- Enjoy my reaction as I watch " Tron Legacy" for the first time! I got to watch this with my kids in the PiB theater (we just recently finished our basement) and it was so much fun! We watched in preparation for the Tron ride at Disney World. Enjoy!

Nothing corrupted Clu, He was designed to create the perfect system. He saw the Isomorphs as a threat to his own programing.
Agreed. Flynn put Clu in charge, then changed the plans. Clu was confused because the iso's were not part of the original plan.
Flynn's problem is that he had no idea that he actually wasn't really interested in perfection but in beauty, which however cannot exist without a bit of imperfection.

Clue just followed his programing to its ultimate logical conclusion.

Flynn wasn't trapped on the Grid for 20 years...
Hours on the Grid were minutes in the real world...
Flynn was trapped on the Grid for over 2000 years from his perspective on the inside.
Stuff they said when it first came out put it closer to 1000 years, but yeah. A very long time.
@cirlincorvinus8293 it's hard to pin down because they only say minutes equals hours. Assuming one minute for one hour...about 2000 years.

@@Seven_Leaf It actually can be pinned down because we see the running clock when Sam tries to log in, and know almost the precise date of Legacy's real world events. The director has also given an estimation of Grid Time being about 50x faster than the real world (which aligns with Castor's statement, as that would be 47.61x faster).
It ends up being that Kevin has been in there for 1050 years from his perspective. And 1 min in the real world is 0.833 hours on the Grid.
Proud of you for respecting your boys privacy and not showing them on camera like everyone else does .

This film was wondrous on that big screen (even more than the original that I saw, as a child, when it first came out...and that was mind-altering for a youngster). Glad I saw this with my own sons.
Unfortunately per the reports Tron: Ares is going to be a total reboot of the series and not a sequel to Legacy. Tbh I don't understand this move, the only thing that come's to my mind now is that Disney will ruin another franchise with un-needed reboot to "meet the standards of the modern audiane".
Oh and its produced by and starred as titular role by Jared Leto....

Joachim Rønning and Motion Blur are renown for commercials. Everything Disney touches turns to sh*t. I'm not getting anywhere close to anything that smells like Disney. I sold off their stock during the Mike Eisner years for a profit and never looked back. I should thank them for all the money they have saved me and for showing me that I could do just fine without them in my life.

I love the ending of this movie. The most notable thing about Tron is the stunning neon visuals of its virtual world. Its a visual spectacle. But, imagine if you grew up there. Imagine that's what's normal to you. Then imagine you see our world. As amazing as Tron's virtual world looks to us, our world looks amazing to Quorra. Olivia Wilde does a great job portraying what that must feel like.
Yeah, I remember how right after I saw the film for the first time, the sunrise looked somehow different to me than usual.
Oh I couldn’t agree more. They ended it soo well here.
And it wasn't even that great of a sunrise. Which is okay, she'll continue to be amazed that they can be even better.
@@OgreProgrammer The trick is that you must never take it for granted. If you view each sunrise as unique, you get more out of it. Once you have internalized this, you will not be able to stop being amazed at the sight of a starry sky.

Fun facts:
1) Tron: Ares will begin filming soon.
2) Jeff Bridges had his entire 'young-self' imaged. Disney owns his likeness. Jeff Bridges has said, "They have me now."
3) Bruce Boxleitner who plays Tron ALSO had himself "imaged".
This was also one of the first, if not THE first, examples of the digital deaging effects in film.

I saw this and the '82 movie in the theatre. I felt like a kid again-this was one of the few sequels that captured the flavour of the original

"One thing I always enjoyed about Clu 2.0 is that he isn't really a "rogue" AI. He reminds me of what I was told in high school in my computer science class, "programs don't make mistakes, they do exactly as they're told" in regards to any errors that would occur when coding a simple program."

It's the paperclips maximizer. Also known as the Sorcerer's apprentice's broom.
If that digital world was a more modern system, Flynn would've recognized the use of updates rather than building entirely new versions, and Clu would've been updated with new commands instead of clinging to the original coding.
Clu is the 2010 version of the HAL 9000 from _2001: A Space Odyssey._ HAL wasn't really evil. He was given two sets of orders which contradicted each other. The compulsion to carry out both orders caused HAL to go mad and kill the crew.
We had a young programmer in class one day. Her program had an error in it and the hard drive said, wait, you want me to drop the head on sector 0,0? Really? Ohhh kaaaayyyyy.... Since the drive was toasted, us lab techs opened it up later and there was a groove in the disk platter. Ah the fun of C. It will let you shoot yourself in the foot if you ask it to.
The great thing about computers is, they do exactly what you tell them. The bad thing about computers is, they do exactly what you tell them.
This movie's director, Joseph Kosinski, was a well regarded digital architect and designer before he got this film as his first directing job. His stylistic imprint is all over this movie throughout the costume and production design. The aesthetic world he created is kind of breathtaking, and worth revisiting periodically.

