I think what I enjoyed most about the postseason run is that nearly every guy on the team came up huge somewhere. Whether it was Bryant and Javy playing like MVPs, Rizzo and Russell catching fire midway through the NLCS, Montero with the grand slam and insurance RBI, Heyward's speech, Schwarber coming through huge in his shocking return, Contreras with clutch RBI, Dex's homers, Ross with the solo shot, Almora with the great base running, Lester, Hendricks, and Jake being aces, Chapman being a shutdown closer, or Zobrist getting the biggest hit in Cubs history. Seemingly every guy on the team had some major moment and came through when the team needed him.

As a Yankee fan I must say that this was truly one of the most remarkable World Series runs I’ve ever witnessed. I was rooting for The Cubs the entire postseason! So happy for their fanbase! GO CUBBIES!!
The Cubs overcame so much. They overcame the curse of the billy goat, a 3-run 9th inning deficit, the Giants even year streak, Kershaw, Kluber, and a 3-1 deficit. I'm a Red Sox fan, but I was so happy to see the Cubs win it all.
It’s crazy it was 4 years ago, but there’s something that will always feel like yesterday. This: Here’s the 0-1. This is going to be a tough play, Bryant. The Cubs… WIN THE WORLD SERIES
As a cubs fan, i found watching it a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 20th time... it gets better and better... watching it live gave me so much anxiety. They did it tho! Go Cubs!
As a REDS fan I always looked at Game Six in 1975 as the greatest ever.....not after Game Seven last year - no way. What pressure and with so much at stake...wow, what a game and series!

Lifelong Cubs fan here. If the Indians ever make the series again and it's not against the Cubs, I will be the biggest Indians fan on the planet. Always had a soft spot for you guys. Hope you can end your drought soon too... Just not against the Cubs! :P
Gotta say that as a Dodgers fan I wasn't even angry when the Cubs beat us in the NLCS. I actually felt even more emotions when I saw them finally winning it all in 2016 than when the Dodgers won it in 2020. I went to Chicago last year and took a tour of Wrigley Field, it's such an amazing stadium with so much history.
I'll never forget this. I was working at a Barro's Pizza in South Phoenix AZ and the whole kitchen staff was out front with the customers watching the extra innings in game 7 and we all wanted the Cubs to end their streak. Nobody was ordering food; we were all just fixated on the game. Such a magical moment with such a great ending.
Man….you can’t watch this enough times. The amount of amazing things that happened. Things that were improbable. The giants comeback, Miguel Montero going yard, Russell going from ice cold to scolding hot, Travis wood, David Ross homering in his final game off the best reliever in baseball at the time. Schwarber coming back. That’s when you know it’s just your year. And us cubs fans deserved every bit of it
I'm still watching it in 2019 and will continue to the day I die. There is absolutely no better moment for me in Chicago sports. Not the '85 Bears Super Bowl win, not any of the three Blackhawks Stanley Cups, and none of the six Bulls NBA championships (although the last one was the most bittersweet)
Yup, it's kinda crazy how they traded all their key players away. I was hoping they'd have another title run together in Chicago, ownership had different ideas. I'm a Mariners fan so nothing seems that crazy anymore lol. Maybe they'll be able to rebuild and get back there!?!
im just getting into baseball and it makes me sad that I missed this teams glory years. I remember watching game 7 as a chicago sports fan but I didn't really understand, you know.

Congratulations to the Chicago Cubs and the Cleveland Indians. They both deserved this championship, but the Cubs edged them out. These are two teams that I can see contending for the World Series championship for the next 5 years. But for now, go nuts Chicago!

This is literally the only happy memory I'll have from 2016. My personal life has been in turmoil, I've lost so very much (personally and in other worldly causes I support), and it's been a while since I really felt good about much of anything, but at least I'll always have this wonderful memory. It won't bring back the people I love whom I've lost, or fix any of the other situations, but nevertheless it will always be something special that no one can take away, and I cherish that. Go Cubs go.
