  • If your Dyson V15 is pulsing or is not sucking up properly then it could be that it needs to cleaned or maintained. I show how to clean the vacuum to try and help with this problem.
    I also show how to access the menus on the vacuum where you can access other options.

    Thank you! So helpful. I find it humorous that Dyson would contact you to tell you what not to do while cleaning out the vacuum. Why don't they just produce their own official version and provide it like you, so we, the consumers, know how we can properly clean our equipment. We pay so much money to buy a cleaner from them, and their instruction manual is so minimal it is hardly useful. Their online tutorial is very lacking as well.

    • @sashacaba8698

      Agreed like their instructional videos are not even practical for everyday dirt
      If we clean according to their videos our vacuums would get messed up and then we’d have to replace them

    If you have hardwood or tile floors use the green light soft brush attachment. The floors will look completely clean until you put the green light on them. Then you see all of the dust and hair that is really there. It’s amazing and now we vacuum in the dark with the green light on. 😊

No one gonna clean it, and I do it myself, spent two days to get most of the food powder and dust out. Thank you so much for the video, I installed it back after cleaning and it works normally! I have the V11 that is a very similarly design bin and cyclone assembly. Once the outer bin is removed for cleaning, I use a combination of paint prush and a slightly damp micro-fibre cloth to clean the metal mesh part, and any dust off the seals. Ensure that the seals are dry. As for the upper-inside, where the cyclone bits are (you cannot get at those unless you take it apart), a good way to ensure loose dust comes out of that area is to hold it pointing down over a waste bin, and use the handle of a plastic brush to strongly tap the lower thinner section, keep tapping for at least a minute, rotating to different points on the lower end part, as the mechanical tapping action will result in a LOT of fine dust particle falling out of the uppe inside areas. Also, simetimes the bin will get stuck (stiction) on the rubber seals, and the big red lever will not always push it off (you have to rock sidways a bit while pulling to expose the little lock lever), when that happens, use a MINUTE smear of Silicone Grease on the seals (available from automotive shops), and wipe off any excess, otherwise it attracts dust! The ones that stick are the red seal on the bin and where it goes onto on the main part when put back on.

  • @tommyrq180
    @tommyrq180 Год назад +2

    Thank you-very good tutorial. I would just add that on the vacuum head you need to check the internal air passage after removing the dust bin, that is, the central core hole PLUS the one side hole (on gray part above lower dust block) because they can get clogged with hair or other obstructions. Visually check (easiest to shine a light into the side hole and look through bottom hole) but the side hole and central hole require fingers or a flexible brush or long screwdriver to clear it if it’s clogged. Shining a flashlight (torch) into the side hole and viewing from the bottom works pretty well to ensure it’s clear. 😊

    This video really shows the big flaw with al this " bag less" devices, maintenance is actually harder than with a regular paper bag vacuum, these devices eventually will clog up and than you need to do this ....wehn a paper bag is full you simply throw it in the bin, maybe once a year replace the HEPA filter, way more hygienic to use
    ( I use to have a Dyson myself,many years ago,thing was very loud,heavy,expensive and most of al clumsy, few years ago I switched to a nice and silent AEG, with paperfilterbags, work a charm, never go back to a Dyson, especially not for their prices

The only thing I would have done differently was to clean/brush all the dirt and dust off of the vacuum cleaner directly into a garbage bag or some sort of a bin so that one could throw it away or just flush it down the toilet or something. As you brush the dirt/dust off the vacuum with any brush some of the dusk particles tend to fly all over the place including your lungs. 🙈

    I just cleaned my main part for the first time. All seemed to go well, however now that I snapped the clear canister back on, the red handle is stuck and won’t empty the bin. What should I do? Thank you

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  9 месяцев назад

      I would recommend to try and take the bin off and try and relocate it again. If the rubber seal around the bin lid is stuck then it will be difficult to open with the red handle so it may be worth trying to get a screwdriver and gently prising the bin lid open

    I would really like to ask for some advice re: an issue I'm having with my new v15. The filter continually becomes clogged and says it needs to be cleaned. I realised today (after once again cleaning and drying, then having the clean filter alert come on after 30 seconds of use) that it appears the area the filter slots into is filled with dust (so a clean filter pops in, and immediately gets caked with dust). I'm not sure how I could go about cleaning this area, as I don't think you can disassemble it. Do you have any ideas on the best way forward? My v15 is very new (less than a month old), and this is really frustrating me.
    I'd be appreciative of any and all help.

