- Have you jumped on the pen bandwagon yet? I put it off for so long because I thought they would be more difficult. In this tutorials I will show you that you don't need a fancy pen holder or even wooden dowels. I use a simple pool noodle and some straws that come with my blank cups.
I hope this video can inspire y'all to try them as well!

⭐️ use code DAM for $5 of $40 ⭐️
Thank you for pricing these realistically. I’m starting to get really irritated at some of these people selling them extremely cheap. Their screwing the rest of us lol This stuff takes so long to make and honestly the works more then the amount that comes in sometimes. I see people selling these for 7-10 dollars are then if/when we price higher were the ones who look bad!! Another thing is that everything has gone up now a days, I say we all start charging around the same higher amount! These items are a lot of work that most people do not realize!! Us crafters who put countless hours in to make quality products( such as yours,) are worth paying for!
Oh for sure! One thing I learned early on was not to compare my prices to others. There will ALWAYS be people that under charge but there will also be people that know what quality items cost and won’t bat an eye to pay more for a great item!
Also, some just do it for fun and know there are people out there that has to buy the cheaper because they can’t afford the higher even though they know it’s worth it!
@@Mustangs4321If someone’s making them for fun then honestly they should be giving them away not selling them. (Depending on the experience of that person and quality of their work,) and if that person is experienced, then chances are their NOT going to price them low (just because their doing it for fun,) because making them for fun or not, you need experience and knowledge to make these and both of those things equals out to A LOT of time, ....and time,..... equals money.
The entire thing itself costs a lot of money to do and you have to be able to make money that’s worth it in order to continue making them because if not it’s a waste of time because of how consuming it it. At first sure they are fun to make but making them for fun and trying to make a successful living off of the work you enjoy and also devote the majority of your life to are completely different.
@@jestcy4205 I get what your saying, where I live in Idaho they are great quality, and they sell for $8. People where I’m from are amazing crafters and we have huge, and I mean huge craft fair shows. I get my crafting supplies, gifts, etc at all for a reasonable price. I’m also a crafter, so I needed no explanation of time, cost, quality. I agree with you 100%, but we make great money here at our shows without having to raise the cost to where we get half the people buying because they can’t afford to now. Thank you for replying though!
@@Mustangs4321 hey Tammy, ok now which are we talking about here selling for $8 epoxy pens or epoxy tumblers? OR sublimated tumblers? The pens pretty much that’s a standard price which I myself have sold mine at $9 before but because of how much work and time goes into making them the thought had crossed my mind that they should be sold higher. However I’ve not seen anyone selling higher until @ DAM Fancy Creations which was refreshing to see someone jump out of the normal price ranged for once because of nobody ever doing it that often. That’s including myself lol My comment regarding people pricing lower I was referencing more so on the epoxy tumblers. The pens even at the highest price are still in my opinion easier for people to swallow paying as opposed to a tumbler priced at $45 because your right they are expensive but the thing is when it’s taking you 3 days to design, glitter, seal, epoxy, repeat, that’s only $15 a DAY, not an hour, and unfortunately customers have no idea how long it really takes to make these to justify them spending $45when realistically they should be more. I’ve never seen an epoxy tumbler priced that low so I can’t imagine your talking about them. The sublimation tumblers are a little time but nowhere near the work for epoxy. I’ve seen them as low as $15 which again I believe is to low because the cost of your tumbler alone most times is about half that.
On the craft fairs I agree for places like that is fine to price low. Those are places kinda known for getting good deals and it allows others who normally wouldn’t be able to purchase them purchase. I’m speaking on sellers online who either 1, aren’t experienced and are selling over priced crap,, or 2, are 15 year olds who are making quality items but are selling them way to cheap because the value of a dollar isn’t the same to them as it is for adults. A $20 is a lot of money to a kid especially when they have no other obligations. Lol
The craft fairs , or any other private ways people hustle their items isn’t my business because it doesn’t have the chance to concern me (directly.) When it’s online it has the ability to affect the future of everyone sale making all the other items look as if their over priced when in actuality they should be costing more.
But I guess this will always be an issue though because what’s low to someone might not be for someone else, and the same for what’s high.
Your craft fairs sound awesome! I’ve never gone to one, always wanted to but never have because of how dangerous it would be for me! 😂
glad to see you working outside.
So cute!!!! Now I have to give these a try because I know so many people who have a pen obsession. Love these!!!
Yes! Go for it!
@@damfancycreations 🙃😊
best pen tutorial I have seen thus far! thank you.
Thank you so much!
I’ve watched soooo many video’s recently to use uv resin and glitter. This was the best tutorial! Thank you so much ❤❤❤
Thank you!!