It’s so amazing to watch this. Definitely the craziest moment in Cubs history! This will never get old. And even in 2021 I’m still proud looking back on these champs ⚾️
As a life-long Cubs fan I remember falling to floor in my kitchen in tears when the final out was tallied. I could hear Jack Brickhouse and Harry Caray call the final out, and finally being able to tell my Father it happened. Sadly my Father passed away 01/16/2016, so he wasn't here with me to have see it happen.
perfect song choice. This is a grad A highlight video brings tears to my eyes just relieving the beauty of this postseason. The Magic of the Chicago Cubs returned and i've never been so happy! GO CUBS GO!
Thank you for putting this together. It was brilliant the way you added Cubs radio, ESPN radio, and the broadcast audio in there and to set up the finale with the Heyward interview was phenomenal. Truly a great piece of work.
yeah, and it showed how terrible Cub announcer play by play was...terrible at game end, and he makes every homer sound the same, be it at the wall or out of the park: saying "ITS GOT A CHANCE!" when the ball is already out of the park....but check out skip bayless the next day....great commentary!
That was 5 years ago, and still to this day I still get tears up from the happiness that cubs team brought to our cities and families around chicago. Forever a cubs fan 💯
There will never be enough words to describe the emotions I felt when the cubs won the pennant. The World Series was amazing and game 7 was arguably the best game ever played but the fact that the cubs won the pennant at home in front of thousands of fans really had a different feeling.
Micah Eamus Catulis I thought that it finally sunk in for me and I still have to stop myself lol. And just think, the Cubs are now gonna be good for at least the next 12 or so years...like kids will never know how bad the Cubs were
It's like the Red Sox now man.... How the younger generation just has no idea how in the world they went as long as they did without a WS after their 3 recent Championships, people are going to look at the Cubs in the same light going forward. It's just crazy.
Even with everything that's recently happened with the roster, I remember that playoff series like it was yesterday. When we got the 3rd out in game 7, I was completely overcome with joy, I shed tears, not even gonna lie. The tears weren't for me, though, they were for my grandmother who got to see it happen... and my closest friend who died from cancer a month prior to that game. Even watching this again today brought tears to my eyes!! Even though our favorites have been traded away, I'm still singing Go Cubs Go! Hey, Chicago, whaddaya say....?
I was at work, watching the game in between patients in our ER. The rain delay hit, I punched out for work and my wife who works in the same hospital asked me to get her a sandwich from McDonald's. I raced to McDonald's, broke every speed limit on the way, got the sandwich and raced back to the hospital lobby TV. the rain delay ended and I watched the last inning. I was so tense and when Bryant threw to first base for the last out I broke down and cried. To this day I still cry a little bit watching the highlights because wanting the Cubs to win the world series has always been categorized as a thought of something like us going to live on Mars. just not going to happen in my lifetime. But it did. I cant wait to go see my grandpa in heaven so we can talk about this moment. Go Cubs!
Without a doubt, the best World Series ever played. Arguably the best playoff run in MLB history. One of the grittiest, fearless, most enduring baseball teams to ever take the field. The summer and fall of 2016 was a fairy tale and it couldn’t of ended any better. We waited a long time for a season like that. Watching this took me back there. To a simpler time. All of our lives have changed so drastically since then. I miss those times. I miss this team. Fly the W
It's still a dream. Still hard to believe at times. I remember all the years I had so much hope just to see them fall short, again and again. this scene is a dream...come true.
I will always love this team. Coming to watch this after a disappointing end to this season (i miss this offense)...but still will always be a cub forever. The 2016 was one of the best times of my life, and I’ll never forget it. #everybodyin
I still watch this looking at the best year of my life, thanks to everyone who supported the cubs. Being a cubs fan for at least my entire life, watching them win a World Series live staying up till 3 am In the morning, it was worth it. Thank you Heyward for that speech if you didn’t give that they wouldn’t have won that game. Thanks for the memories Chicago!
I'm still stunned that this happened at all, let alone the dramatic WAY it happened. Down 3-1. Game 7, 10 innings, rain delay.. Injured Kyle Schwarber coming back and arguably being the difference in the series. Just incredible.. Really, I'm more happy for my dad than for myself, as he's 63 and wasn't even alive the last time the Cubs were IN the world series! It still hasn't fully sunk in for ME so I can't imagine what he and other Cub fans 60+ must be feeling.. And as a side note - nothing but respect for Cleveland and their fans. They made this an amazing series and pushed the Juggernaut Cubs to the brink. Never been so nervous watching a sporting event, but it was worth it haha. Hope we meet again in the series!