Beautiful though it looks, there's no logical reason for a 3d virtual environment in this film because it's not a game environment but rather an OS designed by Clu. At least in Tron 1 the reason for it being 3d was because the whole setting was a virtual game environment designed by Flynn. Also characters being called programs rather than PCs and NPCs , is again not in keeping with gaming vocabulary.
@@kristinaF54 Flynn intentionally created it to be a virtual environment. He didn't actually design the world of the Grid in Tron 1- he only discovered it after the MCP zapped him. He then took the inspiration from that to start creating his new Grid (and the subsequent obsessions with "digital frontiers" and virtual worlds). Including the Programs as sentient lifeforms instead of just the avatars of simple computing functions.
Likewise, keep in mind that Flynn created the new Grid in the 1980's, and was trapped in 1989. He wouldn't know about later popular gaming vocabulary (and, given that he's basing everything on his experiences in 1982, he would be unlikely to want to stop referring to them as Programs since that is what they called themselves on the original Grid).
@@kristinaF54 An OS? This was Flynns own "playground" and not the operating system that Encom releases. The original "grid" in Tron wasn't a game either really, it was also a computer system running different programs.
The shot of the Recognizers flying through the clouds to the arena is one of the coolest shots ever. The whole look of the world is such an amazing mix of cyberpunk and retro futurism and Tron.
The funniest part for me is Clu: "Flynn! Am I still to create the perfect system?!" -silent pause- Flynn: "Yeah?" sounding like the dude. I laughed out loud in the theater.
"I created the perfect system!" "Yeah, well that's like...your opinion man."
For me, when I saw this in theaters, I was not aware that the four "square pattern" on Rinzler's chest, was the exact same pattern that was on Tron's chest in the original Tron. It's one of his identifying marks.
So he was an original program I'm assuming....
@@walther007 He was Alan's original Tron program. A security program for the old ENCOM system. (Basically meant to be a Cop or Law Enforcer equivalent. He was certainly also a warrior type. Meant to outclass other programs that would seek to invade a system he's guarding.
Flynn borrowed Tron to become the new security program for his new Grid. One might assume that Alan and Flynn might've updated and upgraded him before bringing him over.

As a child, my parents showed me the original Tron and, in an effort to scare me away from video games, told me I'd end up in the "Tron world" if I played too many of them.

There's a little known tv show called Tron: Uprising that takes place in between the original Tron movie and the new 2010 movie. It's very good. I'd highly recommended it if you're a fan of Tron and haven't seen it. In my opinion, Tron: Uprising is the best piece of Tron media to date.

I too loved the series but it did get canceled partway through production so it doesn't have a conclusion, it just stops :(
To me the best piece of media is Tron 2.0 which was the game that was made as a sequel to the first move but had a completely different plot to Tron Legacy because when it was made it ignored the plot of that game. The good news is the game can still be bought for cheap on Steam or GoG and these days even a low end computer can run it great.

@ct6852 Yeah, it's animated. It tells the story of what happened to Tron between the movies.
Also there is a video game Tron: evolution, which is a prequel to Tron: Legacy… tells the story of the purge and how Quora meets Flynn
8:26 This is the actual TRON arcade game that was made by Bally Midway and was available in video game arcades in 1982! And that’s how the game really looked on its screen! So many of us who were kids, teenagers and young adults back then played this very same game, Cassie! And the Journey tune “Separate Ways” (from 1983) playing in the background? A little reminder of Journey’s contribution to the TRON soundtrack back in 1982 with the song “Only Solutions,” which played over the end credits.

