    So educational! I spent 2 hours cleaning mine, same model as this, basically did the tutorial twice (only washed the filters once). My shark looks so much cleaner! I almost went into shock at how much dust came out of my pet motor attachment, which was where I've lost suction the most! Keep doing what you're doing, you're a great help! 👍 🥰
    **UPDATE** My shark is working like new now! All the lost suction has returned, I'm so happy! 😍

    I have a Shark Powered Lift Away DuoClean NV801UK. It’s very similar to the machine demonstrated in your video.
    The main difference is that my machine doesn’t have the anti hair wrap technology. However the advantage I have, is that I can remove the brush roller for cleaning, by simply pulling it out of the floor head. I know Shark have said to use only water for cleaning the filters etc. However, I too found that my filters still looked dirty when using only cold water, so I made two changes.
    I now use warm water and washing up liquid to clean all parts that I used to wash using only cold water. The result is that my filters are virtually white in colour, the bin is totally clean with no smells etc and both rollers are perfectly clean and in pristine condition. I’ve had my machine for three years and as yet have not noticed any ill effects from the use of warm water and washing up liquid. I hope this might save someone from having to fork out for new filters/rollers, just because they have become dirty over time!
    Cheers!

    If you look after your filters they can last alot longer than 2 years. I leave mine to soak in warm soapy water for half an hour then give them a good rinse. As for the hoover bin I wipe mine with a hot damp soapy cloth after rinsing. It comes up like it's just come out of the box. Love cleaning.

      @@lords-electrical you deserve it. Moreover, based on your video alone, I repaired my Nz801, which had started making a horrendous rasping sound when set on carpet mode. I stripped it right down to the component level that you did and thoroughly cleaned every part. The offending item was an inhaler lid jammed behind the main roller, and a surplus of tangled hair which had reduced the suction prior to the noise, but the whe thing works like new again now after the service. I really appreciate your generosity with your time and skill. Cheers, Marco

    You never took the handle out of the top of the wand so they are 2 parts. Wands can then be looked through to check for blockages. Handle/hose can be checked by dropping a small coin into the handle of the disconnected handle/hose part and it should easily run all the way through and drop onto the floor.

Is there anything specific that should be done to prolong the life of the vacuum, (other than keeping it clean and replacing the filters)? basically if you keep the vacuum cleaned and the filters clean then that is as much as you can normally do to prolong the life of a vacuum. Also don't wait for the bin to fill up too much as it can put more of a strain on the motor if the bin is too full.

    Is it cyclonic or multi cyclonic or neither? What’s the secret to preventing/slowing the dust getting to the filters in the first place? Presumably frequent emptying . I’ve got a Vax Zen Pet cylinder vacuum cleaner which is remarkably good at keeping its filters clean; so quiet too. No longer made unfortunately, but if I’m ever considering getting another vacuum cleaner I look very carefully to try and get one that seems to have the same layout , so hopefully equally effective .

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  Год назад +1

      Nothing is mentioned by Shark about it being cyclonic at all.
      You are right that frequent emptying can help the filtration too but you still need to clean and maintain the filters regularly to keep the performance tip top of the vacuum.

    I have the pet hair version and have a German sheperd long hair. This vacuum is really good for the first year but hairs tangle up where they say it should not. It gets so tight the vacuum motor struggles and slows down possible burning out . You need to spend money on Torks head screw drivers to clean it out but don't bother Shark have designed the vacuum so you cannot get to clean the main brush unless you take the whole bottom end off and that includes the motor and circuit board. The only way to clean a small part of the clogged hairs is a fine but stiff piece of wire and try to hook it out. This as i see it is a design fault but has and easy remedy. Will they listen! not a chance. So be aware this is a good vaccum but not for pets with long hair. I rate it 90% out of 100%

    I’ve cleaned it all and it’s amazing but now my roller isn’t activating. The orange and black bit at the bottom isn’t spinning anymore

    I would never run water through this unit. Paint brush and dry cloth only. To clean filters take them out side and tap them with a spoon handle until majority of dust and dirt cleared. The guarantee for mine only covers bad workmanship and random failures. Breaking ascessories or fittings would not be covered. I love my shark and the video is very well done. Always stay within the manufacturers guide lines and mine states clean filters once a month. A blocked vacum cleaner will shorten motor life. Don't forget to bang on Queen "I want to break free" Turn up the vol and enjoy your vac
