to them! ❤ I am 66 yo female included in the Australian 3.8%! My favourite is the first one I saw, which was "How knitting saved my life".
I can't imagine why anyone would ever be nasty to you. You are such a gentle soul. I enjoy watching your videos and listening to you. You have such a nice soothing, calming voice. You make such beautiful sweaters. I loved it when you made a mistake in your colorwork and chose not to rip back. I make mistakes a lot. Although, I am getting better. It makes me feel better to find out other people make mistakes too. You're one of my favorite you tube hosts. I loved your travel videos. I think the one where you visited Jamisons mill on Shetland Island was my favorite. It's on my bucket to visit there some day. As always thank you for being so open. ❤❤❤
Hello from New Zealand. Mark you got a very pleasant voice lots of great knitting knowledge, pleasant personality. Keep doing what you been doing so far. Most of your existing followers will stay, so they can learn, exchange and grow in their knitting journey. New upcoming followers will appreciate your interesting video. Be patience but persevere. Happy holidays Nicole
Love your videos. All of them. But the ones I was really drawn to were from your trip abroad, especially the Shetland ones. Maybe because I have always dreamt of traveling there. Enjoyed the UK shops also. And let those of us who are not able to travel see the beautiful scenery and yarn through your eyes. Mark please ignore the ignorant comments. They don’t deserve your time. Keep doing you. Great job ❤
The internet has given the world so much that is good and useful. Sadly it has also given those who are emotionally challenged or filled with hate the perfect platform from which to spread their hatred or just to make themselves feel important and powerful. A RUclips channel enables you to form a community with those who share your interests but it also exposes you to the haters who only want to tear you down. While you can welcome most of your viewers you have learned that you also have to pay the price of dealing with the small negative minority, and then you have to decide if it’s worth your effort. I was over 60 when I started crochet, and I’m at the delightful part of my life when I just don’t give a stuff about what other people might think of my doing this kind of activity. I hope you continue your channel, Mark. You have a gift to offer the world.
People are just nasty when they can spew their hate without knowing you. I find you very soothing to listen to while I’m knitting. Keep doing what you’re doing! 😊💙
I prefer watching male knitters knowing all makers do things differently. You can have people think only women are the only ones that knit. Keep up the the good work
Congrats on one year! I'm so glad you didn't let the crappy people and their comments make you stop. I think the drama at the yarn shop might still be my favorite, but I do like when you go through your projects and show where you had trouble, design features you like and how you made any modifications. It's so helpful to see the considerations that have to be made to better fit some male bodies. I think that is info that is hard to come by on RUclips. May you have many more years here on YT!
What a fascinating insight into your channel Mark. I clicked on the “How knitting changed my life” and was hooked! I am over 70, female and in UK so I fit your RUclips profiling pretty well. I was shocked to hear that you get hate from viewers, it’s hard to imagine. The amount of money you have spent on yarn and notions does have me reeling, but that’s me and you are you and our lives are so different - as different as our knitting styles, I saved your tutorial in the hope that I could change 😂…. I loved your trip to Durham, the Scottish Islands and then London, armchair travel is such fun. Keep doing what you do 😊.
My favorite video has to be today’s video because I just found you. Another sleepless night scrolling RUclips since this horrid election. I am sorry for the negative comments you have received. I don’t understand people that take the time to watch a video only to make nasty comments. I will go back and binge watch your preceding videos. Thanks you for sharing and I’ll look forward to your next video❤❤❤
Mark, I find your voice to be relaxing and that makes your videos great to watch while I knit. I love the way you interact with your kitties so peacefully, too. I grew up in Cleveland Heights, so hello to the best location in the nation! I especially loved the How KNITTING saved my life, the untold story. Your story is touching and the scenery in that video is a delight. Thank you for your thoughtful, helpful videos. I’m glad I found you.
65 year old woman here, also in the Buckeye state ❤ I have been watching since probably January 2024. I love your channel. It is very down to earth. My favorite is how knitting saved my life. I don't comment much on any channels, but after watching this video, I feel I should start to help drown out the haters. Don't listen to negative folks, block them, remove them, and ignore them. They are not worth your time.
