A lot of your favorite RUclips creators have reviewed the Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro. Here at Snazzy Labs, we disagree with most of those reviews. In fact, the iPad Pro is a great computer replacement for most people and even for many pros. The Magic Keyboard is not an accessory designed to be used at all times and in all places, but to enhance productivity for working professionals, students, casual emailers and more. This is the Snazzy Labs review of the Magic Keyboard.
The title really got me.
It got me too.

Geforce Now is in Mac i think

I own an iPad Air 2019. I love it, but for a lot of students it simply isn't enough if you need a laptop to do a bit more than document editing (for our field CAD, code compiling and calculus environment). I think what you mentioned here showcase that it is a perfect desktop computer COMPLEMENT, that I can agree 100%. For the illustration tasks I do, I use the iPad to do sketches or handheld drawings on PS and then perfect them or 3D model them on my computer.
My mom uses her iPad (with a bluetooth keyboard) as her main computer for years now. Thanks to the mouse support (which used to be better tbh) she even was able to work from home by remote accessing her work PC with the iPad. My best friend does production optimization and planning in factories and his iPad Pro became his main tool over the last years. But it's not for everyone of course. For example, it's literally not a good laptop because, like some weird notebook hinge designs, it can't be used comfortably on a lap. I personally prefer laptops, I used to have an iPad with a Smart Cover but after some time it's main use was to be an actual tablet to balance drinks on my couch.
Many reviews depict iPads as either a full on laptop replacement or not a computer at all. This is the first review I’ve seen that lays down both sides of the aspect and what you can actually get out of an iPad. Very well summarized!
You can get the same rigidity form the surface type cover if you lay it flat on the table.
You have the option to have a more ergonomic typing position.
"I Switched from a Mac... to a Mac." - Quinn
More like from a mac to a "less capable mac"
Please correct me if I misunderstand this: the issue that concerns me about the ipad as a laptop replacement is that it's (I think) always running off the battery, whether you're connected to ac or not. I'm not sure how laptops handle charging and power in the era of usb c charging, but presumably new laptops aren't simultaneously draining and charging the battery whilst you're plugged into the mains? My worry is that the ipad design increases a type of planned obsolescence where batteries require replacing more often than they would in the case of a laptop.
I'm not saying there isn't a market for the iPad Pro, but I think the usability bar for "most people" is exactly what you showed, web browsing and doc typing. Sure, the iPad can handle that, but you also probably don't need to outlay a minimum of £1K to get that experience and would be just as well served by a Chromebook or some other laptop.
And bloody hell the amount of flex/movement in the screen when typing is offputting.
Your content is quality bro. You look at the product from so many angles, you deserve more subscribers, keep it up!
Thanks!
I completely turned off magnetic cursor. I like the control I have without it and it feels more natural since we’re all used to that kind of functionality on a PC.
I didn't expect liking this video, but I almost completely agree... I am a Surface Book user since 2016, and I was a Surface Pro 3 user since the year before that, and I love Surface products. When my wife needed a new laptop, I got her a Surface Laptop 2 and she loves it, however I gifted my old Surface Pro 3 to my mom who is an old-school illustrator and while she uses it as a traditional laptop, she cannot put down her old iPad Air.
I still can't convince her to illustrate digitally, because she is too used to pen and paper, however I am trying to convince her to trade both her iPad and Surface Pro, and get an iPad Pro instead. I think it would be the perfect device for her scenario, and I agree that this can replace most people needs for a laptop-ish device.
As for me, well most of the downsides you mentioned (in reference to the Surface Pro) are non-existant for my Surface Book, and since I only need a tablet about 15% of the time, this device is my perfect companion. It has been my main workstation (3D modeling, simulations, renders), my main pc gaming device (older titles in mid settings), my main source of netflix and youtube (awesome display and colors), and I only use my phone when I don't have my SB around. It is just now (almost 4 years later) that the battery is showing signs of wear (about 80% of its original capacity after +800 cycles), but that is understandable due to the heavy use I've given to it.. So I would love to upgrade to the Surface Book 3, if work projects become more demanding, but for the time being, my original Surface Book is still a great device in 2020
iPad Pro isn't a computer replacement for me. But what it *is* is a laptop replacement. I would quite happily use my iPad Pro with a magic keyboard as my laptop, but I would want an iMac to pair with it for the bigger screen and a few things I can't do on iPadOS that I can on macOS, like running windows apps and recording with OBS.