As a lifelong Cardinals fan, I’ve always respected the Cubs and their fans and I was truly happy that they finally won the World Series, it was a terrific baseball story!
At 4:35 there’s a montage of the different ways they celebrate the victory. Chapman screaming like a warrior covered in the blood of his vanquished enemies, KB tossing his glove and jumping around like a kid living a dream moment, Maddon way hyped but still keeping as reserved as he could be, Rossy just so happy to be there.
I been waiting 32 years as a 10 year old for this to happen. The Cubs winning the WS is like when people ask that famous question --- where were you when this happen.
I've lost track of how many times I've watch this video over the years, man I miss this team so damn much. Will never forget the joy it brought 11 year old me.
I am glad I got to witness what so many missed in their lives. I didn't watch a single game since I watched them lose in spring training and losing every game I watched in person and on tv that year. And with the curses around this team, I didn't watch another game all year. Same with the series. I checked the game cast. That was it. I was in strait tears when they won. I know what this meant to so many heartbroken fans, grandfather's who long passed, the faithful who just hoped and prayed that maybe one day. I also had to cry when they traded all the face of this team in less than 24 hours. I couldn't believe it. I will always be a Cubs fan. My first ever pro game, my two favorite players of all time, and the oy games I attend here in AZ. I will die a Cubs fan, and am thankful for the all those players who gave us what we started to believe may never happen.
Jeremiah Mack They should get him back if anything I thought Jason Heward was going back to st louis. 2015 John Lackey and Jason Heward go to the cubs 2016: Dexter Fowler goes to the Cardinals. As a padres fan this gave me a smile watching you guys win I definitely fell for you guys.
game 7 of the 2016 World Series is one of those events like 9/11 everybody who was living remembers where they were when 9/11 happened and now everybody knows where they were when the Cubs won their first World Series since 1908
4th generation Cubs fan here. I was planned to be named Ryne after Ryne Sandburg. When they won I as well as my dad and Grandpa almost cried. It was one of the most amazing games I’ve ever watched.
It was a blessing. My dad finally got my mom to shut up. Lol . Then he passed with a smile on 1/9 /17.
I’m sorry to hear that 🥺
aww i’m sorry🥺
Sorry to hear that... My only regret was my grandfather passed before he could see them do it... RIP GRANDADDY they finally won it all

@tenisalot that's more of the Cubs announcers signature call, kinda grown used to it
Cubs are the best that music with the video was great cubs rock
Jacob Thomas The music was good I have to agree.
Only a minute in, and the music has me tearing up!
tgj
It was the music from the 85 Bears 30 for 30.
The song at the beginning is from the “Moneyball” soundtrack- “The Mighty Rio Grande” by This Will Destroy You.
That was 5 years ago, and still to this day I still get tears up from the happiness that cubs team brought to our cities and families around chicago. Forever a cubs fan 💯
There will never be enough words to describe the emotions I felt when the cubs won the pennant. The World Series was amazing and game 7 was arguably the best game ever played but the fact that the cubs won the pennant at home in front of thousands of fans really had a different feeling.
as a Braves fan, winning a World Series and being able to see it live is unreal. This series made me cry of joy for this team when they won.
it's so weird to say, the Chicago Cubs have won the world series
famguy218 I think I won't ever forget the Moment they won it all, and it is hard to comprehend 'Chicago Cubs World Series Champions'
Cause it makes more sense to say the White Sox won the World Series
At the end of the day they were hungrier. They wanted it more. And i can guarantee yall they were exhausted when it was over.
Go Cubs!
Commenting to give you a reminder that’s the Cubs won the world series 😀 Maybe relive the good memories
aveoturbo1 you left the tv during game 7 during the last inning of the world series to get your wife a sandwich? jesus christ you must love that woman
Every time I watch this I'm reminded of how lucky I am to have seen it. I'll forever be 13 years old every time I watch this video.