My favorite, thus far are the videos where you were considering the various options for your Sea Glass Sweater. Oh and by the way, the knitting by the sea was wonderful.
My favorite video was the one where you showed the different sweater constructions--I had never thought about which type looked best on my body shape. Now I pay more attention! Thanks for this great video!!
Here’s a demographic RUclips can’t track - I’m an academic teacher, but I also teach a fiber arts elective. I work with students who are 16-24 years old, and about 85% of my students identify as male. You’re reaching those folks, too! My students are training to be welders, carpenters, cooks and other vocations - but learning to craft helps them build dexterity and gives them an opportunity to handle stress differently than they might have in the past. All my students meet low income requirements, and many don’t have funds for tools - but sometimes folks are generous with passing along unused items and I get to help share those things with new crafters. Thanks for the work you’re doing here! You’re reaching more guys than you know!
Mark… you are a bright star in the crafting universe. Your voice … soothing; - your projects - your travels.. inspiring, encouraging. While I understand taking in constructive feedback - I suggest letting the haters roll of your back. It’s hard - but you are lovely- and a part of my life that helps me deal with a world than can be ugly. Keep doing you!!! I reach for your episodes when I need a lift … thank you 💜💜💜
It’s beyond me how or why people think it’s OK to be unpleasant. Are they trying to provoke a reaction? I think your gracious thanks for the feedback is perfect, otherwise ignore and block them. You are a kind and creative soul who has made this a safe and inclusive space for your community, just as you designed it to be. Knit on - we love you as you are!
Just popped in to say I'm one of the male, 45 yo, UK knitters. Always enjoy your videos. You come across as a genuine, interesting and an inspirational guy. Usually I craft along to your videos as your tone of delivery is really calming. Thanks for sharing your experiences and your videos.
Thank you so much! For a great video, and for creating such a wonderful channel. I just wanted to pop my head out of the analytics and say that as a 62-year old Danish lady who has been knitting and singing for a lifetime, I love your content and the way you present it. And it is brilliant of you to post at a time that hits us Europeans in the morning - you are so right that I love starting my Saturday morning with a video from you! Congratulations and all the best!🌺
Mark, keep doing what you are doing. It is very relaxing and informative. Some people are stupid. It is a podcast about knitting/crochet.... Everyone has the right to watch or not. Your podcast is really good!
Favorite video, and some thoughts about abusers - My favorite video was the one about how this fiber work saved your life. It was so moving! I shed a few tears actually. I also enjoy when you share other parts of your life, like the cats, the music, anecdotes about your friends. And of course your excursions, both locally and abroad. Love it! As for the negative comments, a word to the wise - people who feel they need to dump on a guy making knitting videos (laughably absurd target to choose) are usually doing so to make themselves feel better. You are merely the handy tool that happened to cross their path. They dump, they feel better, they move on... until they have to dump again. Over and over, for their whole life. They are tragic, really. Some of them also are vampiric, in that they try to "draw energy" by agitating other people - they stir the pot and get high on that supply. These are our sadists and narcissists, a more scary form of abuser. Whether they are getting a leg up by standing on your neck, or feeding off your distress, both types are toxic as hell. My own personal solution is to do an act - right in the moment if possible - to fortIfy my boundaries. My current one, which someone passed on to me, is I place an image before me in my mind's eye of the face, name, comment, whatever, and I mentally draw a circle with a line across it. I pronounce "Cancel! Delete!" Then I cast the image with the circle and line far out into the universe, to be neutralized and dissolved back into the universal stream of 'all that is' energy. If I felt particularly attacked, after that I check the auric field around me, make sure it is intact. It's a big bubble we each have all around us, energetically speaking. I know this is long, but wanted to share that strategy with you and this community. Took many years of bullying to figure that one out! Blessings Mark, my virtual fiber friend, and a hearty congrats on a wonderful first year!. 🙏💞🙏
I loved ‘how knitting saved my life’ and I’m glad it brought me to your channel. I appreciate your honest and heartfelt conversations. I try lots of podcasts but they don’t always click. I enjoy watching you because you feel like a friend - you’re not talking at me, you’re talking to me. Thanks for starting the channel.