I'm looking forward to iPadOS 14 being announced in about a month since there should be some really good improvements, like final cut, Xcode and logic coming to iPadOS. The fact that Xcode is likely to be coming makes me optimistic that there will be unsigned app support for even greater functionality.
I agree 100%. The ipad pro has replaced my macbook pro for almost all my HOME and entertainment needs. There are still things i rely on my macbook pro for that are just easier to use a traditional laptop for. But i cannot ever see switching from a real computer at my office. I don’t feel that an i pad is the right tool to replace a real computer in an office setting.
Dude, you can lay the Surface type cover flat as well!
But the IPad Pro is way more faster
Since I got my Magic Keyboard I've been doing most of my daily work on the iPad since I cna quickly switch back and forth between typing and hand-writing.
I had anxiety when you were using the iPad on your lap like that.
Great video. I’ve been thinking the same way. Ever since I got my iPad Pro 10.5” a couple years ago now I’ve rarely used my 2011 MacBook Pro. My MacBook may be old to most but it was maxed out with 16gb of ram and a 500GB SSD. It ran great! But the ease of the iPad, the flexibility it offered for input methods, and the amazing battery life just made me use it more. Recently my MacBook hasn’t been working (boots to a black screen ) and I’ve found myself missing it. But, I can’t decide what I should upgrade. Should I get a new MacBook Pro, or ditch it entirely and upgrade to the newest iPad Pro?
Eventually I’ll decide I guess
I'm a software engineer & I love the iPad. I'm hoping we get some more dev tools for the iPad so I can switch to just my iPad. It's just... better than the Mac at so many things.

You’re watching a video. Not a thumbnail. If I can’t get people to click the thumbnails I can’t make videos cause I can’t make money. My thumbnails and titles are never untrue.
There is always 1 or 2 applications that I need to run on a desktop OS. The iPad is amazing but I still need a laptop which makes the iPad too expensive to purchase alongside a laptop.
Hey, can @Snazzy Lab review the Logitech Combo Touch for iPad Air 3 and iPad Pro 10.5? This seems like the Magic Keyboard for non iPad Pros
The only reason apple never had a touch screen in their macbook is because they know people would have eventually asked for a 2 in 1 and either the ipad would have evolved for that or either the ipad or the macbook would not exist
I thought you switched to XPS lineup, which was really appealing based on the specs.
The issue i have is not that the Ipad CANT do things. Its quite a capable system by now. Its that it cant do them BETTER, and that its crazy pricy for what it offers. a BASE MODEL, with the keyboard, will run you 1300. Thats Literally twice what I paid for my previous laptop, 200 more than my current laptop, and about the same as my desktop, all of which are significantly faster and easier to work with. And realistically, the base models storage wont work for anybody "pro" so they need an even MORE expensive one.
The iPad is dope for music app’s! But you need a Windows machine at all times!
Still not convinced why a Macbook Air isn't better than using iPad pro with keyboard.
For performance MacBook 16 inch is the way to go. 13 inch MacBook Pro is not worth it at all. I Have been using only Mac OS since 2011 but honestly surface book 13.5 inch is the best value unlike its 15 inch, which lacks performance compared to any other 15 inch laptop in the market. Here is why:
-It has dedicated graphic card Unlike Mack book 13 inch
- WiFi 6 unlike MacBook 13 inch.
- best web cam for our weird web calls these days.
- Better battery life.
- touch screen- ( I didn’t even count its tablet and pen capability, since I view it as a laptop only).....
If you you must use Mac OS and you want 13 inch laptop then the choice is obvious.

I would do this, but I use my laptop for programming and ipad is useless in that regard.
