I saw them at Newcastle City Hall on the same tour. when they did this song they went mental - but it got a bit silly - one of the cello players' bows flew out of his hand and went among us youngsters down the front going mental with them - he was looking over the side of the stage trying to find it - then Jeff broke a bloody guitar string! - great gig.

I don't know of many songs that are as gratuitously rock and roll as this song. It's like they took the essence of rock and roll, ground it up into a fine powder, sniffed a bit, then added liberal helpings of win to the rest and moulded this song. Even the studio version from CD is like this.
This song changed my life! I was a 15 year old kid tasked with watching my younger sister while my parents were out. I turned on that weeks episode of Don Kirschner’s Rock concert and was blown away by this group’s performance of a classic rock and roll song. Thank you ELO !!!!!!!!!!!

I was hone on leave and was jumping for joy when I found out they would visit again!! with face the music....then saw them again in mid 1977 with new world record tour they had 2 sold out shows at cobo,arena ( detroit mi ) close 2nd in favorite elo concert .. they came to Detroit..many times
I feel that it is important for any band to be good. But, to be 'insanely'-good, maybe should be recognized differently. ELO is setting the mark here. And I feel that 'that mark' has stood for over four decades . . . and is still going strong.
And this was back when tickets werent expensive, and this footage looked like the damn best show anybody ever performed anywhere anytime. Theys guys were rockin their asses off and ix bet the roofed rose up about 2 inches. Nobody, i dont care who it is, will never top this.❤
I saw them live around this same time in Charleston, WV. The BEST concert I ever went to. Period. They finished w an encore and this is what they did. No one wanted to leave when it was over.
I have seen 20 different videos and heard lots of different taped versions of this song. This one beats them all. Everyone on that stage was rocking their asses off. The music quality didn't suffer because of the live performance either. Great job!

This is an Ok version of Roll-Over, but if U want to hear the absolute Best, do a youtube search on "Original Promo, 1973" It has the best ELO lineup of all - Wilf on violin & his yellow cape. Absolutely nothing compares to his performance!! Let me know what you think. 8 and a half minutes long! It will totally blow you away. Twice as much energy as this, & the audio quality is much better. This one rings in my ears!
