*Some general answers:* -I got the plastic letters at a bakery supply store, originally they are to write on cookies -The liquid clay is called slip, and it is made of clay + water - In this video I only show how to make the structure of the cup, in order to drink from it... it must be fired and glazed. Soon I will make a video showing in detail the glaze process!
I love this mug! I love it so much I would like to have one just like this… It is a shame I cannot use it or drink from it the way it is as this is the way I like it. Marina, do you have an Insta account or somewhere we can chat? I’d love to have a word or two with you. 🥰
I had never tried pottery before, but I managed to figure out how to make a little cylindrical birdhouse, based on how you made the mug. I'm super chuffed with my first attempt, so thank you for such a clear video.
I've been sort of binge watching pottery videos the past couple of days. Yours is the nicest of the slab built cups I've seen yet. 👍👍 Thanks for sharing.
A genius pottery maker I have ever seen...you are really too much friendly..I read most of the comments...you replied or react all of them...a human with beautiful mind and floral heart....❤️❤️❤️❤️
Acabo de descubrirte! Empecé hace unas semanas un curso de cerámica y estoy aprendiendo más en tus vídeos que en las clases! Me encanta tu estilo, no dejes de subir vídeos😍
🥹🤍Hello my dear, can you send me the videos of the training course you are participating in, please? I am from Iraq, and they do not offer courses of this kind in our country, and I very much want to learn how to make cups and pottery 🥹🤍..
@@Automedon2 I doubt you get quality ceramics like this at dollar tree. That stuff is a cheaper material and factory made. But sure, if you are lucky at a thrift store you can find anything :)
So relaxing…🧘🏻♀️ I enjoyed this video so much. Beautiful mug by the way. Loved the warmth transmitted by the color palette, the sweater, the nails, the mug, the natural light and the wood…🧡
Is the clay leather hard when you attach the base to the walls, or is it still quite soft? i'm impressed at how smooth the clay is throughout this entire process. I always get little nicks and dents everywhere.
Thank you!! ♥! Yes, it's exactly what Barira said, it's called slip and it's clay mixed with water. I leave you this video where I show how to do it: ruclips.net/video/jroJIOv7kuU/видео.html
@@UmiCeramics Hello the last part when you show the cup is the cup already fired ? is it an obligation to fire it ? or its not useable if we dont fire it ?
The artwork of this mug is amazing and so satisfying. Wanted to know which colors to use for such mugs and is kiln necessary to have? Or is there any other clay which can work without kiln and makes such mugs?
Este video es tan aesthetic y la taza le queda hermosa, mi maestra puso este video en la clase porque empezaremos a hacer un proyecto funcional. This video is very aesthetic and the cup is beautiful, my teacher put this video in class because we will start to make a functional project.
Of course you do great work, but what caught my attention is; You have very delicate and beautiful hands. He is a very lucky man holding those hands...❤
Greetings from Finland. I just found your channel and I love it! You make it look so easy :D I can only do mess, I just started to make ceramics and it is so addictive!
Such a beautiful video 💙💙🥺 I have a question about this type of clay in general? After it dries is it suitable for using it? Like for example here can we use this mug to drink in it? Or use it for other purposes only?
Omggg this was sooo satisfying I absolutely LOVE your video you did a AMAZING job. I’m gonna order my stuff now and give it a shot hopefully mine look this good 😊
For firing mugs you need a kiln. If you don't have one I suggest finding out if there is a studio near you that would allow you to use some kiln space.

pottery is a gateway mug.
You'll do great! I believe in you!
This is the most aesthetic pottery making video I've ever seen -- very beautiful work, and beautifully filmed!
Thank youuu! ♥
I was thinking the same thing!
You really should watch a video of Florian Gadsby. He makes such beautiful pottery and videos of making it.
I watch this video at least once a day... no joking. love it.

Love the way you work so clean. When I make pots (admittedly, I throw), I look like I've been dipped in a tub of slip.
I know how you do the pottery . What I don’t understand is how do you stay so clean and tidy? You’re amazing!
So much dexterity... You actually made a perfect cylinder with bare hands 😮
Love your confident approach to making mugs, handles have always been my challenge. Thank you.
Благодарю Вас.Чистая и нежная работа.❤❤❤
I’m shocked at how neat you are, the work is beautiful!! Thank you so much

What an artist!!! It looks like it could come out of a How it's Made episode showing a factory churning out thousands of them in a day.🎊
✨Lol I seen that show it definitely does but for her more on the aesthetic side it which I LOVE ✨💖💯

Вы необыкновенная, так всё красиво. Вдохновляете! Спасибо.
My toxic trait is thinking I can do this at the first try
And you can
✨Yes you can it didn’t look that difficult at least not to me ✨💯☝️
Thank youu!!
Me too !! 😂😂😂 But trust me it's too difficult! I have tried with dry clay
From my experience, having this mindset is how you succeed. So long as you still think you can do it even if you fail. 💜
Thank you for the VERY CLEAR instructions. Loved the way you do it.
Thank you! ♥
The slab technique is so much fun when I had done this back in the falls semester of community college/university.

This is a crazy amount of work for one mug. Huge respect for this kind of patience!
And it's unusable without kiln firing and glazing. $1 at Dollar Tree. 50c at the thrift store

I love how neat and smooth your technique! What substance do you use when when glue pieces together?
it’s called slip - basically the same type of clay mixed with water to create a paste, helps meld the pieces together

It needs to be fired in a special oven, called a kiln. Maybe there's a pottery studio nearby who lets you use some space
It would also need to be glazed for it to be food safe.