I love this video but my favorite was the wedding video; very moving. Loved the personal information, your raw & beautiful emotion, the gorgeous wrap, the music & singing. However, the video TITLE that still makes me laugh out loud was: “Get My Yarn Off Your Face” (oh, I can relate to that!).
Hi from the Netherlands. I just discovered your channel. I was moved by the story of how knitting saved your life. Stay true to yourself and keep making videos.
I’m always disappointed in hearing when one person needs to knock someone down to make themselves feel better or bigger. I have enjoyed your videos very much Mark. While I haven’t watched all of them there are many I hope to yet view. The organization of my fiber, tools and environment is a must. I enjoyed your bag obsession video, reorganizing your craft space, as well as hearing about what tools you find most necessary. The yarn shop drama was also a fave. Very happy to hear you are finding joy in your making and vlog creation.
You are a fabulous person! You aren’t pretentious, you just are yourself. Don’t listen to the people who don’t get you or are just haters. You are a beautiful person, so sweet, and you have a great voice. You are my go to video when I’m in need of comfort, I know you get how stress works in life and you add such a wonderful, calming presence. I’ve loved all your videos and am having a blast with the make along. Stay strong, be yourself, and know you are loved!❤
Congratulations on your first year on RUclips! I enjoyed hearing about your demographics, I was saying to myself, "that's me- female, 58, from Canada". My favourite videos of the year were your trip to the UK episodes. Beautiful cathedrals, landscapes, and special purchases along the way. I really enjoyed when Ned made appearances in these videos too, it made me feel like I got to take a holiday too. Thank-you for the work you have put into making this channel a special space and all the best to you for the year ahead! 🧶❤️🇨🇦
Dear Mark, I live in Germany but was born and raised in the Netherlands. My favourite Video is "How knitting saved my life" and it also was the first video I saw. I started knitting as a child and throughout my youth I knitted a lot. And then I just stopped it. Several years ago, during a stressful time with little children, I started knitting again, but it wasn't until last year that I really found the time to knit more (my children are grown now). I also found out, that besides singing (!) I just love to work with yarn. I do macrame, crochet , knit and even started weaving last summer. For knitting I love wool from sheep the most, but for weaving cotton is better. Thanks for your channel, it is very pleasant to listen to you.
Hi Mark! My favourite video was going through all your project bags - I’m a bit obsessed with project bags and am always seeking the illusive “perfect” one 😂 so seeing yours was joyful. The thought that you (or any other of my favourite RUclips knitters) get haters is so sad because they are such a tiny minority. I think most people are quietly knitting with you in peace ☮️ You make me proud to be a 30-something male knitter/crocheter - thank you so much for sharing your stories 🤩 J x
My favorite video was "Why I never get gauge". I also never get gauge and had to figure out how to make my projects work anyway. Your video took a bunch of ideas I had bouncing around my head and presented them in a clear and understandable way, as well as adding some new things. Next time I make a sweater I will have a much easier time getting it to fit. Thanks! Also, don't let the haters get you down!
Please please don’t lose your voice. It is yours and it is your power. The only way to lose it is to give it away. Eleonor Rosevelt said “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” Now that i’m 56 years old, I understand what that means and I hope that you do too. Love and hugs from Montréal, Canada. Yes i’m French Canadian.
Mark, Becoming someone who creates affects one’s whole living experience. Whether you become public with your art and passion or keep it to privately self medicate, the confidence you get from trying new ideas, working out problems, and enjoying or laughing about your finished work are building blocks that provide emotional stability and joy. I began knitting only 25 years ago so I am still learning something new every time I pick up my needles. Your video about knitting saving your life has been my favorite because I think most of us have reached for our latest project to help work through grief, illness and anxiety and found comfort in its quiet meditation. I hope you keep giving yourself on your channel. We need as many lights now as we can get.
