It is most definitely true that you should coast in gear/drive to save fuel as the wheels will be turning the engine using the downhill momentum, and the car will you 0.0 litres of fuel 😉 Great video as always .

Most people dont understand and will argue to put it in neutral
Not necessarily the best strategy. True, it will use no fuel while coasting downhill, but your speed at the bottom of the hill will then be slower, requiring much more fuel to accelerate again, relative to the negligible amount that would have been required to keep the engine idling. The only time in-gear is a better strategy in terms of fuel consumption is when you need to brake anyway.
Manager's tip is true... It'll use fuel as if it were strictly idling.
Another benefit of that is how the engine is engaged to the clutch and transmission, so it'll just keep going...
But downshift to a lower gear [to engine brake] so that you don't always slam the brakes... And if you have wide tyres you shouldn't brake at all.😂

That Audi fuel consumption is quite high, I have the EA888 Gen 3B 2.0L in my Polo and on long trips I average between 5.7 and 6.2L /100KM.

People usually correlate rpm to fuel consumption.
Going downhill will increase your rpm to match the wheel/transmission speed, but fuel consumption will be negligible.
Ei that topic is very tricky to most people they just dont understand so yah eish…