Spot on... same here
My dream setup as a college student was to have two devices. MacBook Pro for programming assignments, iPad for note taking and learning. Unfortunately I couldn’t afford both while in school so I only had the MacBook Pro. The first time I used an iPad for taking notes was back in my senior year of high-school and I remember thinking that it was the greatest education device in a long time.
Which is why I got a Surface Pro and it's ideal for a CS student. Take notes in class, flip the keyboard open and you get a pretty decent coding experience. Dock it once home and there's a full workstation setup: multi monitor, USB devices, gigabit ethernet, ...
Right there with you. I code for a living, but I have a side hustle where I do design work. I was looking at the iPad so that I could use that sexy pencil, but its total inability to have a code environment kills it for me.

"Everything that 90% of people want to do can be done on an iPad, and for less money"
And then I came looking up iPad Pro + Magic Keyboard = $1350. That's not **less money** for most people. Even the new MacBook Pro 13" starts at $1300.

Comrade 95 Then you’d have to compare that price to the price of an older macbook to be fair
@@comrade9584 Then you have a keyboard that lasts 3 months
So true. And then you should start to buy dongles ... and in time you think you are done it's the time you realized you spent big amounts of money in entire apple "ecosystem"!!! (Sad but true)
Or just get a 400-500 euro laptop and it wil be enouth for 90% of people (ive run CAD software on those without to much trouble) anything above that is for special features or software requirments or you just want it which is a valid point.

+ Rigidity of magic keyboard
+ Cursor, but it should be "more magnetic"
- Cover is a yucky, grippy rubber that picks up dirt, dust, grime, fingerprints, and more
- Huge energy consumption (30-40%) with keyboard, fixed(?) with replacement
- No changing volume/brightness on keyboard
- Has to crane neck--magic keyboard won't bend further back
- Falls backwards when on lap and has a minor wobble
- Magic keyboard is heavy
+ Smooth ability to work on stuff, and take the iPad off of the magic keyboard
+ Apps offer "pro" experiences
+ File manager, USB-C support
+ 120hz display

I do write reports from the iPad.
But then there's the actual coding. There's really no serious IDE options, and if you told me that tomorrow we'll get Visual Studio Code in the iPad I'd still ask "how about a real file management system"? 2:53 To compare flex, maybe you should make the surface's type cover flat on the table like the flabbergasting Ipads rigid cover?
The Surface feels like a toy compared to the build quality of the Magic Keyboard. He was 100% correct in this video.
I felt like you were a bit unfair with the Surface Pro comparisons when you made them. The type cover can be made to have as little flex as the magic keyboard, just lay it flat instead of propped up. Your flopping about instead of just flipping the cover to the back ~8:20 might as well have been in black and white like the old infomercials with people spilling drinks.
When doing that scene, he wasn't even talking about the surface...He was just using it to show that tablets with those types of keyboards are awkward to hold and use. I have owned both the surface pro 3 and ipad with smart keyboard. I like them, but this keyboard doesn't allow you to use it that way and forces you to use it as intended, completely free of a keyboard. Agree with that design decision or don't , but he didn't even mention the surface at that time stamp.
He's apple biased, there is no doubt, not as bad as istupis Justine though.
64 people who upvoted you didn’t realise that he wasn’t comparing the surface pro at that point at all. There’s a lot of triggered surface users, it seems.
I feel the same about this: surface does both these things as well as iPad with magic keyboard. Lay it flat and there is no flex. Taking it off the typecover is as simple as the iPad does. Don't really quite get these comparisons.
@@RoyRosales it seemed like he was talkin about the the surface line in particular
No keyboard flex, well, if it is flat on the desk than that would require your desk to flex before your keyboard does right?
I recommend you go to the Apple store to play with one. Even if you lift it up it’s surprisingly strong. It’s built ridiculously well
@@skychak6856 i cant afford even touching one
Some keyboards flex in the middle, while pressing on a key. Less of a flex, and more of an indentation, really. It’s a tell-tail sign of a crappy keyboard.

there are many graphic designers and ilustrators working with an ipad pro with the pencil!
it would depend solely on which device they're most used to
Damn you were harsh on the surface in this video!