I decided to jump into glitter pens. I have UV Resin, pens and the sticks and noodle holders. I made a shopping list of the other supplies I will need to follow your tutorial
Awesome! I am sitting here making some right now haha!
@@damfancycreations I shared your video to my FB Feed but haven't announced I'll be making them. I need to get out to buy the rest of the stuff. They may be just for me or stocking stuffers. Waterslide looks kind of easy. Do you have the supplies listed in video? I didn't look yet. Also have you changed any products since you made this video? The supplies I ordered on early prime day yesterday arrive tomorrow. I figured I could take apart the pens to get started
I just might have to try these. Thanks for the awesome tutorial.
Great tutorial! This looks so easy and plus I already have the spray yay! Thank you!
Of course! ❤️❤️❤️
Awesome tutorial!
I like your candy corn shirt
Haha thanks 😄
These are super cute
Great video. One of my favorite on pen tutorials. Thanks
Thank you for sharing you made it so easy I’ve been doing my pins in h20 💦 with up light 💡
I have seen people use water but I haven’t tried that yet!
Great tutorial! Can i ask which respirator do you use?
Best tutorial! Thanks!
Glad it helped!
Thank you for a great tutorial! The pens are adorable!
Really liked the tutorial learned that you can use UV resin. Thank you!
Awesome tutorial 🥰
Great video💫what is the number of your sand paper on the block💫
I typically use 60/80 grit. It is pretty rough!
I’ve always loved the resin pens and I love the simple materials needed. I’ve always wanted to try uv resin.
I love CCDIYs UV resin/m. It is the best I have tried, cured in 60 seconds for most items.
What refills do you use? I love all of your tutorials. Very concise and entertaining at the same time!
I was thinking of charging $5 for my pens and the trying to explain how I came the cost. Yep, price immediately adjusted.
I love your creations though. Beautiful work.
Good for you! Know what your time is worth!
I’m new to UV resin. Should we allow the spray paint to gas off before applying the UV resin?
With anything, I try to wait until the ‘spray paint’ smell is gone. Typically overnight.
Very thorough, thank you!🥰🐸
Cuántas capas de resina le pones, con resina uv no lo pones a dar vueltas? O lo colocas en lámparas UV
I put as many layers as I need until the pen is smooth.
What kind of UV resin do u use? And can the resin be used on tumblers? Is it food safe and non-toxic? Do u wear a respirator with the UV resin?
The uv resin I use is by CCDIY- it is linked in the description.
No, UV resins are not compliant with FDA standards. I would recommend working in a well ventilated area when using UV resin but others brand may have different requirements. :)
Cuando le pegas las manchas de leopardo, No echas resina?
Leopard spots before the resin.
Great video, did u cut your leopard print with a Cricut or silhouette cutter.
I have a cameo. :)
wondering if I can go ahead and spray paint the lil tip of pen (black piece) and seal it with the clear coat?
Could you put your turner outside with the pens on it and put a clear tub over it while its outside to get sun?
You don’t need to put them on a turner. I just set the stand outside in the sun and they are cured in 5 mins tops.
Welll I might just try these now since u made it look not so hard!! And I literally have everything to make them with!!
Get to it, girl!
@@damfancycreations when do you wash with soap and water. Can you resin after vinyl?
What size straws r u using 30, 40 etc to fit in pens? Thank you for the tutorial.
I am just using the straws that come with the tumbler I purchase. Are you asking about length? Probably 5-7” are the ones I use.
Todas las resinas UV hay que secar con la lámpara?
Yes, UV resin is cured by a uv light or the sun!
Y que tiempo le ponen , gracias por responder
@@dulismorales852 depends- most uv resins- about 3-5 minutes
I feel like this may be a dumb question, but does it have to be hot outside or is it just the sunlight in general?
Just sun light! The UV rays are what cure the resin. :)
love this tutorial but how did you clean the paint brush. I tried it but i had to throw mine out
Thanks! I have a old container i use to pour a little acetone in and I sit my brushes in there- then smoosh them around then clean really well with dawn. :)
Can i ask where you get ur decals from for ur pens?
Links to files is in the description 🥰
Cómo se llama eso que le pegas?y donde lo compras? Y luego de eso usas resina?
The pens are ‘paper mate ink joy gel’. You can buy them off Amazon. I use UV resin. :)
What do you do when there’s no sun?
I only make pens when it is sunny out. You can use a UV light but I prefer to use natural light bc it cures so much quicker.
Can you put stickers on the pens and another coat of resin?
Just regular stickers? You should be able to- I would test them first to make sure they won’t bleed.
@@damfancycreations Thank you!
Any specific reason why you just didn’t purchase pins without the little piece that you have to snap off?
