It's so nice to see this! You and Nicko were my main influences on drums outside Brazilian music, primarily when I start playing. I didn't play double pedal and I used to play a lot of Iron Maiden so your influence was intrinsic underneath my style: some rhythms, patterns and a lot of feeling. When you started posting the videos, the origin of things I play suddenly became clearer. Even though the song was first recorded by Clive Burr, to myself, your version seems to be "more" based upon the 80's live versions with Nicko. I can absolutely affirm that it wouldn't be possible to be the drummer and the drum teacher I am without you two. Tank you, again! It's always fun to see you play!
This maybe Maiden's top song and just kudos for playing that up 🤘🤘 Now as I hear, it has become more complex with more tom fills and double pedal parts. Those doubles fit in excellent, as for the fills some of them seem too much. Surely it's a new and fresh view of the song. Well done for playing it 👍 Be well and waiting for the next one 👌

I noticed like about 1.5 minutes before the end of the song, the track seems to speed up then goes back to normal when he kicks in with the double bass.. I know maiden is known for recording some studio tracks live.. either way, im just nitpicking. one of my fav drummers of all time
Yes, my dear friend, they definitely did record it without metronome! That's what it made so hard to keep the timing over it for me. I tried producing an AI Click track, but it also failed by all the rhythm and timing changes of the original. But it was normal in those years, still today sometimes, to record without click track. That's what made music live and differ from each other's skills!
