Thanks for laughing and giggling thru the movie, because that's the way it should be reacted to. Some reactors take this way too seriously. First time I saw it I couldn't stop cracking up, so witty and well written. As funny as the movie is, it's deep. You could rarely change your stars in medieval Europe, the concept was nearly unheard of. This was foreshadowing the modern world to come and I love the theme.
There is a deleted scene in which Chaucer does give a speech to the crowd while Will is in the stocks, and does win them over. It's amazing, but the director felt that the Prince Edward part seemed anti-climactic, since the crowd was already on Will's side. Since the knighting is more important to the story, Chaucer's speech was cut. I'd recommend looking it up.
Sir Hector, the knight who Heath Ledger replaced at the beginning of the movie, was ahead in points after two rounds of jousting, so all that was required was to win was to not fall off the horse (or die, of course). By Heath not falling off, his opponent could not surpass him in points.
Actually, you are right about the rules and some tourneys you could win your opponent's horse and armour - but that was going out of fashion by the time this was set.
Oh Lera, so good to see you. I'm gonna watch this video later tonight. And I just wanted to ask you, are you going to play the rest of the GTA games??? HUGE LOVE to you
@@leracroftplay That's perfect. I just finished your GTA 5 playthrough today... I really enjoyed it. You recently became a part of my daily routine, for example when I'm eating, there is always a video of you in my screen. I love this channel, and my favorite part of your GTA V playthrough definitely was in 'Episode 8' when you were ___hitting the air with Michael and you were like: "Yeah, hitting the air, bad air, bam bam bam!!!" and your face grimaces___ it was so cute and unique. I literally showed it to my sister. I love this channel and can't wait for more videos.
Chaucer (Paul Bettany's character) is in real life a very famous author, who wrote the story on which this movie is (loosely) based. Chaucer wasn't a "literary" author. His "Canterbury Tales", of which "A Knight's Tale" was part, wasn't high-minded stuff for the discerning reader. No, it was earthy stuff that would entertain, full of drunkenness, literal arse-kissing, and fart jokes (which is why for the movie the post-credits scene is in fact a fart joke). The tone of the original story lent itself well to the style of movie the filmmakers wanted to make. However, the music of the time did not. They wanted to make it clear that just as jousting was the pro sports of the time, the music people were listening to was the pop music of the time, and not some stale old classical stuff as it is often now perceived. So, instead of using period music, they used well-known comparatively modern tunes. They don't state it, but I'm pretty sure that was the same idea when it came to designing Jocelyn's clothing, which definitely did not fit the period. The rules of the joust: Three points to win. You get one point for a body hit, two points for a head hit. If you knock your opponent off their horse, you get three points (thus winning the match), and get to keep their horse. However, the horse was customarily ransomed back to the losing knight, as such mounts were very expensive, and returning the horse was not only good form, but also paid for a lot of the winning knight's expenses.
If you want to try another movie unlike all others I would recommend either Team America from the South Park guys or Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Both films are hilarious and very unique in style.
Liked your reaction, you should react to The Campaign starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifinakis. It's a funny movie that will have you laughing throughout it.
😂😂 “I’m jealous” that makes two of us but it’s one of my favorite movies of all time, I love watching people watch it. Such a stellar movie
A Knights Tale is a funny film, very underrated has seriousiness & great comedic value.

Nice reaction Lera, always liked this movie, so tragic losing Heath Ledger, loved him as the Joker in the "Dark Knight". 😘❤
One brilliant Heath ledger movie that nobody has reacted to is Ned Kelly. Brilliant flick 😊
yes if you unseat your opponent, knock them off their horse, you get his horse
9:14 Her name is Shannyn Sossamon
Other than playing the Joker, I would say this is Heath Ledger's best role.
It's called a lance........Helooooo.🤣 Probably the most quoted line in the movie.
Great reaction girl to this masterpiece, greetings from perú
2:30 That is Alan Tudyk. He's been in plenty of stuff. The show is Firefly and the movie is Serenity.
I saw this movie in theaters many times back when I was 9 years old! It’s one of my favorites 🥰
I had to look up the definition, but to 'fong' means to kick.
19:31 She was just testing him so he can prove his love to her.
Great reaction except you missed the blooper at the end
I would like it if more reactors watched this movie. I'm glad that you picked this one.
10:36 29:13 What they mean by "tipped it" is she poisoned it. And she lied about what she put on it.
Enjoyed this one, nice reaction. I just subscribed. Thanks
Thank you! 😊
