  • A video tour of our Tundra and Four Wheel Camper rig. The FWC is a flatbed Hawk that is attached to the truck with a Norweld bed tray. We walk through the truck, bed tray, and camper. This rig was built by Main Line Overland and has been a huge upgrade for us.

    Amazing home on wheels. Quite a step up from my old 70' VW pop up I had years ago.

    Great quality rig! The lithium battery setup is amazing. The Bigfoot truck camper I bought came with two 6 volt batteries and they are 120 lbs together! I wouldn't want my clothes inaccessible when the top is down or someone else is in the bed. I like having a toilet on board for those 3am urges when it's cold or storming outside. Not having to put on clothes or shoes for that is great. I understand that everything is a compromise though. There is a spectrum of camping comfort from backpacking all the way up to luxury class A. You have to decide where you want to be on that spectrum and the best part is there is no wrong answer, it's all good! I hope to see you out in the wild and if I do will say hi in person.

    OK Listen lady... 4:07 that's not a stirrup step, it's actually an ultra giant mega Coca-Cola bottle opener.. but it works for your purpose just fine so you're ok to use it.. just make sure you clean it before using it to open the ultra giant mega Coca-Cola bottles.

    You out performed a lot of so called RV professional reviewers on this demo.
    Very will done, I apologize to anyone that has done this job before you came along and took over there jobs. I understand everything you said and the delivery was spot on. Now they need to watch you work and see how it’s done.
    This camper has some really nice features and the layout is straight forward with very little wasted space. A bit more information is needed on the battery system and toilet arrangement. But overall I’m impressed with the unit. Thanks for sharing and hope to see you in your next review. 👏👏👏👌

    One of the nicest builds I have seen! The portable panels work great, we have almost 300 watts on the roof and our portable 120 almost always out performs the permanent roof mounted panels. This is due to the angle to the sun and it is exaggerated by our northern location. The racks may seriously reduce the panel performance, but no easy way to avoid it. I know with my portable if I shade multiple cells it drops to nearly zero. May be different with one horizontal group of cells covered. Enjoy the rig, you guys have worked hard for it and in my opinion you only buy once when you buy the best!

    First time I've never been emotionally absorbed into a video about RV's! Amazing story. So well told, I found myself clinging to every turn, every moment really. I stumbled across this while researching a Nissan version of this camper-type that I really want to buy. I hope you made it to the 'Canadian Maritime Provinces,' an amazing part of the world where I had the good fortune of being raised in, and write from now - Nova Scotia.

    Wait. A. Minute. How could you just gloss over the dinette/bed also turning into a shower like as casually as you did? That part truly caught me off guard... you just have to explain that a bit further.... 🤯🤯🤯🤯

      @spanieaj 4 года назад +3

      Yes. She did the same thing in another video tour of the rig. No explanation of how the dinette area is converted into the shower. She showed the storage area under the seating, but it does not look like it is water tight.

    How much did all the suspension work increase your payload? Thats a sizeable load for a Tundra, beautiful rig though guys, I just got one!

    • @chrisE815
      @chrisE815 3 года назад +2

      From a legal perspective, not one ounce, but practically speaking, looks like it's the perfect modification for the camper they built.

    • @jasonm4695
      @jasonm4695 2 года назад +3

      Suspension “work” doesn’t add to payload capacity. It manages how the truck rides with the load. Any additional items (eg. special light bar, winch recovery system, etc.) decreases payload capacity. With their gorgeous Hawk camper, dry, they are only 200-300 lbs shy of their max payload capacity. Add the people, camping supplies, water, propane, bicycles, cooking gear, etc. and they could easily be over their Tundra’s GVWR by 600-1000 lbs. The max axle weights alone are blown.

      Truck itself is about $40k new(although you can buy a nice used Tundra that's identical to a new one for 20-30k)
      The suspension, locking rear diff, front bumper, wheels/tires, and that flatbed, that's gotta be at least $10,000 worth of parts there. Although you can keep the stock bed and still put in a camper(just not that camper). You can also buy a Tundra with an 8' bed(theirs has the standard 6.5' bed/wheelbase).
      The camper, went to their website, starts at $27,000.
      Yeah this is a VERY top of the line build, but you can save tens of thousands of dollars and get a similar result if you buy a used truck and forgo some of the toys like that flat bed, custom bumper, etc.

    What a great rig. I like the channel and the adventures. New to the channel and I've already experienced 4 vehicles in 2 days! Looks like I'll be seeing the a Tundra for a long time. I do plan to look back at the history of your other vehicles and adventures leading up to this one.