I think we were all in a glass case of emotion during that game lol
This is how I always start my day off on a good note
Tears down everybody's face
Without a doubt, the best World Series ever played. Arguably the best playoff run in MLB history. One of the grittiest, fearless, most enduring baseball teams to ever take the field. The summer and fall of 2016 was a fairy tale and it couldn’t of ended any better. We waited a long time for a season like that. Watching this took me back there. To a simpler time. All of our lives have changed so drastically since then. I miss those times. I miss this team.
Fly the W
You have to promise to never let this video go away. I want to come and watch this with my kids in 20 years and still get chills
It's still a dream. Still hard to believe at times. I remember all the years I had so much hope just to see them fall short, again and again. this scene is a dream...come true.
Now we just need a 16-seed to win a NCAA tourney game and the Browns to win the Super Bowl.
killerbeaz101 the first one happened!
Lmao lucky you
Need to see a USA vs Russia hockey game
Low key browns might happen
Thats like asking all Georgia teams not to choke.
I will always love this team. Coming to watch this after a disappointing end to this season (i miss this offense)...but still will always be a cub forever. The 2016 was one of the best times of my life, and I’ll never forget it. #everybodyin
bro i'm still watching in 2020 this is never gonna get old. i get goosebumps everytime i watch game 7
Who’s still watching this in 2019 September
Notice how good we were when we had a good bullpen
*offense
My grandpa died 2 years before and it was his one dream to see them win. This means a lot to me and I cried that day.
this year was amazing
zci
Hope we meet again in the series!
years and years later and this still stands as a top 5 youtube video of all time
Back here after we've been eliminated from Playoff contention. Time to watch WS highlights and cry myself to sleep until March.
Easily the best highlight reel yet, and I have been watching a lot of highlights! Thank you
zfuo😉😬😠😤😧😨
I am so proud, they never gave up. Never. Great video, thanks so much!
My dad died in 2021 and I’m blessed he got to live this moment. This will forever be cherished by my family and in the city of Chicago 💪🏼
Thank you for putting Pat Hughes in
jr132 I miss Ron. No one loved the cubs more than him
Adam Gottlieb the biggest Cubs fan of all time
jr132 i
I so wish ron had been in the booth when the cubs finally won the world series. He would have gone absolutely nuts.
This still makes me cry my grandma passed away before we won it all ....
The greatest video on RUclips, bar none! 5+ years later, it still brings me to tears.
I been waiting 32 years as a 10 year old for this to happen. The Cubs winning the WS is like when people ask that famous question --- where were you when this happen.
dave m you've been 10 years old for 32 years? prayers.
Never realized that they dominated in the Post Season... They wanted it the most and they got it. Deserved
I'm still thrilled.
glad this actually happened because i keep getting worried ive been dreaming
I still watch this every year, this will be one of the best moments of my lifetime and I am so glad I was here for it
2019 ....I still watch this randomly..lol. GoCUBS!!#CUBSNATION!!
That last play made by Bryant gave me a heart attack!! WhO'S WATCHING IN 2019
I'm gonna miss Fowler 😣😣
Jeremiah Mack They should get him back if anything I thought Jason Heward was going back to st louis. 2015 John Lackey and Jason Heward go to the cubs
2016: Dexter Fowler goes to the Cardinals. As a padres fan this gave me a smile watching you guys win I definitely fell for you guys.
The FactsRemain What does that mean?
But yeah I liked Dexter Fowler as a Cubs once ge got traded he was playing better.
When fowler is up but aginst the cubs I always cheer for him, cardinals or not.
We all miss Fowler very much and wish nothing but the best for him, love you Dex! Where you go we go!
Still tears in 2022…Love you grandpa, sad you had to miss it.
These are the moments baseball fans/players live for
really good highlight reel. best I've found so far!
game 7 of the 2016 World Series is one of those events like 9/11 everybody who was living remembers where they were when 9/11 happened and now everybody knows where they were when the Cubs won their first World Series since 1908
4th generation Cubs fan here. I was planned to be named Ryne after Ryne Sandburg. When they won I as well as my dad and Grandpa almost cried. It was one of the most amazing games I’ve ever watched.
I got to see this with my grandpa. I never thought either of us would.