These unscrew completely, you have a smooth surface to work with (no threads anywhere) and you can buy refills easily for this brand. :)
I am way too slow at glittering to use clear spray paint. I use double sided tape for my pencil pens. I make too many to keep going outside to reapply the spray paint lol
Haha! One good coat should stay tacky for quite awhile! As long as it’s gloss and not matte!
Do you ever have issues with your Rustoleum 2x white ever clogging? I never have any issues with any of their colors except for their white!
Sometimes some of my color get clogged in the nozzle- I typically save my GOOD nozzles and use them when others get clogged 😄
@@damfancycreations that’s funny I do the same. lol Hobby Lobby actually sells a little pack of like 6 nozzles. (The only thing with them is that they’re different size spray (coverage amounts) which doesn’t bother me any because I wouldn’t use them for any detail work. Like $3 bucks for 6 brand new nozzles in the paint Dept.
Wow your colors clog that’s so bizarre because mine really rarely do. Only white I have trouble with and it’s every single spray can. I can use it maybe 3-4 times if that. Really frustrating.
Your pencil pen is adorable btw. I love the depth you did on it. It’s so realistic looking where the metal part connects the eraser. Love it.
Thanks for sharing. ❤️
When your spraying the glossy clear paint do you have it over something or is it a drip spray. I could see exactly how you were spraying before you added the glitter.
I just spray the clear spray paint all over the pen and sprinkle the glitter. I spray outside (which it why you couldn’t see it in frame) 😃
@@damfancycreations Oh okay, it was so quick that it seemed like U stayed right by the table.
@@pennywilson7717 haha I was right by my back door… makes for a quick ‘open and spray’ 😂
Quedaron muy lindos
Very informative thanks do you clear spray to glitter your cups also as a adhesive?
I do. :)
@@damfancycreations thanks I’m definitely going to try that ,and was happy to know I did need a Light for the resin 😘
So do you do this outside? Or do you spray it in your house? Honest question here lol
Can you reattach the clip?
May I ask how you clean your brush after uv resin is on it
I have a glass jar I use for my craft- I pour some acetone in and leave my brush for a few minutes until the UV resin is off and then wash well with dawn. :)
How long did you leave the pens outside?
Around 5 minutes, and rotate them. It will depend on your UV resin and how sunny it is 🥰
My pens didn't come out shiny after I washed with soap do I add another layer of uv resin?. Before or after I add vinyl
You will definitely need another layer of resin after you add vinyl. :)
@@damfancycreations thank you so much for answering my question I appreciate you
What’s the size again for the wrap please
She stated that she made hers 1.5 x 4.5
I use a uv light box for my pens I got mines from Amazon
What kind of UV resin do u use?
We’re can I buy the resen you used please
It’s linked in the description :) (CCDIY)
How do you clean out the brush you used to apply the resin
With a paper towel soaked in acetone. :)
@@damfancycreations thank you
How many coats of resin do you use?
I don’t ever set a limit, I just apply how ever many (thin) layers I meed until the pens are smooth. :)
Is the UV resin you use a low odor?
I personally think any UV resin has an odor when it is curing, which is why I like to place them in the sun and walk away- I don’t have to smell it. The CCDIY UV resin does have a lower odor than the ones I have used from Amazon.
Hi how do you get them smooth. The first one I have done is dull and looks like it’s got wax on it?
I sand really well so that the pens are very very smooth and then apply a final layer of the resin.
If it appears dull then your resin may not have cured all the way. I have tried different UV Resins and ccdiy has been the best I have tried and had the shiniest finish. :)
@@damfancycreations when do you sand after there dry before the soap and vinyl?
@@jennczochara9844 yep!
Where did you get the straws?
These are straws that come with my cup order. Either from Hogg or Puzzle Tumblers.
Why do you not do the tip???
The tip of the pen? I haven’t ever seen the tip done before- not sure how it could be done but you could definitely try it!
First 🥳🤩
Haha 🥳🥳🥳
What do you sale your 🖊 pen’s for? 💵 💳
I sell mine for $15. :)
You don't need to waste time sanding! The resin will cling no problem. I make acrylic keychains and don't sand the clear blanks. Absolutely no problems whatsoever with adhesion. You're wasting valuable time, especially if you factor in your time to price the pens.
Yiero is another lovely resin and it doesn't smell. It has an odor but it is so slight I barely noticed it.
I mainly sanded to smooth everything out. I have since moved on to the stainless pens.
I also make acrylic blanks and have had the sheet of glitter/resin pop off when I didn’t sand. Too slick to form a permanent bond- that is just my experience though :)
I have started used ‘Let’s Resin’ UV resin and love it, no odor and cures so quick!