I had the opposite experience with iPad and Surface. I sold my 10.5 inch cellular iPad Pro and bought a used Surface Pro and don't regret it one bit.
He's an Apple fanny, what do you expect?
I have both an iPad Pro 12.9 and Surface Pro 6. They both are great devices, but I do tend to use the iPad a lot more than the surface just because of convenience. Microsoft hasn’t really figured out the whole touch interface yet. That being said, when I need to work on a project that is easier with 2 displays I always use the surface to connect to external monitor. The iPad Pro needs to implement proper extended monitor support. Keeping all this in mind, iPads are becoming better computer replacements over time.
@@JonnyInfinite or he just has his preferences. Honestly the surface line up isn't magical. I hate the keyboards and for a base model one to have decent speaks is about the price of the iPad Pro and the magic keyboard. I customized a configuration in the surface laptop. Each has its pros and cons. Just use what you like.
@@AshTag people also use their phones more than their laptops. It's more of a convenience thing. The iPad feels close to a phone and is within that realm so you will use it compared to a Surface Pro which is close to an actual laptop
I have used both. Surface 4 and iPad Pro. iPad better meets my needs as a tablet with better optimised app selection. Surface pro is a poor tablet experience and mine used to crash. I did love OneNote on it though- best note taking app out there.
Your needs may differ but he’s just being honest in this video with his opinion. Would you prefer he lie so he doesn’t hurt your feelings?
For a similar price you can get a Surface Book 3 which is vastly superior to the Surface Pro. I have used both for 4 years now and I fully retired the Surface Pro in favor of the Surface Book. The GPU in the base is phenomenal, battery life goes well beyond anything I need, and I find myself ejecting it from the base very often going into "tablet mode"
Which is perfect for your needs, but other people want a tablet Not a laptop, or a hybrid which makes compromises. Your choice would be poor for their needs.
The tablet touch interface on the surface is poor when compared to the iPad. There are more optimised tablet apps on the iPad. The standby battery is better. It’s quicker, and more reliable than a laptop with less things likely to go wrong. It is lighter. The pencil is much better for drawing. I could go on. Yes the surface book has many advantages too, but people pick the best product that suits their needs.
@@makasete30 okay cool. And some people would rather have what he has, and not a tablet. What's your point?
This is really a great format for the “they had us in the first half not gonna lie” meme
The last few years I hear youtubers talk about professionals and how great product X is, however when you say professional, I think off everybody, music/video makers, gamers, developers, engineers, artists, accountants, etc etc. But when applications are named, we here fusion and adobe, bla bla.
I believe as an proffesional user it give a wrong image that with something like an ipad you can do everything or even most things proffesionals do. I think a 500$ windows/linux laptop can do much more, maybe it has less power, but the software is where the magic happends.
It would be nice that when you promote a product by saying you switched from a Mac, to look at the bigger picture, because I feel people with low budget and no hands on experience would buy an ipad thinking it could do everything they need, while it might not be the case or they need very expensive hardware to get to that goal.
3:00 bruh. it's flat on the table ofc there is no flex. If I do that on a surface it wont flex as well.....
Exactly lol
There’s still flex, come on. The keyboard on the surface is good but it is light and does flex. At least my surface pro used to on a flat surface.
@@makasete30 wot
Did you not see him show a Surface in the video? On a table? The keyboard comes up off the table, so it definitely flexes, you can see it clear as day in the video... There is also a part where he shows the iPad on his lap and you can see it *not* flexing on his lap.
Reed Harston Surface pro 6 user here. There are two ways to use the surface pro’s type cover keyboard. Snazzy is merely using one of the ways which is allows for the keyboard to be angled but sacrifices rigidity. There is another way in which the keyboard is completely flat on the table, making it physically impossible to flex. In fact the early models of surface pro only allows you to use the keyboard flat on the table. The latest surface pro X even has a feature for the pen to be kept away when the keyboard is elevated. Using the keyboard like in this video is not the only conventional way. Please get your facts checked before commenting in future to avoid making yourself look bad. Don’t rely on one single source for information. Thank you.