I keep spamming New Wave Toys, the makers of Replicade to create a replica of the Tron Cab, but they are just ignoring me.
Light cycles was no joke. Pretty sure the real thing would be easier (and maybe even less stressful :).
A funny nugget of information is that this movie was shot in 3D (many movies are converted later), which gives the image an extra crispy look (especially in dark areas) in 3D theatre. Combined with Daft Punk's music (who were sometimes present on set to feel the movie's mood), this movie truly was a cinematic experience. I went to IMAX 3 times and was blown away by the movie's atmosphere every time. What I am trying to say that this movie is little bit like a music video - watching it in the correct settings truly elevates the experience.
This movie holds a special place in my heart. I saw it in 3D with my dad, and the movie being about a father and son meant a lot to us.
Take a parent and a child to see Logan. I took my daughter but no parents.
The white bike Flynn has on the Grid is his actual lightcycle from the original Tron, which he upgraded.
The gold model Clu picks up in Flynn’s hideout is a statuette of Clu’s Bit companion from the original Tron that was with him in the tank at the beginning of the film, right before he’s crushed by the Recognizer-sorry, “giant gazebo thing.” Clu smiles when holding it because he remembers his little friend.
Seriously underrated movie. Its look alone is iconic

That's how I feel about the '82 film. I saw it in the movies, and still remember the thrill of it. I used to play games at the arcade (especially stuff like Galaga) and pretend there were helpless programs flying the enemy bug ships

Tron: Legacy came out in Dec 2010, so really 13 years and a month, but yeah 13 or 14, it’s unbelievably a long time ago and yet feels like yesterday.

I’ve been working in an incredibly toxic work environment. Finally reached my limit and walked off my job today. There is nothing better than coming home and hanging out with this beautiful crowd for a little bit.

The hyped this movie up so much and then it fizzled out when it was released. I thinks it's good. I love when Sam goes back to Flynn's after it had been closed, the sound of all the video games turning on and "Separate Ways" by Journey starts to play when he powers everything up. The light cycle scene was great as well.
Both Tron films went that way. Disney was trying hard to get a franchise going like Star Wars. Both films did okay, but not as good as Disney wanted and hoped for. Tron 3 will probably go the same way. Already on the third director and just started filming. It will probably do okay and be popular with established fans just like the others. I'm not giving Disney any of my money so I'll wait for it.
Unfortunately, the story has never been as good as the effects -- and then Legacy has the extra problem that the "young Jeff Bridges" didn't look at all real.
Before the movie came out, there was an ARG at conventions, and Alan Bradley showed up for Encom to talk about mobile remasters for Space Paranoids and Tron. It also ended with con goers sending the page that jumpstarts the plot.
Cassie, the Daft Punk soundtrack to this is -incredible- it can truly be listened to as a standalone album. Very synthwave / vaporwave.
I own the album and listen to it to this day! The fact daft punk is not doing more feature films is a shame and a waste

When 3D movies were all the rage I went to go watch this movie in 3D. A message played at the beginning letting people know that the 3D does not begin immediately. The coolest thing was the 3D started as soon as Sam Flynn was transported to The Grid (Tron Universe). When he steps out of the arcade at looks at it all of the sudden the 3D kicked in. Man, this movie is what 3D was made for! This movie is so underrated.
As for the ride at Disney its the Lightcycles. You can see what the ride looks like here on RUclips as Disney in China has had the ride for some years.
It was 3D in the real world too. It was only 2D in the flashbacks.
@@corneliusoverton2617Dont know where you saw it, but the 3D only kicks in after he steps out of the aracde in the Grid. Prior to that it was all 2D. The message in the beginning of the movie was to alert people there was nothing wrong with the movie. Go look it up online.
@@hr1megI own the 3D bluray and I watch it several times a year (including recently). It's definitely 3D, before he enters the gird. It's only 2D in the flashbacks, when hes a boy.
I take it that the little memory card Sam wore on a chain at the end of the movie, the one with the little slow-flashing LED, has a copy of Kevin Flynn saved on it. That's how he'd bring back his father.
You don't know Daft Punk, so you don't know their "schtick" was they always wore these stylized helmets with lots of LEDs. You never see their faces. Yes, they were the DJs in the club where Clu attacked Sam and Quorra.
You'll have to report back on how good the Tron ride is. I've only been to Disney World once, and I'd like to go back again.
That actually reminds me of a story arc in the old Transformers comic book from the '80s where Optimus Prime's mind was saved on a floppy disk! (No joke)
God, that epic music has been on my go-to playlist since this movie came out.

