Brilliant device, well thought out and solid quality through and through. Since I bought one a couple of months ago I've found I almost completely stopped gaming on my PC. The library of quality games you can collect is staggering... and the case just takes out all the physical fiddliness associated with emulation on single board computers. And the aesthetics are... flawless. Guys, I think I'm in love and I believe she's a keeper. :D
So much cool stuff coming out! Awesome stuff Drew!
Amazing case!!! Thank you so much for sharing Drew...
Indeed!
Nice video. Mine just arrived today and Its fantastic, now need to get some of them controlers
Nice!!! Differently picking one up.
Yeah the hype is real is on this case
The only thing that missing is a nice 256gb nes style image and it would be the ULTIMATE pi project. I just love nespi case as I love Drew's videos.
I was just thinking about this! Thanks!
Thumbs up for the review, I'm looking at getting this case. Would the Pi3B+ with that kintaro heatsink fit in there?
Cool! Thanks for the video. I was debating on getting a new case for my B+ or recycling my VaderPi case.
My power and reset buttons are not working. It said the script was already downloaded or something like that when i typed the command, and never reboots.
When i turn it on with power button led comes on then goes out. Power and reset buttons do nothing. I have to shut down from menu- quit- shutdown. It shuts down but fan stays on. I have to unplug the power cord. When i plug it back everything is off. Any suggestions? Safemode switch is turned on inside.
Is there a way to delete script so i can try and download it again?
drew, I have the motion blue 128gb image which I love. I've been trying to install the shutdown script but it keeps giving me 403 forbidden, what do you suggest? I've customized the hell out of this image and it's absolutely perfect, what can I do?
How do you get the side art during the game play?
Ive noticed quite a performance loss in my games since installing the script. Not sure what's up with that. Thinking it may have too much Overhead. I had a similar issue with the Super Kintaro and after bringing it to their attention they updated the script and that issue was remedied. I hope Retroflag does the same
Nice! Glad they updated it. You also have an under voltage detected warning at 5:52. I get the same thing sometimes. How do we remedy this? I already have the correct 2.5 A power supply.
That's why I stopped using this case. I am using the right PS, but I still get it. I assume it has to do with the board and how it's handling USB, plus the fan, etc. Not sure though.
Drew the Pi Guy! Could I go with a Pi Zero W in this case? (As far as screw holes lining up) I would need to hot glue the Hdmi adapter, but I'd like to create a Pi build with only Nes games. And a Pi Zero would be a cheaper option. Great video as always man.
Great, back to amazon..LOL The poor guy just left my house and now I HAVE to order this! BTW Drew, I do order the official power supply and I do sometimes get the lightning bolt. Not sure why
hahaha well at least we are keeping people employed :)
Get a NorthPada 5v 3A supply and no more lightning bolt
DrewTalks try to used a 3a power supply.
Just ordered one. Here we go again for the amazon delivery guy...LOL
I have 2 of those iNext controllers they're pretty good, only thing I did was take it apart and put a little scotch tape in a diamond shape on the contacts to help with Miss presses, you'll see it if you try and slide in super Mario bros
ahhhhh nice! Full of helpful tips!
I've mine now 2-3 years but the text on the buttons comes of... Even the original has fine buttons.
First version of the internal usb board is shit. This consumes occasionally too much energy and triggers and voltage warning. But wasn't an issue until now.
Use original pi 2.5A DC with a pi3
Are there really "good" alternatives?
Other problem that has been solved with the RetroFlag cases and power issues, is to clean the contacts on the pcb of the pi and the one in the case to make sure of a good connection. I used rubbing alcohol.
good to know! ty
@drewtalks hi there. i heard you mention the undervoltage issue and that you havent experienced it. Have you ever had two madcatz arcade sticks hooked up?
no never I have heard you can get a 3amp power supply which is even better though...
DrewTalks 3amp power supply? cool any links you could share?

DrewTalks thanks bud. Gotta see if i can get one with the Aus plug
Does anybody else's keyboard not type the "|" symbol right before sudo bash?
Go to your menu:
-raspberry config
-localization
-all (this will kick you back to the raspberry config menu)
-localization
-keyboard set up
-it’ll give you UK options and other (here select other and then US and this will kick you back to where the UK options were and you will see them replaced with US options. Then at the top with be US)
-find your keyboard
-standard layout
-finish
Then you can exit out and you will have the | so long as it is on your keyboard.
Anyone know a good UK seller?
still has the network cable in the front that in my eyes is the biggest flaw even though the case looks nice but that shouldn't be in the front.
Hmm.. never bothered me I must say since I have it on wifi all the time... I guess the physical network port is there for emergencies, never used it actually. The bigger flaw may be the extra USB ports in front which are not recessed enough to allow the flap to close when using a usb transmitter for keyboard and mouse. But you can solve that by physically installing the transmitter within the case as there are unused USB ports still available in there.
Does the fan turn off with the power button? Wondering if anyone tested it yet
yes it does
DrewTalks thanks Drew...looking forward to the new wicked aluminum case review...have you gotten a chance to get your hands on one?
i have not seen the new one no
If you want NES decals for this case, I offer them in different styles. Rear decals also. Drew did a video on my NES and SNES case decals awhile back. You should go watch his video.
Make sure to not have a Micro SD card insert I just broke a 256gb card learn from my mistakes.
Derrick Kohlhorst what actually happened?
I had my SD card already in the pi while putting the pi into the case wasn't quite lining up so I pushed it a little and ... snap.

I just finished putting my case together with a new sd card and installed the script working great now. This is my first pi so I am making mistakes. I note for people installing the script on the vm image the keyboard is set to uk so you need to run the keyboard utility and set it to us and setup a gr button so you can type the bar. Type sudo dpkg-reconfigure keyboard-configuration and once your finished setting up, power cycle the pi then you'll be in us keyboard.
They should mold a screwdriver holder into the bottom of the case.
They include the screwdriver, why not make a compartment to hold it.
that would be cool