I think I’ve been a subscriber from early on and am in your largest demographic. I love all of your videos and love the fact that you are a fellow musician. Ignore the nastiness - there is a lot of it out there and it’s only going to get worse for a while. We’re in for a very rough time for the foreseeable future in this country. Continue to spread love and kindness, Mark. It is very much needed now, more than ever. As far as favorite video, I think the ‘knitting saved my life’ is up there for me. ❤
Hi Mark, your “Knitting saved my life” episode popped up on my RUclips feed and I’m so glad! I’m part of your overwhelming demo of 45+ women. :) I really enjoy your calm and kind presence. Your gauge episode gave me the best tip that has been great for my sweater knitting, the Knitting Math recalculating your size website. It’s great! I’m glad you’re here, you look great and screw the haters. I’ll never understand why people don’t just move on if something isn’t for them. I’m a fan and will keep watching. It’s wonderful the things even this old knitter learns through this medium. ❤
I'm sorry for harsh reactions, but I'm enjoying your video's very much in the Netherlands. And now it's party time!! 🎉 already 1 year! 🍀🎂 congratulations Mark!
My favorite video so far has been the “How Knitting Saved My Life” video. I love to heard people’s stories. I really admire how vulnerable you are. It takes a lot of courage to share yourself and thank you for persevering in spite of the horrible negativity that people sometimes respond with. I think you are such a gracious person to respond cleanly when people write mean things. God bless you.
Hi Mark! I´ve been knitting for about 18 months, I learn so much from you, all your tips and tricks. First video I watched from you was how knitting saved your life and I so taken with you and your honesty, I loved your UK videos.
Don't you dare change a thing, you're doing so well here! I appreciate the videos where you just sit and talk (and maybe wind yarn) for an hour, it's like we're having coffee and catching up on things while I'm working on whatever project that takes precedence that day. I generally have a hot beverage to the side when I knit, which somehow adds the social element to it. I'm not normal, by the way. I haven't found a whole lot of crafting channels that click with me; I'm grateful I came across yours.
Mark, that people were very mean to you makes me very sad. I didn’t see your yarn haul video (I will be going back to look for it) but I love to see the beautiful yarns that people buy. I may not be able to or want to spend lots of money on yarn but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to look at it. You also may have found a source for yarn that I wasn’t aware of and I like adding to places to look for yarn. I enjoy watching you make your gorgeous sweaters and am inspired to think about making a sweater (not sure I’m quite ready to tackle one yet). Please keep showing the yarns you buy and what you make from it. 🙂
Mark, I was drawn in by your video about how knitting saved your life. I was a caregiver to ha husband with dementia. Believe me…. Knitting saved my life!
Mark I love watching youre channel. Don’t stop or change you’re doing great. I’m a 57 year old woman from Scotland and I’ve been watching youre videos almost from the start. Your voice is calm and soothing, and my go to when my anxiety is playing up. Knitting and watching podcasts get me through the rough days. I have two autistic teenagers and well it’s not easy. My favourite has to be knitting saved my life. Because it’s saved mine too. Xx
Thanks Mark!!! I do enjoy videos when you go through and tell us what you purchased. I especially enjoyed seeing all of your project bags. I like watching other peoples hauls so that I can see all of the lovely things out there and make some informed purchases not just the emotional kind. Retail therapy can get a bit expensive.
Dear Mark, first, congratulations on one year! Second, what is it about human nature where we can have a thousand positive comments but it’s the one negative that affects us the most 😢 We must try to focus on the good. Just keep being yourself and don’t take others’ misery on yourself. I’m also shocked that the average watching time is approximately 10 minutes?? My favorite videos were the travel videos and seeing stores that I’ll never get to visit. PS the kitty climbing in the basket behind you in the beginning was so cute!