- Garrett Hedlund, who plays Sam Flynn, is more of a character actor now. He played Patroclus, cousin of Brad Pitt's Achilles in Troy: he was Murtagh in the film Eragon, based on the Christopher Paolini novel: and he has a list of films he turned down like Finnick Odair in The Hunger Games films and Christian Grey in 50 Shades of Grey. The most recent thing that I saw him in was the Paramount Plus series Tulsa King starring Sylvester Stallone.
- Daft Punk were comprised of the French musicians Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. They had a lot of dance and electronic hits. They had a huge hit with "Get Lucky" with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers. They have now disbanded. A fun taste of the music they made is the Daft Punk Medley by Pentatonix, an all a capella rendition of several of their most famous songs, that won Pentatonix a Grammy Award. Daft Punk actually are in the film, in their signature robot helmets in the club scene (23:24), when Castor/Zeus says, "Change the scheme, Alter the mood, Electrify the boys and girls, if you'd be so kind!" Daft Punk are in the booth.
- Castor/Zeus is played by the brilliant Welsh actor Michael Sheen, who took the job because he loved the original Tron as a kid. Sheen is known for several films and TV series: He has been the main actor for Peter Morgan projects involving the Royal Family, playing former British Prime Minister Tony Blair in The Queen, The Special Relationship, and The Deal. He played David Frost on stage and then in the film version of Frost/Nixon opposite his stage partner Frank Langella as Richard Nixon. He was Lucian, leader of the Lycans (werewolves) in the Underworld films, and was Aro of the Volturi vampires in the Twilight Saga. He is mostly busy with projects with his friend David Tennant like the next season of Good Omens for Amazon (Sheen is an angel, and Tennant is a demon) and their web series Staged, a comedy created using Zoom technology during the lockdown. Must see films: The Queen (Helen Mirren won an Oscar as Queen Elizabeth II dealing with the death of Diana, Princess of Wales), Frost/Nixon (about the legendary post Presidency interview David Frost had with Richard Nixon), and The Damned United (where he plays Brian Clough, the manager of the Leeds United football (soccer) team in the 1970s).
- There is a clue for Rinzler in being Tron, but repurposed...The chest piece Rinzler has is the same as Tron's in the first movie and the flashback. Center of the chest are three dots, and just under the second dot is a single dot, a total of four dots or squares. And when Rinzler says, "User" in the games after pinning Sam, it is Bruce Boxleitner's voice, even though Bruce is not playing Rinzler physically.
- There were more films planned and because the movie didn't perform to expectations, the others were put on hold. There was also a Tron cartoon with Bruce Boxleitner's voice, alongside Elijah Wood, and Mandy Moore called Tron Uprising that lasted one season on Disney XD. There is a new Tron being planned called Tron Ares with Jared Leto, but not much is known about it yet.
Daft punk actually worked with an orchestra to compose all those pieces and then on top of that added their own electronic flare. That's why it sounds orchestral but yet also digital
it's sounds so recognizable and epic in scale that for me it's right up there with John Williams' work in SW, Jurassic Park, Superman. epic is the word. truly epic
I took my old associate and friend (R.I.P.) to see it in 3D. A martial artist he trained with portrayed the stunts for "Rinzler". As with the original TRON film, this one helped to revolutionize film graphics, facial morphing, etc. Still hard to believe this movie is 24 years old.

I still think they shouldn't have shown Flynn's face in the intro. The tech still wasn't 'there', so while the effect works on CLU, because program, it's a little unsettling in those opening moments.
There's no beauty without imperfections, and there's no perfection without beauty.
Fun story, the beginning part when Kevin is talking to Sam as a boy, that scene is shot in Crescent Beach BC, I used to go there a ton as a kid. Those houses all sit on the waterfront to one of the most beautiful views of the Straight of Georgia looking towards Vancouver Island.
The very last track of the soundtrack is Flynn Lives. It's implied that yeah, he survived in some way. Possibly, just he went to energy conversion, and then would form a new digital body.
FINALLY!!! Someone who watches movies in the dark like they were meant to be watched , and yea the bright screen is going to give enough light for us to see your face and reactions ... Boggles my mind that other channels haven't figured this out yet , like duh
I do my own reactions in the dark as well. It is strange many youtubers have so much background light and don't get how to get this effect.
This honored the original and moved the story forward, unlike what Disney did to Star Wars.

Are you kidding? Disney Star Wars is great. If I could find some way to remake it in corporeal form I could spread it on my garden and have bumper crops for years.
ya it was inevitable that Star Wars would be trashed by Disney. You can't take a great concept and manage it by committee.

