its NOT allways about SELL SELL SELL how much can i get its about listening to the music on the RECORDS and enjoy it
I used to know the perfect guy to take care of these rekkids. He is based in NJ. Buys all this kind of stuff that no one else wants for eight cents a piece. The only requirement is the jackets are clean, and these jackets are super clean. This guy was a life-saver when my friend and I would get in collections and the dreck would build up, especially when my friend bought a 40,000-rekkid collection! We couldn't believe he was actually paying us for this stuff. It was all that easy listening and big band stuff you can't give away these days. We thought we would have to pay to dispose of it. I wonder if he is still buying these days.
I'm a new subscriber and I have to say that I had quite a horde in my own home a couple of years ago. I sold 10,000 vinyl albums (most of my collection), to Princeton Record Exchange. I still have nearly that amount in my collection, the records I didn't sell.
I think it's cool that you seek out and find these collections and resell them to folks who appreciate them. Record collecting is such a great hobby, but I attended some of the best concerts of all time, and I still listen to the albums of bands I've seen in person.
I would have snatched up that Nancy & Lee album in a heartbeat, but I don't blame you guys for not wanting to clog up the store with 600 Herb Alpert records.
We grabbed all the Nancy sinatra!
I pay $100 for any and all Herb Alpert records, regardless of condition. $200 if it’s a rarer album like ‘Whipped cream and other delights’
I have bought a lot of those records for very cheap at our local thrift store. So much music, so little time. Bert Kempfert music I like. 1950's-1960's were great years for popular music. I buy a lot of classical LP's.
Um sonho, aqui no Brasil é muito difícil encontrar e ainda mais nesse estado de conservação
Nancy & Lee!!! Jesus that record is worth bucks!!!
Really enjoy watching your adventures guys. I bought over a 100 Stan Kenton albums for £10 in the UK. I thought there'd be a bunch I could sell for £5, I struggled to sell any. He's just not cool enough like you say. My dad likes him tho...😊 I think the U Haul invitation is based on the sheer volume of awfulness. I always buy nice Sinatra records for a dollar (£1)... You get $5 for most Reprise records in decent shape... I know what you mean when you find that Miles Davis record ( hell ever Donny Hathaway is promising 😊). Hope it was worth the trip... PS pick up the Soundtracks, I saw Superman, Das Boat and all those James Bond John Barry soundtracks. They're decent sellers if picked up cheap, $10-$20 sellers no problem.
Since I found you guys, I support your channel.
I was really hoping you guys would find some killer stuff. Its still fun looking..you never know.
Never know unless ya look! Some of our best finds ever were from picks just like this!
Great video!!! Lookin good Dani!!!
Thanks for watching!
There were a few good records. I would have taken all Sinatra all Ronstadt. Gershwin. The Nancy Sinatra Lee hazel wood would be a good pick. But that’s just my taste.
We got all the Nancy and a ton of Frank! Thanks for watching 🤗
I had my eye on a Julie London record, the Cats Broadway soundtrack, and Leonard Bernstein Rhapsody in Blue. Maybe not necessarily holy grails, but if they were in great condition, you could have gotten something out of them, at least from me 😁 ( Ivette)
We may have grabbed those! Not sure. Will check tho at the shop hehe!
cats is def a pickup, while not everyone's taste it holds a value of 10-20$
I have the Leonard Bernstein LP, was amazed to see it here😮. I still play mine, love that music.
I have never seen so many Stan Kenton records in my life. These were definitely owned by people of my father's generation, I thought that as soon as I started seeing Montovanti albums. The only people who have ever willingly purchased a Montovanti album was someone born in the 1930's and back.
I was born in 1948 and ha e a lot,of Mantovani records. And Mancini, and Kostelanetz. Don't generalise people😮
Love Record hoarders. That is if they take care of them
These were in amazing shape. Sadly not the genres we like to see
Feel so sorry for people who are compulsive hoarders. Not just the records, all the STUFF.😢
That was unfortunate that the collector had really generic taste. I was hoping you might at least find some awesome soundtracks ... but no such luck. Worth the effort 👌. Respect definitely due 👍.. Thanks for sharing.
We trying out here! 🤣 We did buy the top gun ost, the James bond ones.
90 Percent landfull albums... people want metal psych prog rap reggae and synth pop.. and 90s rock ! 60s hazz is good but it has to be the right stuff !
Check out a Poco song called " legend" or " drivin wheel". They don't suck
Been there, done that. Sorry the dig was a loser. I probably would have grabbed the Bond soundtracks with Duran Duran and Sheena Easton songs.
Grabbed all the bond! And top gun. Some sinatra. Did find a sealed Police lp and some randoms. 3 crates
Did you come across any Stan Kenton?😂😂
I would have bought all the Frank Sinatra and all of the Stan Kenton along with all the other ones
The Groove Holmes "Comin on home" is one of the best organ Jazzfunk records ever. Down Home Funk & Groovin for Mr G are Monstertracks.
You guys passed Olivia's Greatest Hits Vol. 2? I had that album.
I know for you guys i get Johnny mathis dont pay the bills i get that but just bc there 2 dollar records dont mean there crap.. i have a lot of mathis and sinatra dean martin but im into a little bit of everything so cool dig none the less
It was a joke, but we do this for a living so have to look at it always as a pay the bills scenario. Its how we survive
It sure is a lot of work, looking.
Couldn't they have told you they were #1 Stan Kenton fan??😄
Funny enough I thought it was Stan Getz at first. That's how optimistic I was! Then once the dig started going south I realized it was Kenton 🤣
Stan Kenton Greatest Hits!
Whoever those records belonged to before didn't want them anymore. They took all the good stuff with them.
They were 95 and passed away. Just didn't have good records sadly
Somebody been through that
Your wife found half way decent. Someone took the creme de la creme
I’d give 100 bucks for all the eas listening records
Well, that was time I'm not going to get back.
We felt the same when we went out there 😂 Thanks at least for watching and leaving a comment, unfortunately all the digs can’t be winners!
Obviously since she brought her backpack she wasn't planning on staying long
Where Salvation Army records go to die!
Amen! Such a shame they were so nice too!
@@BacktotheMedia I recall being at the Chelsea Flea Market maybe 10 years ago and some guy had a long container filled with absolutely dead mint 1950's -1960's Pop vocal records. I bought all the Patti Page, they were just so perfect, the laminated covers were gorgeous. Still have them [I like that stuff].
@@allen-rp3gm I know what you're saying! Despite not being popular music genres we can totally appreciate a record that has remained mint condition for upwards of 70 years! Really remarkable
Sleeves worth more than lps, wont need a uhaul for those
Thanks for watching!
hope you gave him at least $100
If you watch the whole video you'll see what we paid
@@BacktotheMedia i tried . i know you have ya hopes up on finding a great collection and pay next to nothing but at least you found 3 crates
@@johne8333 rather just find a great collection and make a great offer. Just like our store has been doing for the past 9 years 🤗
@@BacktotheMedia yeh would be great to do that too . been trying for 30 years , just doesnt happen that often around here
Title is total clickbait you wasted my time just like you wasted your time going there
Welcome to RUclips. Thanks for watching 😂😂
Not a waste of time if you're a 90 year old record collector!
Bummer to have so much of your time wasted.
Comes with the territory. Never know til you look. We still made a date of it 🤗
groove holmes , nancy and lee and 3 crates is not a waste , i woulda done it