The one that stood out for me, though I've enjoyed most if not all of them, was your trip to Ireland and UK. I'm biased because Ireland is where I live so it's great to see Ireland getting a bit if recognition amongst the crafters from around the 🌎 world. And I loved seeing your fibre related souvenirs of course!
Hi Mark, 1) You're the best! Do not let internet trolls get to you. Sad, anonymous bullies don't deserve your attention. You have 18000+ subscribers that think a great deal of you. 2) It's hard to pick but I'd say one of my favorite episodes was your "Let's CRAFT Together: You're Invited to My First Make-a-Long!" because it was exciting to learn you were doing a make a long. I'm a crocheter and was unable to join due to competing project demands right now but I hope you have another one in 2025 (Please don't wait 2 years :))
My favourite video was how knitting saved me. Your videos are really enjoyable and relaxing to watch - I love the laid back vibe. Good luck with the future plans.
Mark, you have such a kind and gentle demeanor it is hard to believe anyone could say hurtful things about your videos. I am so impressed that you continued with the channel in spite of the negativity. It shows real growth in your character. I love all your videos, but the most useful was the one on gauge (don't get gauge but sweaters still fit) . You have such a calming voice that all your videos are very enjoyable. Thank you for continuing to create!
My favorite video so far is: Affordable YARN Storage HACK - Level Up Your Space with a DIY Pegboard! Nicely detailed, describing the hardware you used.
I think your yarn purchases, travel videos, and whenever you have Ned with you on camera are my favorites. I hope you don’t ever lose sleep over keyboard warriors again. Say whatever you want on your channel. It’s your channel. 😊
You are an awesome crafter Mark so try to not allow negative people to get into your head. I wish others could get to know you so they could see what I see in you. Keep your help up with your great smile😊
Thank you for your calm and grace, I really enjoy crafting to your channel. Regarding the trolls, small people always try to bring you down to their level, keep standing tall.
Mark I love your channel. You bring a different approach to sharing knitting which is so refreshing. It's your channel & you can present it however you wish. People who are critical obviously don't have your courage. It's a privilege to share someone else's journey & each one of your episodes gives us an opportunity to learn so thank you.
I absolutely loved the "how knitting saved my life" it was so, so relatable and made me feel like I had met someone like me who found safety and joy in crafting and music. I am a musician too. You filled a loneliness hole and made me feel like going on life's journey is not as scary as first seems. Thank you so much.
I loved your cardi vs jumper video and the knitting saved my life was so moving and relatable as my fiber crafts keep me going on days I want to give up. It’s a scary world and people are cruel but you remind me that there are still good and loving people out there? Don’t let the cruel people dull your sparkle stay strong ❤
There are sad/miserable people who feel safe making negative, mean and hateful comments in hiding. Say a prayer for those people and move on. I’m glad you are not taking the terrible comments to heart. I really enjoyed your episode about how knitting saved your life. That was the video that got me to subscribe. Looking forward to many more episodes. Knit on and be true to yourself.
Hi, Mark. I'm Cristina from Spain. I love your video about how knitting saved my life because it was the same for me five years ago. I was in a very deep and dark place, I became very depressed and burned in 2019 while I was working as an art teacher in a high school. While I was at home because I couldn't work because of my burnout, I began to knit sweaters (I had knitted some socks and one scarf years ago), but I bought the book Yokes and began to knit one beautiful cardigan, and then a sweater and another and another and slowly my mind was in a better place, I love so much my knitting time when I can create beautiful things, and my mind and my soul can rest in the yarn, so I was so touched with your vídeo, I love your channel, and I'm so happy for your growth :)
Please ignore the haters - don't give them the satisfaction of a reply. I guess we just learned that they are the majority but the only way to counteract that is to keep spreading gentleness, kindness and love. My favorite video was How knitting saved my life. I hope it can help save all of us.
Fellow Tennessean here! So sorry to hear people are being unkind! I enjoy your videos so much. I always find them relaxing and informative. Between your knitting pattern and technique deeps dives to you sharing your knitting travel adventures, you bring us so much joy! Sending you love and positivity!
