Thank you so much for posting this video. It helped me replace the lower & upper hood as well as the front grille (looong story) on my JD GT235. Really helpful. Glad to see a father and son team! One suggestion for the video is to try and hold the camera steady or use the image stabilizer setting if your camera has it. Thanks again and take care!

Thanks for the video guys. I am doing the same repair to my mother in laws 345 in the coming weeks once the parts arrive. I am using a Flip manufacturing upper and lower hood, and got the plastic bumper from Kumar Bros. I debated on the bumper replacement because it is just cosmetic and will probably just break again, but it was less than $30 from Kumar, so figured why not. You video helped because I didn't realize we were missing the black deflector that goes between the upper and lower hood, had to get that from JD as I could not find aftermarket. Not sure of the purpose of the deflector, maybe it keeps grass and dust out of the battery area? Kumar had the "345" decal for the lower hood, but they don't appear to offer the "John Deere" decals for the upper hood any longer, maybe got into trade mark trouble or something but I don't know. I had to get that decal from a different Amazon seller, hope the quality will be OK. Thanks again for video, it was a big help! On a side note, I have a son who is a big Pokemon & Lego fan as well.😊

The new hood looks great! I would suggest doing short videos, then creating a playlist in youtube (345 playlist). From what i think i know, the shorter videos linked to a playlist will increase retention time, which will make youtube more likely to recomend your content. Anyway, great looking machine. Cheers

I’ll share your advise with K he’s in charge you know. I’m also afraid I’ll never be able to upload frequently enough to get any real traction. But we are having fun learning as we go.

Thanks, this gave me the detail I needed for installing the new hood on my 355D. I'd stick with single purpose videos, but I'll watch them all if you are working on a 345/355D.

Unfortunately, content wise, the 345 keeps chugging along without needing much work. Thanks for watching/commenting! Tim

Enjoyed this video, exactly what size screws attach the upper hood to lower hood? Are they self threading and what was the metal brackets that i may need to put my new aftermarket 2 piece hood on my dads 1996 john deere Lx178? Also will i need a new metal piece for the rear top part of the upper hood that rests flat near top of steering wheel? Thanks, Scott 😊. Im hoping to mount our new hood today. You have a great kid there...im sure you're proud of him!

Great video but I couldn't hear the names of the company for the hood or decals?

It’s been 7months since you did this hood install, how has it held up? How does it compare to the factory hood?

Great video loved the commentator and when I ordered mine from Kumar Brothers, I didn’t get the 345 stickers in my package. Do you have a phone number for them?

I think I had to order the John Deere sticker and the 345 sticker separately. I ordered them from Amazon and don’t remember their contact info. Thanks for watching and commenting!

Dont worry dad . In a vary few years the boy will become disrespectful and every other word that comes from the boys mouth will be a curse word and some vulgar word with some GOD name in vain words also . Then he will think ha is all cool with his fellow so called friends . Keep a tight leash on the boy and keep him by your side as long as you can . They grow so fast and they learn so fast .

Seriously dude, I grew up working beside my dad and I don’t curse or use gods name in vain especially around my parents. I’m 25 years old and my dad and I work side by side every day. As far as my friends go, we don’t get into mischief and they don’t tell me how bad it is to work with my dad. It just depends on how you raise your kid.