Android Studio & XCode is basically my job... Good luck with those on iPad Pro
also RIP any web development, or any sort of intense coding and debugging
The “and for less money” argument right after dissing the Surface Pro would hold if the iPad Pro was actually cheaper than a computer, but alas it is not. It’s just the perception than many people have for some strange reason.
But the IPad Pro has better specs than the Surface Pros, so I’ll stick with the IPad Pro
"there is no flex" kinda logical when you display the lack of flex ON A FLAT DESK while the surface floats...
Actually the Surface keyboard can float or be flat and rigid too. Either way, options 🤔
He’s talking about keybed flex.
You can see in the video that the underneath of the keyboard on the surface isn’t flexing, but the keybed is flexing under his fingers.
@@kebbinator but the magic keyboard is sitting flat on a hard surface, of course it wont flex. I am typing this on my Surface Pro right now and I can tell you that when I put the keyboard flat I get some serious fatigue in my fingers from not having flex. I wouldnt say the flex is a bad thing with the smart cover but actually improves the typing experience.
B You’re still confusing keybed flex (see deck flex) with just the entire device bending.
The reason the Magic Keyboard doesn’t flex isn’t because it’s on a flat surface, it’s because the entire keybed is built on a metal frame.
The Surface keybed is plastic, and thus the keybed (not the entire device) will flex when you put pressure on it.
Lots of windows laptops also exhibit deck flex even though they are on a flat surface (and have dense, metal parts underneath the keybed) because the keybed is made of cheap, flexible plastic.

Most of RUclips assumes people use computers the way they do. So thank you for the breath of fresh air. I work in the world of financial markets and a year ago I decided to use my iPad Pro with the brydge keyboard. And you know what - I haven’t had to use my company issued Dell ultraportable for most of my tasks except maybe accessing an SQL server that’s behind company firewalls with custom client software. Yeah - Microsoft excel for iPad is limiting (Apple numbers fills the gap) but the rest of office 365 works GREAT, VPN and other Cisco software works perfectly and I even have FTP clients up and running accessing massive market data files. It’s shockingly impressive - The system handles multitasking more efficiently so my “computer” is not hanging during a software and task intensive customer demo either - which surprisingly a top shelf laptop with Core i7 and 16gb of RAM can’t handle on Windows. Pair that with swipe gestures and I’m actually MORE productive on it! And clients and Co workers are always amazed at how fluid it is at daily work place computing. And don’t get me started on the terrible PC battery life for the same tasks!
Awesome!

If your a programmer I’d really recommend linux, the command line is really nice for easily compiling, running, and setting up new projects, and the windows command prompt is simple terrible (unless you know power shell), also its actually the same shell (bash) as on the mac.
@@veda-powered Tbf, you can also use git-bash and WSL on Windows to get that bashy goodness as well. No need to switch OS just for that (though I want to do that anyway because of I'm sick of Windows Update breaking everything every few months).
Well the Surface Pro stand is still better than the iPad Pro type cover angles. The $150 Surface Pro cover has a backlit keyboard and also full size keys with function keys while the $350 iPad Pro cover is frankly inferior to the Surface’s. x86 apps are still required by the students and professionals. The full file browser, fantastic screen, better value keyboard with better functions are always a plus.
I love your content because you can actually speak about different platforms like almost no other. Not even linus and his entire crew probably know about linux windows and mac that extensively (except maybe Anthony). Almost every tech youtuber is stuck in their own platforms and can’t really talk well about the other options.
Thanks!!
Quinn: "iPad pro is overall great for students and does things that most students need"
Me: *_Laughs in Computer Science student_*
PS: ik it'll never happen but Apple please just give us macOS on the iPad 😂
I feel you :D but checkout the video of the guy using a raspberry pi with an iPad Pro, it’s pretty cool
Lol i've successfully programmed Arduino with a shitty Arduino IDE on the play store on my Moto Droid Turbo before, but yeah lets see eclipse running on iPadOS :)
Is it really an iPad though if it runs macOS? More like Mac Touch lol
Legit what I was thinking. Honestly, if they could add eclipsed and intellij to work well on it I might be interested, then again it starts at $800 so probably never gonna get one
I'm pretty sure I've never been this early on this channel. Feeling really snazzy now.
