Had always used ACF50 but last year when I got a new bike decided to try a ceramic coating. I did think it would be easier to clean but still takes effort especially the bottom end, GS on a damp road looks like it’s been through a field. I gave my bike to a local detailer who normally does high end cars but does bikes as well, very pleased with the result. Notes taken from this video... Don't let Bruce wash my bike! Interesting to hear about the ACF50 impact - I use the XCP Rust blocker for metals along with a ceramic coating for plastics, which means the prewash works wonders and very rarely need a proper contact wash. Especially in these crap conditions we have coming up! Got to say... that 1300GS looks a much better finish than the 1250 - Not to say the 1250 was bad, but hopefully that will stop those issues with the engine paint flaking etc
Interesting comments, one thing i have learn't though is that i rarely have that much time in my day to get stuff like that done, i worked out that it would actually cost me double due to my loss of wages for the day ! Though i have NOT used these guys, i have my own solution which i kind of stumbled accross by accident, i got my petrol tank resprayed from new on my gsa, thats when i realised that i could actually just get all the painted panels and tank resprayed for around £500, with better thicker lacquer too ! So i don't have to worry about scratches too much, just wash and polish, and IF it needs any painting done come sell or trade in time so be it, but if not, thats a wedge saved ! But i do go around every nut & bolt with acf 50 and paint brush, every year to keep corrosion off of the fastners, i'm not knocking the ceramic coatings, each to their own, in fact i do use auto glyms spray ceramic coating just because it helps to keep the bike a bit cleaner.
Hi Teapot….long time no speak! Hope all good? Couldn’t help but notice that the 1300 still seems to get dirt everywhere from wet rides! I would strongly recommend getting the fender extender for the front mudguard just to reduce the amount of muck and tar thrown up onto the front of the engine, and of course, the mud sling for the rear wheel, to do the same job in protecting the shock and reducing the amount of muck thrown to the sides! Got to be worth doing!
Yes 100%, we even talk about it in the vid I think (maybe it’s in part 2). Sadly they don’t do any accessories yet for the 1300, I’ve had them both on my last 2 GS’s, absolute necessity 👍

Good stuff, I’ve just given my gs a four hour clean and acf50 it with compressor and spray gun, it’ll next have a full wash in March but when the salt is down I do rinse the bottom half of the bike with cold water to get salt off then top up vulnerable areas with acf50 on a rag, by March it’ll look like something from mad max but underneath it’s like new👌🏻
Nice, but just remember ACF is basically a very fine polish, so every time you wipe it on to your bike, it’s like using a very fine sandpaper - we chat about this in part 2, coming on Sunday 👍

All a bit O.T.T. and unnecessary 😂
Total waste of Money if you live in England where the Rain never stops. One ride and the bike looks terrible again.
Then you give it a quick rinse when you get home and it looks amazing again
The idea is to prevent and protect so perfect for our shi te weather
Would it kill weeds the prewash😅😅😅
