Guys, now that you've heard this band, I recommend taking a look at them live. Since you have the frame of reference, do Deadman's Party, 1985, Live at the Ritz. They were a shockingly tight band live, one of the best I've ever seen. And Elfman as a lead vocalist was no joke at all.

I know this reaction is a year old so maybe nobody will read this comment. Oingo Boingo was the very first concert I attended, when I was 11. It was the tour for this album. It changed my perspective on music forever (along with Pink Floyd which I discovered not long after). They were such an eclectic band. I mean Danny was and is a force of nature. But the band was a mix of Jewish guys, horns, definitely some Mexican influences… the drummer Johhny “Vatos”, and the bassist John Avila, added the Latino sounds, just a perfect synchronicity with all of their elements. This was Southern California for me in the 80s. I had a Latino fusion ska band play at my wedding and they gladly played some Boingo songs for us.

The Oingo Boingo Halloween Night Concert was a hot ticket for years in LA. I lived there from 83-96 and was lucky enough to make it to one. Dead Mans Party? The Finale. The absolute highlight of the night. Ever been to a concert where every single person was just dancing their asses off? This was one of those nights. A great night.

A couple I was hanging out with that night had come down from Vancouver, and they refused to leave the venue until they got to meet Danny Elfman. I saw Oingo Boingo, goinging as just Boingo at the time, on what would be their fair well tour...Impressive! Danny Elfman composed the music for The Simpsons, Beetle Juice, Batman movies and many other Marvel Comics movies to name only a few.

Danny Elfman is so incredibly talented, a style that is original and totally his. Love his music. Sadly, I almost got to do the whole backstage thing in 1982. A friend (a great player himself) was going to get us tickets but something got futzed up. Bummer!!!

The very talented Danny Elfman is quite a fascinating musician, fellows. I have seen him in a few interviews and wow his stories of struggling into the music business and persons he had become friends with, is unbelievably mind blowing. I listened to his life story on the Literally! Rob Lowe podcast. Danny has a famous niece, actress Jenna Elfman, who is currently a cast member and starring in Fear The Walking Dead on AMC. Danny is married to actress Bridget Fonda, she is the niece of legendary actress/ activist Jane Fonda.
Bridget’s Father was actor, the late Peter Fonda and Grandfather was legendary actor Henry Fonda. Bridget was born into a acting a Hollywood Family.
What I very much enjoy is Danny’s collaboration with director the sometimes creepy Tim Burton. Hahaha. Spanning 17 movie music scores. Alice in Wonderland, Beetlejuice, (1989) Batman, Corpse Bride, my personal favorite Edward Scissorhands, just to name a few.
Great reaction BTW and today is HALLOWEEN! 🎃🎃🎃🎃🎃👻👻👻🦇🕷🕸💀

You have no idea how many bangers and soul shattering yet heartwarming songs this man had created. He has many wacky ones , but also a few that touch on topics of suicide (Out of control) and other songs that leave you feeling like he sung you something that was meant to be healing and supportive. And maybe tell you how creepy pedophilia is (little girls)

I would play this album at parties in the dorm while in the Air Force in the 80s. Not everybody knew them but everyone really liked it when they heard it

*Ghostbusters 2* and *Batman* were both summer of 1989. I had the soundtracks to both films, and as an 11-year old kid I had no clue Danny Elfman was in Oingo Boingo. It was just a band name on a soundtrack to me. Come to think of it, *Batman* might have been the first time I'd ever heard of Elfman.
