(shame on me I know), just bought myself some new poi to get me started up again, get a little exercise, so just thought I would take a look at how the styles have changed and see if I could pick up on some new moves. great vid. very inspirational, thanks dude!

That was great fluidity and beautiful mix of moves. People like you are what has got my husband who use to spin daily to get back into it and learn more. Take the "I can't do that" into a more positive "I will keep learning until I can do that" poi has changed so much since 1997 and I love how it advances and morphs into so much more. Great video and thanks for sharing. Much love.(o tired to post this on main post but wouldn't work but when o saw your comment I felt you could relate. Don't give up, follow your flow!

Regarding fuels, Kero burns for a reasonable amount of time and fairly brightly, however it absolutely REEKS, and it will leave residue and soot on you and your equipment. Your best bet is firesol (or firewater or firelight) Google and/or ask around at stores in your area.
Failing that, Methylated spirits works fine as well (probably the easiest and cheapest to get) but it does smell.

This is a great fire performance. You have excellent control of your poi. By the way thanks again for sending me your M Research video it was very impressive. My suggestions on where you should go if you are getting stuck is under the legs. It allows you to add a new element to your spinning by animating the movements of your legs.

dream it, let your heart take you there. Get out there, spin and spin and spin again! Push yourself and enjoy every little step-up that naturally comes, appreciate the flow for revealing itself to you each time.
      Every time.
Put your heart and soul into it, for it shall grow over time. As the years add up, you shall grow along with flow.

usually with alot of other types of poi the lightweight makes it harder to do things smoothly slowly also in the case of glow poi and glowstringing you need a certain amount of speed to create the true effect (PS glowstringing was created in the rave scene so ofc its to techno) as for fire poi i find it very hard to find a video that isnt like this theres very few fire poi videos that are done fast and to techno music

A few names comes in my mind. For Poi, I would say a big influence on my journey would be Burning Dan, Alien Jon, Ronan McLoughlin and Keith Marshall.
And Keith with his clubs led me to EJC 2013. There my journey evolved into clubs heavily. Bach la Ouach, Mikel Ayala, Bruno Delgado, Samuel Youde and alot of the french style jugglers.