People couldn’t see past the original when this was released, but it grew, it grew and became its own. legacy is one of the great sleepers and eventually people woke up to it and it has one of the greatest soundtracks ever. TRON: Legacy is incredible 🥰
The actor playing Sam is Garrett Hedlund. He has been in a lot of movies but the most notable before this one was Friday Night Lights.
Joseph Kosinski directed this and some other great movies before directing Top Gun: Maverick as well

Back in the 80s the first Tron game was exactly like shown in the movie, you raced light cycles, had battle tanks all the things you saw in the first movie. About a year later Discs of Tron came out. Essentially started with three platforms each, each level that would change from two up to five. initially you just threw on a level playing field, bouncing the disc off the walls and back wall to knock the opponent off his platform. Later rounds you could bounce off the floor and ceiling as well and the platforms would derez if they were hit by the discs. One of the greatest arcade games ever made. So many quarters in that thing... I coulda been rich!
Blew through a lot of quarters on Tron: Deadly Discs.
The Tron game hiding the entrance to Flynn's office is the actual Tron game (with an Encom logo added). You can see the light cycle part for a second or two. And yeah, it's pretty much head-to-head Snake.
So Tron was a game before it was a movie? Or did the game come out after the movie?

This movie is so underrated in my opinion. From the music, tone, visuals, story & conflict (are we all nothing more than a program?). I love this movie, soundtrack is still tops.
This is one of those movies that I drop everything to watch a reaction, and yours was great.
CLU was digitally created using motion capture of Jeff Bridges' face. If I remember right, this was the first feature film that used the technology to de-age a recognizable human actor (as opposed to showing creatures or aliens).
I think it works so well as the copy is a digital world copy, so any imperfections seem right for the Tron World. It will be interesting how this CGI keeps developing.
This movie holds a very special place in my heart. Like Sam, I was estranged from my own father for 15 years until we reconciled a little before Tron Legacy came out in theaters. I took him to it and we both loved it. Watching movies together had always been our love language. Sadly, like Sam, my reunion with my Dad would be far too short as I would lose him to cancer just a few years later.
Alan is a real brother.
And a real uncle to Sam.

Interesting Note: When they’re eating Flynn said hours in here were minutes in the real world… might’ve been 20 years for Sam, it was much longer for Flynn… some have estimated possibly thousands of years
So, did some very quick rough calculations on my phone. If one Millicycle is about eight hours, and there are one thousand Millicycles per cycle, then one cycle is approximately 333.3 days, which I think works out at 1000 cycles being around 2'700 years

The techno song you sang in the intro I believe was called sandstorm. Everyone who knows techno knows sandstorm.
One of the few times I left the theater and ran right to Best Buy to snag the soundtrack. Sadly, I cannot do that anymore.
Sam is using a Nokia N8, the first touch screen phone I ever owned. I loved that phone.
This is the only movie I saw in 3d that actually felt like it should be watched in 3d. (Also still very pretty in normal viewing, though.)
All the light bar elements really popped-out in 3D. Like you could almost reach out and touch the foot restraints that swung-up to secure Sam to the platforms. And the flying ID discs going straight for you!
I love this movie from the soundtrack to the visuals,it's an amazing and underrated movie.
Daft Punk is a now retired French house DJ duo. Legends! The song you were humming in the beginning was Sandstorm by Darude. You might have heard their popular song One More Time.
No Cassie, the humans are not controlling the programs. They literally live their lives doing what their primary function is, BUT they are not actively monitored, as if "someone is playing a game." Any electronic system needs programs to keep the system operational; that is what we are seeing on the grid. But no one is "controlling" the programs.
I came here to say that
First, Imax 3D I ever saw with the 3D glasses in theater. So amazing seeing the light bikes.
This movie was awesome in theaters (and is great if you have the setup at home for it). Everything in the real world is 2D and as soon as we enter the digital world it turned to 3D.
They felt to put a disclaimer at the start because when the movie starts the 3D glasses don't have an effect. They were like "We know, it's by design, don't worry."
Taking my kid to Disney for their first ride on Tron next week. It's amazing - you're going to love it.
Trom was never on my radar, my college friend convinced like 15 of us to go see this in theaters. Shout out to the homie! Great movie, was an epic watch

I always saw it that they merged to form a new digital God saved on that disk Sam has around his neck. And in the originally planned 3rd movie Sam works with that being to create a new digital universe to replace the internet.

I didn’t mind Clu’s appearance since he is a digital version of Flynn, but there’s definitely some uncanny valley going on.
I LOVE that song, Sweet Things are Made of This, but it's even better to hear it thump through walls.