I have the ipad Pro and smart keyboard and the 16" 2019 MacBook Pro. I much, much prefer the latter. MacOS is hard to beat for those of us that adore multiple open windows/tabs, multiple open browsers (Chrome and Safari) and multi-tasking. Ipad IOs is sort of a one thing at a time, hunt and peck for apps device (I mean, who really uses split screen?). MacOS and three finger swipes are your friend.
😉
Cool One Apple (and other companies) need to stop pushing the agenda that a tablet can fully replace a desktop or laptop. Sure, for some people a tablet can be a full replacement if you're not too much of a power user - but otherwise, a full desktop OS is unbeatable for legitimate use, work, etc. Not to mention things just take longer to do and are generally a lot more simplified on mobile operating systems.
@@shaun1243 Exactly! Apple is smart enough to kill their low lineup.. Their main target is to get into windows platform as a replacement of windows laptop sector. But they are just stupid to think that..
Exactly, the iPad is a cool device to have but it won’t replace your laptop because iOS is still too restricted, doing something as simple as being on a video call and editing a document at the same time is simply impossible on the iPad which is something you just expect a desktop OS to do.
EddyGraphic I do this literally every day. When was the last time you used an iPad? 2015?
@@dangrabko I've used an iPad as recently as today, and there is no iPad that can do precisely the example EddyGraphic gave, at least if we give him a generous reading: if you switch to another app when you're on a video conference app, you stop sending video. This is an actual limitation of iOS that isn't present on the Mac.
Of course, it's also a pretty deliberately chosen example, as there are many things my iPad can do just as well as my Mac, and it's a little baffling to say, in effect, "Sure, there are people editing podcasts and 4K video and doing commercial art and producing ebooks and writing novels and screenplays and running office applications on iPads, but we all know the distinction between a toy and a real computer is the ability for background apps to keep the camera running."
I want to do 100% of the things that I want to do in a computer, not just get limited to 90%. I won't buy iPad even if it does 99.99% of what I do. It MUST do 100% of what I do and should be able to handle what I might do in future. This is why iPad is NOT a PC replacement. It would probably never be without a proper OS like Windows, UNIX or Linux.
Have to disagree with you. I would take my $350 used Surface Go over the iPad pro for "computer work" any day of the week. (I'm typing on it right now). But I get into retro computer games that will easily run on the Surface Go, and never run on any iPad. It's good enough for me, (yes this is just me and I know I'm in the minority here), that I sold my MacBook and I'm just using this now. It's really all I need.
The battery life might not be as good, but the functionality that I get out of it for my needs trumps anything that the iPad could ever dream of doing.
Haha for a second I thought he was gonna say he had switched to Windows. But once the iPad gets the pro apps I'll be sold.
I can't use Ableton or Pro Tools on an iPad :(
Not yet, but I bet they'll come sooner than you think!
When the iPad can connect to egpu and do intense 3d CAD, I'll switch.
Michael Yang Michael Yang The iPad Pro is actually a good amount more powerful than the MacBook Air and you can run CAD software on the MacBook Air no problem at all. It’s just a matter of someone creating an app.
Colin or apple creating an arm based laptop
_____PLEASE PLEASE PLEASe < Quinn and Fox : __remind me TERMINAL commands for RECOVERY of DELETED FILES , I am sure I saw a video on this channel but can not find it !! PLEASE
1:40 Let me just ruin this image here... perfect!
If you dont need your macbook 16'', send it to me.
Nah I’m good.
The surface keyboard doesn't have flex if you lay it flat on the table. It has two options: at an angle if that's more comfortable which has a little bit of flex(nothing noticeable), or the way the ipad does it, just flat on the table, which has as much flex as the ipad: Zero.
Come on :D the surface pro better in every way except the touch UI.
I'm soon to switch to mac os which I don't like, but I need final cut so in 8 months bye bye Windows, I will miss you
Edit: Quinn: no touch coming to mac anytime soon
Quinn slightly later: touch screen Macs are coming!!!