I watch your videos because you are accepting of everyone for who they are. You don't come across as your way is the way, but rather a way. Your calm and soothing. My favorite video is the one about knitting saving your life. I feel the same way many times. I am grateful you are here.
Mark, you have a lovely personality and you look great on camera! I enjoy your honesty, sensitivity, and kindness so much. I love watching your videos while I am working on a crochet project. I spend a lot of time at home alone crocheting and I always look forward to hearing what you have to say. Your videos are interesting and varied and offer so much. Keep up the wonderful work.
I find you kind and genuine, and that makes you a winner in my book. I have followed you almost since the beginning and enjoy your videos. I am a crocheter, as opposed to a knitter, but always watch your video. You are very calm and relaxing. You have a nice style. Don't let the naysayers get you down.
I love your videos Mark, and can’t believe that some people were so cruel and hurtful with their responses. I was brought up to say nothing if I didn’t have anything nice to say. I came to your channel from your UK travel series, but have since gone back and watched almost all videos all the way through - except for that ASMR one (I don’t even understand what ASMR means). I enjoy your gentle, kind nature and love to see how Ned supports and encourages you also, even though he isn’t a knitter.
Mark your voice is so relaxing and would be perfect for an audio podcast. A video that stick in my mind was the one with your lovely mum. Keep doing you x
My favorite video is the “chatting with Mark” vibe, I really like your vibe when you’re just kinda in front of the camera working on something and talking- I think of those my favorite was when you redecorated and organized your filming/craft room! Seeing the shelves in your background now always reminds me of watching ur vid and thinking “…do I need to go to ikea? Do I need a drill?????” It’s been a pleasure seeing your channel grow :-)
I’m so sorry about the hate messages you received, I can’t imagine how hard it is to read that about yourself. I’m not usually a commenter because I get really anxious for some reasons, but I might try to comment more to leave some positivity! And my favourite video of yours is probably the one about how knitting saved your life. I think it is simply so beautiful, touching and relatable ❤
Mark, I have followed your channel for months. I so appreciate your calm, positive presence. I love seeing your projects. I personally enjoy the reviews on notions and the fiber you have chosen. It upsets me to know your received such mean comments. Just be quiet and walk away if you are not a fan people 😤 I Don't Fit In was one episode in particular that struck me. You shared such personal experiences and showed your vulnerability. I felt like I got to really appreciate what a kind person you are and how fortunate I feel that you put yourself out there for our Fiber Community. Thank you for being your wonderful self xox
I stumbled upon your podcast a few months ago and I have instantly felt engaged, your podcasts feel welcoming and personal. Due to life and a few traumatic events I find myself unable to make new deep friendships with people, podcasts give me the social interaction I am missing (I am on a healing journey) - your podcast gives me that connection, so thank you. I’ve got two favourite podcasts - the first is the one titled When knitting saved your life, and the other was your Behind the Scenes at Jamieson’s of Shetland. I’m a 51 year old from Adelaide, South Australia - I managed to jump on a zoom group for the Sea Glass Jumper KAL - was so lovely to chat briefly.
I found your channel a couple of months ago and I want to thank you for sharing your knitting journeys and life with us. I always learn something new and enjoy your videos.
Sadly there will always be someone who will be mean but I am so grateful that you decided to keep creating videos and sharing yourself and your story with us all and I love being able to be apart of your community here on RUclips ❤ love all your videos covering different topics within the crafty community and your trip to the UK/Scotland videos. But by far my most favourite video you created was that of you sharing with us your wedding day and the gift you created for Ned it was beautiful to be able to share a glimpse into one of your most beautiful precious moments and to share with you both the love you have for each other and the love that your family and friends have for you both ❤
Love your videos!! I will be 69 years old in 10 days, and since my retirement, I've been able to get more crocheting done and I learned to knit a couple of years ago. I have many favorite videos from you, but the one that really helped me was the one showing how to maneuver in Ravelry. I don't know of anyone else that did an instructional video like yours showing all the many parts to Ravelry. I like the project bag you show and would like to be considered in the drawing. Thanks for all you do! Denise Hall, from Texas
Mark - Just turned 79 yesterday and I LOVE watching your channel. I only “discovered” you recently but have gone back and watched some of your earlier episodes. My favorite one so far is the one about swatching. I think you are an amazing human being who is a good role model! Keep doing what you are doing. 💕👍
Thank you for the opportunity. My favourite episode was the yarn shop drama ❤. Sorry there are so many people out there that feel they have to comment with their disdain. It’s hard not to take it on, but it’s theirs though, not yours.
