I drove the 43 Kennedy route over 10-15 years ago so this kind of brings back memories
I believe “Appliance Bazaar” used to be a “Tiger Direct” electronics/computer store. I remember getting my first “serious computer” from them in ‘99, a pentium 3/266MHz machine with a whopping 32 megs of ram.
The northbound lanes are on Kennedy, while the southbound lanes are on Midland.
I can't believe Deja Vu Discs is still around. Ran into Scarborough legend Saukrates in there once.
Thanks Johnny❤
childhood memories
Good morning everyone. ✌
Thanks for that video johnny show more ❤
As always beautiful sharing and I really appreciate and enjoy watching your lifestyle documentary video channel .. keep it up and thanks again Jhonny
Good morning
Glad you were able to improvise.
Kennedy road = Furniture store road.
In regards to the red bus lanes for the Line 3 replacement:
For buses going north/east to STC, they use Kennedy Rd from Eglinton up to Ellesmere
For buses going south/west to Kennedy, they use Midland Ave from Ellesmere to Eglinton
good morning everyone I can't wait for your april fools prank tomorrow
This is a blast from the past. I commuted in from Oshawa to work at the Ryder Transportation branch at 1249 Kennedy from fall 2002 until fall 2005. The character of the neighbourhood hasn't changed at all since that time. Many of the stores have changed ownership, but that stretch of Kennedy remains primarily furniture and electronics retailers.
You messed up reeaal bad 😠👊 my beloved Scarborough 😭
You should pop over to Lawrence and Kingston before they convert all the major plazas over here to condos in the next few years. All the retail will be gone forcing everyone over to Ceder Brae Mall 5km to the west for all their shopping.
The computer stores you see on Kennedy there are some of the last remaining independent stores left in the Toronto area of any significant size. Canada computers are chief among them.
Shocked by the ridiculous low number of food options there. I didn’t see one until the 11:00 mark or so.😊
Thats is one of the few remaining Starbucks in Scarborough. They closed several locations including the one at the morning side mall that is now a Mr. Puffs.
Good. We don’t need overpriced coffee in Scarborough.
The reason why a dedicated bus lane 7:43 is because for the derailment of the RT.
Hello from Greece
14:22. I worked here for 24 years. Retire this June. Hopefully,,,
Scarborough looks so much like Hamilton. lol Bunch of strip malls, no pedestrians, residential areas right in the middle of high car volume areas.
Hi Johnny, have you ever been to the Pacific Mall ? ( Kennedy + Steeles ).
Yeah, that would have been a great compromise. Pacific Mall is even open on Christmas, so I imagine it would have been open Friday, too.
I have, security doesn't like cameras there though :(
Future Shop 😪
Love the olde English street names like ShropShire
For sure you can’t claim that full body massage service on your insurance in less you are Jack Layton with a bad back going to the infamous VELVET TOUCH MASSAGE
What do people do there for fun ?
Go downtown (born and raised Scarberian here).
Adult movie shop ? Did you film this back in 1975 ?
18:37 "ADULT MOVIES" with some Old School VHS Porn :)))
It's actually pronounced Scarbeeria
That is worst excuse for a bike lane. I guess it was too expensive to dig up the grass and actually add a proper bike lane safe from traffic.
There's plenty of those around here, not just Toronto. Canada isn't known for bicycle safety, and the drivers do NOT make it any better
Bike only lanes are slowly being introduced which are partitioned off from the road. I saw a few in Markham and Vaughan. Hopefully this becomes a new trend.
When a place is built for cars and profit like for rats and not for humans, this is what you get.
I don’t think it is even built for cars to be honest. The whole city is rough to get through irregardless of whether you are driving, walking or cycling.
Scarborough is lacking a lot more than that
Welcome to our neighborhood, we hate it here.
Why do you keep doing videos in this part of Toronto when you don't like it?
If by "keep doing" you mean do a few a year then sure...
What a major major complete horror show
Shame on you Johnny you bad boy putting us through this depressing place
Get back to Bangers to show us real life not this depressing waste land
How do people live there without slitting their wrist ?
:} You go to the zoo. You jog through the many parks. Get entertained at the Ch. Cultural Centre. Canoe on the Rouge R. Visit the bluffs. Learn to be versatile and adapt.
Can't wait for the carbon tax tomorrow 😢
