    For all those asking about cost:
    It’s £379 plus £30 paint correction for a new bike, so £409 for full service with a 10yr guarantee.
    Used bike is £399 plus £30 paint correction, so £429 with up to a 7yr guarantee (depending on the condition of the bike).

      I spent a day cleaning my GTL last year and thought I'd done a pretty good job, but after watching this video I realise I was just scratching the surface - literally! That tar removal looked good stuff. Took me ages to clean the exhausts, even though I removed them.

    Couple of useful vid's between this one and part 1. A lot of useful pointers as to how to get the bike properly clean esp stuff like tar and also the hidden bits that could trap dirt and moisture. I'm not the world's greatest fan of washing bikes either but using the tips here should mean better results for the time spent ( work smarter-no pun intended- not harder ) Pete's analogy about the treatment being like painting your house sums it up well.
    As an aside, seeing under the seats suggests there isn't a whole lot of room for stuff now especially as the tailpiece is a bit shorter too. No doubt you will cover in future videos but tucking away things like a EzCan or dashcam DVR could be...interesting...

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  10 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks for the detailed reply bud and I’m chuffed to hear the vids have been of some use.
      Regarding the room under the seat, I was just up at “A Bike Thing” over the weekend having the prototype for the new 1300GS EZCan fitted. It’s fairly snug for sure but does fit… just 👍

    As a keen amateur detailer who has prepped and coated a number vehicles and bikes I can attest to the quality this work. It's all in the preparation and a bike, particularly a GS takes longer to prep than a car if you want the job done right.
    The spoked wheels are truly awful to clean and I would never have them again as they take as long to clean as the rest of the bike.
    The new bike looks superb Bruce and should be much easier to clean, not that you bother about that😂

    Nice to see someone doing the whole process for all to see. Not going to name the company who did my bike but unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the finish I got and less than a year on it's not been much easier to keep clean.. not even sure the ceramic coating is even still on mine. Would probably do it again but I would definitely use a different company... And would even consider supershield just because Pete was bloody brilliant and seems like a really honest genuine guy

  • @BodybuildingSteve

    It is worth it, especially if you plan to resell or change bikes often, personally I keep my bikes until they blow up or have insane miles on them and the resell is peanuts because of the mileage so just wash and polish them myself to save money lol

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  10 месяцев назад +1

      My bikes will have around 60,000+ miles on them after 3yrs of finance ownership, so the resale is pitiful too.
      If you want your bike to look it’s best, and you want to minimise any corrosion or paint degradation, whilst minimising the amount of time and effort it takes to clean, then yes it absolutely is worth £400 in my own opinion.

    • @BodybuildingSteve
      @BodybuildingSteve 10 месяцев назад +1

    What happens with that ceramic chemical stuff when the hot parts will get hot? (And they will get super hot, especially the exhaust and probably the cylinder heads also)? The ceramic will burn, right? Won’t that burning process leave marks on those parts? Also, have you noticed and light distortions (more then before) when riding in the night time and lights hit the windscreen? Do the light “bursts”? Also, in the tank area, isn’t harder to grip the tank with your legs? And final question: if you want to stick a sticker (or maybe some knee pads) on the ceramic, will the glue stick to that ceramic? In my mind, once you ceramic coated and area, it’s all over with sticking stuff on it. Thanks! Enjoyed watching the video.

    Customer had his two VIP helicopters done with this nano shield. £7K each. You have to use their cleaning fluid which is eye watering expensive and a waste of time. Exhaust soot just impregnated the coating and it ended looked very dirty. Ended up T-cutting them.

    • @teapotone

    • @garethmayfield4014
      @garethmayfield4014 10 месяцев назад

      @@teapotone it’s all the same mate, molecular nano coating. Same stuff as cars use. I’ll appreciate a helicopter exhaust above white paint is extreme, but it was a huge disappointment in my view. It did not stop corrosion which was a main reason for getting it. Keeping a aluminium helicopter on your ship is also corrosion extreme . It still rotted away. Cost millions. Washing with normal detergent removes it. I hope it serves you well pal. That’s one very nice bike you have. Ride safe fella.

  • @mysterybiker1717
    @mysterybiker1717 10 месяцев назад +1

    Exhaust oxidising from inside below ceramic layer? I think that demonstrates ceramic layer fails over time on exhausts else where does the oxygen come from? My experience of ceramic coating is its like a high quality wax coating but wears off in fairly short time. Certainly not a one off treatment.

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  10 месяцев назад

      He doesn’t say it’s a one off treatment, in fact he says what you have just said in your comment.
      However, there are lots of ceramic coatings available out there, but Pete uses the best one currently available which gives the highest levels of protection across the board. Listen to what he says and if you’ve got more detailed questions, just drop him a line at supershieldauto.co.uk or his socials 👍

    Bruce does this protect against corrosion from salt during winter riding

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  10 месяцев назад

      To an extent yes, as Pete explains in the vid, you still have to wipe mud, dirt, salt etc off as it still will eventually etch into the ceramic coating - but the protection gives you a few days longer to do this than if it was unprotected.
      If you’re thinking of using acf50, then keep in mind what he says in the vids too about this.
      Drop Pete a line via his website if you want detailed info 👍

    Great video. Do you think its as effective against winter salt as a product such as acf50.

    • @teapotone
      @teapotone  10 месяцев назад +1

      I’ve used ACF50 on all my other bikes apart from the last 2 GS’s. I obviously am not religious with my cleaning, so I’d acf50 my bikes probably 1-2 times a year, and they’d get ridden every day, pretty much 7 days a week, all through the year.
      There is DEFINITELY less corrosion to the bolt/screw heads on my last 2 GS’s that have been ceramic coated by Pete, then I got on my other bikes.
      HOWEVER, keep in mind that I also don’t ride every day anymore. I still ride throughout the year, but it’s not daily now as I predominantly work from home - unless I’m out on the bike 👍
      I’m still doing around 20k miles a year, but before I was doing twice that