I heartily agree 🎉
Mark I am a 71 year old woman and found you about 6 months ago. I love your channel, I love your voice, and I love your kindness. You are such an amazing man. I learn so much from you. I loved your UK videos. I went to Beautiful Knitters and the Islanders and made purses because of you. It made my trip so pleasurable. I found such cute notions and did things I never would have known about if not for you. Thank you for sharing your life and for being such a positive light in this world. We need that light right now. God bless you and your husband.
Wunderschön gesagt, Dankeschön ❤
Thank you for your beautiful comment- those were my thoughts exactly.
46:01 yes, I completely agree and appreciate your kind warm heart. Thank you for being you.
Ever notice that the people who criticize others are the ones who have never accomplished anything of their own? Keep calm and knit on!
Amen!
Meet ups…YES! Mark you do you! Would you ever consider singing for us??
Oh I would love that too!
Yes we do. I was happier when they stayed in the woodwork.
@@carblarson8868So was I. I’m too old for this!
@@angelajenkins3952 My thoughts exactly. Welcome. Mark has attracted some really nice people here - it's cool that you've joined too.
Your Granddaughter sounds wonderful ❤ I also learnt to knit when I was 6!
What a wise & wonderful young lady! ❤️. She probably get her wonderfulness from you! 🥰
Love the 6 year old wisdom! Thanks for sharing that.
Maybe some people can't stand kindness, warmth and beauty, because they themselves lack all of it? Maybe?
Thank you SO much for that insight! It's great to know 😄
Mark… you are a bright star in the crafting universe. I reach for your episodes when I need a lift … thank you 💜💜💜
I am a 61 yr old lady living in Malaga, Spain. I came to your channel through your “ Knitting saved my Life” video. You are doing a great job! ¡¡Olé!!
Well said.
I agree. This fine person is putting out wholesome videos and people still find a way to be nasty to him? What is wrong with them?
My favorite video is how knitting saved your life. Also, ignore haters
Congratulations on your first year, just the beginning!! Love your videos, Mark!❤
Mark, what I like about your channel the most? YOU!
You are spreading a lot of love in the world. Take courage and keep shining. 💗
Truthfully, I cannot pick anything I don't like. I especially like travel videos with you and Ned. Happy everything!
Mark, Move on. Delete those haters, and keep going strong!!!
I love your transparency and your love of kindness. Keep being you!
Favourite video was your trip to Durham. It brought back lots of memories for me 😊 Keep knitting & keep filming you're lovely company to knit with. X
My mantra is “Let that s**t go!” You do you and don’t EVER apologize. For all those negative comments I’m sure you have lots more positive ones. ❤
I love your ‘controversial’ sweater! I think any sweater is controversial to someone in the world, just do what makes you happy!
Just enjoy your knitting as it not only brings joy to you but to most people that follow you💗
Mark your voice is so relaxing and would be perfect for an audio podcast.
But by far my most favourite video you created was that of you sharing with us your wedding day and the gift you created for Ned it was beautiful to be able to share a glimpse into one of your most beautiful precious moments and to share with you both the love you have for each other and the love that your family and friends have for you both ❤
My favorite so far is the Yarn Discovery Tour video. I love learning about people's local/independent shops.
I needed this, Mark, after a very difficult week. Keep doing what you're doing. There still is hope and kindness in the world. :)
Thank you for you, thank you for your channel and thank you bro being for us here ❤🎉🎉
Mark - Just turned 79 yesterday and I LOVE watching your channel.
