you may want to watch a short video about 9/11, it's a sad day in American history that explains why the US army was in places like Afghanistan, Iraq etc.
@@nothernmonkey8612 Yeah when they were getting ready to make the movie using another actor Audie Murphy suggested himself.saying he,d be good because he was in the war.He would know what to say and do.
The joke about "9/11 times 100": When an American refers to "nine-eleven" without any context, they're usually referring to the terrorist attacks that occurred on on September 11th, 2001. When he says "nine eleven times 100", it's a way of saying that the next terrorist attack is expected to be 100 times worse than the ones on 11-Sep-2001--this is the sort of thing an American politician would say to cause fear. But the joke is that the character then says "That's right, 91,100", because he just multiplied the number 911 times 100, ignoring that "nine eleven" refers to a date, not just a number.
@@johnwest5837 They also seem to be South Korean, so removed from it, and 9-11 is more a US thing as many other countries have had much higher losses to terrorism - and "anti-terrorism"..
Out of all the celebrities who were portrayed here, only Sean Penn was genuinely upset about it (as usual). Alec Baldwin and George Clooney were only upset that they didn't voice themselves. Matt Damon found his portrayal hilarious once he learned the context (Matt Stone and Trey Parker didn't like how the puppet turned out and just made him say his own name).
The important detail you missed is that it looked like it was a special needs puppet. That's why they thought it funny to make him only repeat his name.

This is the most hilariously brutal, biting, in your face satirical action comedy. Only the creators of South Park could pull it off. Apparently it so difficult getting it right with the puppets that they'll never do it again.
3:45 It is the small details that I love about Team America. At the start of the movie in Paris, the cobblestones are shaped like croissants. Must have taken a lot of time to do and probably 99% of the audience never noticed...
Also, the studio was always skeptical about a movie using marionettes. So when that first scene, with the cheap marionette moving in front of a crayon drawn cardboard backdrop cam on at the first screening, one of the studio guys jumped up and yelled "They screwed us!! I knew it!!" Then it pans back on the entire huge set. Hilarious. Parker and Stone are geniuses.
So the aids song in the "Lease" show at the beginning is a parody of the hit musical theatre play "Rent" where one of the characters in it dies from the disease and there's a big musical number about it. The movie itself is a parody of Hollywood action blockbusters. And the screaming goats is a parody of the movie "Silence of the lambs" another classic you have to watch! Parker and Stone said that they wanted to make a "Jerry Bruckheimer movie with puppets and it would be a comedy, because Bruckheimer makes comedies - he just doesn't intend to." The attention to detail is fantastic in this film. The leaves on the trees are $1 notes. The terrorists have towels on their heads in place of Middle Eastern or central Asian headdress. The real villains of this film are the actors. This was intentional because Parker and Stone hate actors.
God one of the funniest bits of the movie is that not only do they destroy the Eiffel Tower but it smashes the Arc de Triomphe on the way down. Because Matt and Trey can never do something by halves. The MOST funny part is the... err... 'heroic purging' outside the pub/bar. The situation, the heroic music, the look on Gary's face. I'm almost positive that's the closest I've ever come to dying from laughing.

The sex scene was even worse. It was longer and had crazier stuff happening but it was cut off because then it would have had an R rating (adults only) or perhaps even an X rating. But the directors did it on purpose so they would have to just take out the moments where it was too much.
