Dear Nick, as a photoshopper I run into this tut of you regarding Inkscape. Since I watched this tut I have read and see much more of the possibilities of Inkscape it has some great advantages. Thanks a lot. Paul (The Netherlands)
Hi Nick! Such great tutorials you've made really blow my mind. You just give me the concept that "Ahh... this is how things done in the background" instead of "I just draw the box and the shadow, and then stick them together." Components are covering each other and covered by each other which provides me a new perspective to see the world. Thank you very much. Your videos are just like "How it's made" program on television.
This whole tutorial was awesome, especially that barcode extension. Didn't know Inkscape even had that 😁 I thought I was subbed already, but I realized I wasn't 🥺 Anyway, you have my subscription now😊 Thanks a lot Nick. I've been Inkscaping for almost two years now, but it doesn't hurt to learn more 🥳😇
Hi Nick, I assume that you could create this using the isometric grid in the newer version with similar results. Great work and thanks for sharing your knowledge of a great free program.
Except that it isn't perfect. The upper left flap is too short to reach the tape, and it definitely won't reach the lower right flap, it won't seal. The coloring is nice.
Your tutorials are fantastic. I am not very computer literate and try to follow your videos on a separate monitor while you do things. Is my version of Inkscape way different from yours or am doing things wrong. I look for the tabs you are using and cant find them on my Inkscape screen.
Hey, Nick! I have learned a lot about Inkscape just by watching your tutorials. You're the best using that tool! Is there an easy way to put one letter on each visible face of a 3D box with perspective? I tried using 'object to path' but it's hard to fix the letters' shapes manually. Thank you!
+Fabiano Clavé You can select your letter, then select the box you want the letter in and go to Extensions > Modify Path > Envelope. Make sure both objects are paths though. This will 'fit' your letter into the box you selected, so you should probably first make a smaller box on the face where you want the letters.
+Fabiano Clavé Thanks Fabiano. That's a little difficult to explain by writing it out, but I'll try to include it into a tutorial in the near future. +versnellingspook explained a method that will certainly work.
@@denoogle The base should be ligher tone than the back wall and the walls shadow on the base should be also 45 deg decline from left to right, but you are correct about the visibility
nice Thing! i Think from this angle of view you should be able to see a tiny part of the box bottom? its a Little confusing to look at the box that way.
hi nick - a simple question how do you create a perfect circle ? tried pressing control and shift and then dragging - but always end up with a slightly non circle shape - a shape not a perfect circle
Thanks for answer, i asked you because the icons look so cool, but the version is a few old, so i supouse that is some theme of ubuntu may be the cause of this good appearence. Other thing that i want to know is the name of the tool that you use it for the video screencast, i am teacher and sometimes i do video tutorials for my students, i can see that you catch the keys and mouse clicks too. Thanks and congratulation for your very good tutorials.
Big thanks you to! I went through this tutorial step by step and I was able to create it! The only thing I changed was the fragile sign to "my box". fav.me/da5jm0m
Loving both the Inkscape AND Gimp tutorials ... keep going!!
You are very good teacher.....hope all my teachers will be like you.....thanks a lot

wow that vertex dark theme for linux looks damn good!
I love it. Haven't gotten tired of it yet, and I'm somebody who gets tired of designs and aesthetics quickly.
This is brilliant! Keep up good work :-)
Nice tutorial. Thanks.
+Ron Brooks Thanks!
Worked really well!
Cheers
+Nadine White Glad to hear
love this Nick, but...
where is the base inside the box?
sorry ;)
+Simon Barnsley From this perspective, it wouldn't be visible. That's how I intended the design, anyway.
+Nick Saporito (LogosByNick) my apologies. love the videos.
No need to apologize. It was a very valid remark. Thanks for watching!
+denoogle That's what I thought.
@@denoogle The base should be ligher tone than the back wall and the walls shadow on the base should be also 45 deg decline from left to right, but you are correct about the visibility
a great tutorial! as usual! thanks!
Hi Nick, coming to this tutorial 5 yers on is there anyway to make the current version of inkscape like you have it here? I can barely find anything.
Not that I'm aware of. You can still download older versions of Inkscape from their website though. I believe this was version 0.48.
I have a question...how to visualize the shapes needed to draw?? Any trick?
Brilliant! Thank you :)
what's the left-bottom mouse keyboard monitor software you're using? name or link please.
Its way easy to make a 3d model in blender and take a PNG image render...
But I really want to learn vector graphic😻😻
Hi Nick, how do we edit shared gradients in version 0.91 r13725? I can only seem to edit single gradients at a time. Thanks
I don't think there's a way to do that just yet.
Very nice! Thanks it helped me for in other project. :))
+Professornee E Glad to hear that! Thanks for watching.
If the front edge of the box is casting a shadow to the left, why is the flap on the right NOT casting its shadow in the same direction?
Looks so easy, i have 3 hours i try to make a euro pallet :))
You're pretty good.
I like it, really amazing :) :)
+ahmed deia Thank you
