- Another year, another WWDC (without an invite). I'm not bitter though. Speaking of bitter, do you taste a 13" MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar in your mouth too? We got a new M2 MacBook Air (other, stupid hardware as well), iOS 16, macOS 13 Ventura, iPadOS 16, and so many other crazy awesome new features!

The only possible reason I can think of for the existence of the 13” pro is an abundance of unsold chassis.
They should start call it macbook SE, or just make SE series across its devices, like base model ipad, and make ipad air and macbook air as just regullar ipad and macbook, so its equally in every device, rather that cluttered series of device name
If it would have been cheaper than an air, then I could see it for people who refuse to have a notch
Apple would rather recycle it's old chassis than waste R & D Funds to build a M2 motherboard for the Macbook Pro.
I can’t for the life of me figure out why but some people love the touchbar and apparently it’s their second best selling computer so why not keep selling it

yeah, the macbook pro 13 is basically an outdated version of the air. It doesnt have the redesign, and as it is in apple’s usb c phase the only ports in it are usb c, just like the air. the larger pro has more ports

@@nekogaming8461 he touched on it in the video. You can’t record all the time, you can’t trigger a recording via automation, and you can’t see a good view of the recordings in a timeline view. You are at the mercy of when your smart speaker/TV thinks that clip was worthy enough to be recorded. Not to mention that since the recording is AI driven, it hardly can resolve a person or animal more than 20 feet away with its 1080p resolution that looks more like 720p and constantly stutters while viewing it live (and I have an ideal connection).

Hey!!! I'm no donkey. Just thought the touch bar was cool. Not really functional but it was quite cool. Kinda even wish there was an option for a touch bar on the the m1 MacBook and future ones

Honestly, I do think it’s a good buy. You get the Touch Bar, and that’s been invaluable to me during my time with a MacBook.

Who believes Apple when they say they're super serious about gaming, for realsies this time, unlike all those other times they've said they're serious about gaming since the 90s? Like, great, Metal 3 looks good, but how about you just support Vulkan, Apple?
Apple supporting Vulkan is just like Nvidia supporting OpenCL. Although Nvidia does that, it’s crap at best. AMD GPUs crush Nvidia in OpenCL performance which is expected because Nvidia needs to milk their proprietary cash cow that is CUDA.
Is macs handle gaming than there will be no need for windows laptops.

Poor bottom right corner :( First Apple made made the "swipe from bottom right corner" a shortcut for taking a screenshot on iPad. Then it changed it to "open a new note" if swiped with Apple Pencil. Now it's Stage Manager... Good luck keeping track

One of the superior part of Android ecosystem is that it doesn’t require OS update to introduce something with separated apps like iMessage. Like what he said, if you want the new features, then you must be on iOS 16 at least to get undo or edit messages to work. And this applies to other system apps like CarPlay. IDK why its like this - it’s dumb

“Continuity in macOS works like magic”… except for universal copy / paste which hasn’t worked for me since Big Sur. 😔
I find it so hard to pick up the new macbooks from a table with one hand - the previous ones with even a slight taper meant I could fit my fingers underneath and lift up, but now I can't and have to push it to the table edge so I can grab it!

The pro is there for a very good reason, the 13' MacBook Pro has been in production since 2016 which means it's extremely fast to produce, unlike the Air. I work as an Apple reseller in Europe, the waiting time for a MacBook Air M1 here is 4-6 weeks... Apple doesn't want to lose customers since no one is going to spend $1000 more for a 14' Pro, so they had to include an alternative option that is fast to produce and can be offered to customers who aren't willing to wait 4-6 weeks. I can imagine the M2 air will be even harder to get your hands on so they had to make 13' Pro with M2.

@@aninditabasak7694 Treat it like coal, the 13" MacBook Pro doesn't deserve some love (unless if it borrows the design of the latest 14"/16" MacBook Pro, and it discontinue the touch bar)
The 13” MBP should have been upgraded to the intel (10th gen) model body. 4 usb-c ports, 16GB of Ram (or 12GB,) the two fans and added MagSafe with a 1080p camera. I think that would be a better product that what they announced.

@@TeamPuzel I am an avowed Apple-hater, and have never touched a touchbar in my entire life, but from a distance it seems like a good idea to me. I've never understood the unmitigated hate it gets.
I like my touchbar. I have a quick lock screen key, and predictive typing is key for me. Guess most Mac users aren't imaginative enough for it

I've been using a m2 macbook pro 13". I love it, I didn't have enough for a refurbished 14" M3, but the fan is an absolute nessecity for me, when I play basic games like Bloons TD6 or Xcom 2, without a fan I reach 108C, with the fan enabled I don't go above 90C, which I could lower by making the fan curve more aggressive but I'm happy with my current curve.
At 9:13, although I didn't know you could start selection by tapping the keyboard when you have the cursor active, I still feel just tapping a word (thus selecting it) is much faster.

In iOS 16, the dock color shift is different and its driving me nuts. I love using wallpapers that make the dock disappear. But as the color of your wallpaper changes, the dock will get lighter or darker. That's fine. But with iOS 16, it's much more adaptive, and i can't get it to work. It basically only works with the 37,37,37 color. Apple, please just let me hide the dock haha

If you don’t like the touchbar, you have never seen GoldenChaos BTT.
One tap open finder, calendar events, reminders, whatever, 2finger swipe for volume, 3finger swipe for brightness, , configurable to whatever you want. Support for all alternative app for the built in (calendar, music, etc)
Does anyone know: Will the new family photo sharing feature use up iCloud data space for every member on the share list (who has iCloud photo storage activated), or will it only use the iCloud storage of the family member that actually has taken the photo?? thank you. 📸
I don't know what you mean by literally anything you just said (this isn't disrespect, I swear), but:
1, it takes up zero space on the Family Sharing iCloud storage plan since all it's doing is making chosen photos publicly accessible to the rest of the people in the Family Sharing group.
2, it requires Family Sharing and also for an iCloud Family plan to be active.

the fact that the 2-year-old M1 MacBook is still at $999 is so stupid actually. that MacBook air M2 is great, but $1199 instead of $1099 dealbreaker for me. I know it's still a competitive price, but god they certainly could make it cheaper.

The answer about the 2016-body MacBook Pro being upgraded: there are people who love the touch bar. I have family who love the touch bar, and even know people who bought the last M1 Pro 2016-body recently because of it. It's super weird, I get it, and I don't use it/like it that much myself. But there it is.
you can edit accesories that your guest can use. click three dots menu, home settings, invite people. i think you can ate least

I have an M1 Ultra studio so I’m not in the market for raw power, just sustained performance in a notebook, 13” MacBookPro is perfect for me to edit some photos and video on the road
I have the M1 air, and it has P3 color support. Also, it's my understanding that the fanless design is only slightly less preformant under sustained load.
I’m willing to bet the Air’s display is as good or better than the M2 Pro’s. It also has P3 support btw

That M2 MBP is stupid. I have the M1 MBP and I’m kinda on the disappointed side. A part of me just wants to trade it in for the new M2 MacBook Air but the extra battery life is a positive for me since i take it to work every day.
