Für mich war nach "Imaginations..." Schluss mit Blind Guardian. Von da an wurde mir das alles zu "sanft". Klar ist Frederick ein echt guter Drummer aber ich höre lieber die Alben davor. Auch die erste Iron Savior lief bei mir rauf und runter.
Bei "Nightfall In Middle Earth" fand ich noch die Silmarillion-Thematik geil,aber für mich war das schon mehr Progressive Rock. Ich glaub auch das Dir das schon nicht mehr ganz so sehr gefallen hat. Ich will das Album nicht schlecht machen,aber es fehlen eben echte Kracher wie "Born In A Mourning Hall" oder "Journey Through The Dark".

I like idea how you give intentionally release to some drum parts, and not use doouble bass all the time which power metal drummers tend to do. It sounds much more musical and gives dynamics to overal song. You can feel where by style of playing what is verse, and what is bridge and chorus. Keep it up! Thomen, you have a certain dance or dynamic to your drumming. Your way of hitting the drums has a certain dynamic to it, it doesn't sound mechanic if you know what I mean. This feel, dance and dymanic unfortunately got lost as in the Blind Guardian music as you left the band. Have adored your way of playing since mid 90's, was a member of the Circle of the Bards fan club as well. Those were the days 🙂 God bless you man!

I would love to see you make a video explaining your thrashbeat technique with the extra kick hits in the middle (between kick and snare). I always felt that your right foot is doing a double hit thing (followed by a mere 1 left foot hit) but I can't figure out the exact pattern.