Woah woah woah- since when was the iPad Pro the"least expensive computer" ANYONE ever owned?
When you compare it to MacBook Pros or other flagship premium windows laptops used by creative professionals, they are less expensive. Which doesn't mean that they aren't expensive.
Apple haters see title: click eagerly, start moaning cos the surface was criticised in one small part of the video.
Watching this and typing this comment on my iPad Pro 12.9 with Magic Keyboard :)))) I also have a 16 inch i9 MacBook Pro (yes this was a flex) that I bought a week or so after the iPad Pro and I barely use the MacBook because this iPad setup with the Magic Keyboard really is as amazing as he says. It changed the game for me and I am a professional and PC Gamer who has a Gaming PC (2080ti 8700k, etc). I still game on the PC but I now spend 90% of my computer time not gaming on my iPad, because of this keyboard. It really is that good. Honestly use this video if you were considering buying the Magic Keyboard with the iPad Pro 12.9. To be honest I do not know how well the smaller keyboard and iPad are so they might feel different. I am 6’6 and have really big hands and this size is perfect for me at least. But take this video to the bank because it is spot on about the transition.
Apologies i wrote this high
Horrible Click bait, and also way too biased towards the iPad. Keep the Surface Pro type cover FLAT! . Notice the iPad wobbling. Pro doesn't just mean graphic designers. Only artists that sketch will benefit! But above all, it was damn obvious that this was just marketing if you see how you said each and every apple related term exactly the way Apple would say it. Shill!
On a positive note, I like the camera work and editing. :)
You can't use the iPad vertically on the stand? Why? there's seems such a obvious thing...
I'm so happy apple put iPad OS on all current iPads , not just the pros, which means pretty much everything you showed in this video can be done with the 300$ iPad. I know the magic case isn't available for it, but a used magic trackpad and keyboard can probably be found for less than 100$ or even 50$ used.
Quinn, you might be right. I agreed with most of the points In your video. But you're also surrounded by tech (including many computers). Even if you can do 95% of stuff on the iPad pro, for you it's easy to switch to your desktop or MBP for the other 5%. But for someone that only has money for one device, it won't cut it, and that's why it's not a great device (at least In the way it is marketed) . You can't spend $1000 on an iPad pro and then another grand for a PC for those 5% or cases that remain. Most people don't do that, only techies
Now Apple needs to bring Xcode (or something similar) to iPadOS and I'm sold.
They are supposedly working on it and might come this year!
how would that work without fucking filesystem?
@@petervansan1054 There is a fucking filesystem.
Peter Vaňušanik wait, iPadOS doesn’t have a file system?!? Oh wait, you don’t actually know what that term really means, I get it...
@@dangrabko I do fucking know what filesystem is. iPadOS logically has to have one, but it's all locked so from user PoV it might just have none.
"I have been a Mac user for over 20 years (...)"
BS... You're not that old.
Every time I start to believe an iPad is a computer replacement, I try to have a video conference call on it while trying to do something else. And I'm reminded that it's nothing but a glorified mobile OS at this point. A very good mobile OS though.
I’m of the opposite opinion. It’s a tablet, and functions fine and more powerfully than a mobile. It may not work for you, but the point of the video is that increasingly it is a replacement for many people,
Yeah...no. What a BS disingenuous comment. I do this every day. Microsoft Teams, Google Hangouts/Meet, Skype for Business, FaceTime...all work perfectly and are 100% multitasking friendly. When is the last time you actually used an iPad then?
Apple could easily add an iPadOS update that adds function keys. Hold CMD-BUTTERFLY and then press 5-0 number keys, etc. To control keyboard brightness, screen, volume and so on.
just use the control panel from the iphone ios pull from bottom...... WTF
this vid in nutshell- "People you don't deserve value for money practical products, so buy iPad Pro+Magic KeyBoard, and not SurfaceBooks because, meh, why to have a pc on tablet when you can have tablet with cloak of pc."
it's so expensive though... I'm going to stick to buying a surface go for 1/4 the price.
And for 1/6 of the performance ☹️
I own and use a surface pro 6 I’d pick that over an iPad any day