    I bought a wireless hoover so i dont have to plug it in. Then every year i have to dismantle it and clean it for it to actually last. The amount of dust in my filter was a shit ton and only owned my v11 for 3 months. The V7 never got as dusty as fast

    Hello,
    Looking for help with the Dyson V15. It blocks my anti-tangle carpet attachment and won't spin. It has suction but does not spin. I watched different videos on youtube but I can't fix it.
    It's almost new, I've only used it 3 or 4 times. I opened it up to clean it, but it doesn't even have dirt on it.
    The rest of my attachments work fine.
    My vacuum cleaner is only 2 months old and I take care of it.

    • @lords-electrical

      Does sound odd, as it is only 2 months old, i would contact Dyson to get them to sort it out for you as it will still be covered under the manufacturers warranty.

      @@lords-electrical No, there is no odd sound, everything works great. It's just that the anti-comb tangle doesn't spin. I sent it to warranty service.

    What type of paint brush do you recommend? I tried a natural bristle brush, but some of the bristles got stuck in the metal mesh filter! Also, I had just vacuumed up baking soda from upholstery and it does not clean that metal mesh with just the brush. It still appears to be clogged with white dust

    I have the V15. How often should I clean the filters do you think?

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  3 года назад +2

      It can depend on how often you are vacuuming and what is being sucked up, but we normally recommend cleaning the filters every month on average.

    Thank you for the video! The brush is a great idea.
    I’m very allergic to dust and mites and purchased a Dyson because of its excellent cleaning abilities. My home has never been so dust free.
    However, the cleaning takes longer than the vacuuming !
    Because you cannot clean the parts properly and need to touch the dusty unit while cleaning it makes cleaning cause rashes and breathing problems. I put the motor unit inside a long plastic bag when brushing so the dust doesn’t fly everywhere and of course I use long gloves.
    I also use the edge nozzle in the last minute to clean the floor brushes.
    I’m not sure I’d purchase again because of the cleaning and maintenance issues.

    • @lords-electrical

      Its a great question but quite difficult to answer. I would normally clean a vacuum every 2-3 months, but it really depends how dirty the floor is and also how often you clean and maintain the filters

    Hi, thanks for the video, I was wondering how to pop the full bin out!
    One thing I would like to know is if you can clean the main brush head under water. Yours look very easy but mine has some hard dust that looks more like cardboard on the sides. I guess because I have used it in the bathroom and perhaps some water got into the brush with the dust.
    How do you recommend cleaning this?
    Thanks a lot!

    • @lords-electrical
      @lords-electrical  2 года назад +1

      Always a difficult one, as you shouldn't really get the brush wet. if you need to wet the brush, then make sure there are no electrical contacts that get wet, and that it is completely dry before you put it back together. Good luck

    • @lords-electrical

      As long as the filter is completely dry before you put the vacuum back together and start using it then you will be ok. Even if the filter is damp, do not use it as it can still damage the vacuum.

    nicely done video but still disappointed that it did not go into cleaning the bits that truly need it. Give the vac a tap on the counter once you've got the bin off. you see a lot of dust come out from the suction channels (idk their proper name). Dust gets caked on there really badly and it stinks. Cleaning just the bin won't stop the dust accumulating and stinking even worse.
    It's on Dyson to make it easier to get the inside cleaned. I had to use an iphone repair kit to get the screws out just so I could clean my machine. It was disgusting how much dust was caked up in there after only a few months use.
    I would really like to know how best to get at it without risking damage to the machine. :(
