Jeff Bridges played the prince. He is the same actor who played "Flynn" in both "Tron" movies (this aired only a few years after the original/classic Tron came out in 1982. He went on to later play the main character in "The Big Lebowski" (late 90's), then "Tron Legacy" which was a sequel 30 years later. His acting career spans 3 decades!
I find it a bizarre coincidence that Bridges plays Kevin Flynn in the "Tron" movies, and in Disney's version, the hero is named Flynn...am I just finding random coincidences? (Also, Disney's Rapunzel, Mandy Moore, will be in the "Tron" animation next year.) Also, I've found the style of the production is based on Gustav Klmt's work...the man who produced this also produced "Bram Stoker's Dracula", which also had a brief Klmt reference. Also "The Kiss" at 5:06
Ok, her voice is not great and these effects are the best they could do in '83...which was not much obviously. But DAMMIT I will always love this show. I think she is beautiful, a perfect Rapunzel, and this episode is great. And you gotta admit Jeff makes a hell of a Prince, I'd let him rescue me for sure.