Such a great movie. They did an animated series that’s between this one and the first Tron. It tells us what happened to Tron. The problem in this movie with the way Clu looks is due to Jeff Bridges beard. The computer couldn’t get an accurate view of his mouth moving cause they couldn’t put the dots around his mouth on his skin. It works for Clu though cause he’s a computer design from the old system but when they show Kevin when he was younger it doesn’t work that well. I love in this movie how they do callbacks to the original. Like when Sam goes into ENCOM he makes a remark about the door like his dad did. When Sam goes into his dad’s office at the arcade you see the hand held football game Kevin was playing.
‘Evil gazebos’. HAHAHAHA!
Jeff Bridges' de-aging for Clu definitely looks dated these days, but keep in mind when this film released 15 years ago this was one of the very first times it had ever been done, and I think it's held up surprisingly well. When they mo-capped Jeff's face for the Clu scenes, he commented that this is exactly what happened in Tron, where his likeness was scanned into a computer and replicated.
The dogfight sequence is spectacular.
At the beginning, was she humming Darude’s “Sandstorm”? That unlocked a lot of memories…
Fun fact when Rinzler joins the games and the crowd is chanting Rinzler, that was recorded at the comic con panel, they asked the audience to shout these phrases.
I think the idea is that because Sam Flynn had to use Jeff Bridge's disc to get out of the system that he can use it to bring his dad back becuase you're "saved" on your disc.👍
Not a bad theory, but I think its more like a security token; a pass to get between worlds. Clu wants Jeff's disk to get into the real world, where he can open the gate for his army. Quora uses Jeff's disk to get into the real world to escape, which is why he traded discs with her. She is a program and has no native way to get out.
Good point. I'd also back a sort of digital resurrection (being reborn among a new wave of ISOs).
This movie was the best 3D experience I’ve had. The real world was 2D but the grid was all in 3D and it was amazing.
The whole soundtrack was done by Daft Punk, and they even appeared in the bar scene as the DJs. They're fantastic. =)

I remember going to Disneyland in 2010 and they really acted like they were prepared for Tron to be the next Star Wars.
Disney shelved all their Tron plans for "Tomorrowland". Maybe not their biggest mistake ever, but certainly a huge one.

I believe Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde knew each other from acting school and were in the same class, which is why they got along so well for Tron Legacy.
I love this movie so much. Had a couple of friends of mine tell me I had to watch it, so I very fortunately got to see this not only on the big screen but also in 3D, as this movie has the best 3D I've seen in a movie. The Tron Disney castle at the beginning was so awesome when that Disney text scrolled it was so close you could grab it. But watching it later, now that I boys of my own, when Flynn says "he's my son" just hits something hard now.
This was Disney's FIRST attempt at de-aging.
Technically true, but it was Digital Domain's second time doing digital heads. The first was The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, for which Digital Domain won Academy Awards, and the same underlying technology was used in Tron: Legacy. Unfortunately a number of factors led to results that fell far short of the quality of Benjamin Button.

I think they just had different problems.
Young Flynn/CLU2 had a uh....detail and realism problem, but looked and moved and acted like Jeff Bridges.
But Young Luke had the detail and realism....but just didn't quite look like Luke because of the underlying double not looking like Mark Hamill, and had to keep his acting super subdued to help the illusion.
Some felt that the de-aging technology used in TRON Legacy was appropriate because after all, Clu is a digital being. He doesn't necessarily have to look like a perfect human. @@ieyke
I went to see the first Tron in the theater when it came out. Years later my son and I watched Tron Legacy together.
Daft Punk not only did the entire soundtrack for this movie; they also had cameos in it as the DJ programs in the club scene.
Still one of the most visually pleasing movies I’ve seen. Might not have the charm of the first Tron but that was always gonna be the case. Seeing this in 3D at the cinema was awesome.
Garrett Hedlund (Sam) was in a fun action movie called "Four Brothers" with Mark Wahlberg. And Jeff Bridges in his absolute prime was in one of my favorite all time films called "Fisher King" with Robin Williams.

I saw this in theatres, I watch it every now and then, I absolutely love the soundtrack and listen to it to sleep sometimes. This movie is in my top 5 for sure. It's a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.
Also the angry purring/growling sound Rinzler makes is an audio composite of corrupted and damaged hard drives/modems.
Sam was Brad Pitt's cousin in Troy.

The hype for this movie for us Gen-Xers was off the chain when it came out. I loved the way it turned out. Glad you got to watch it with your kids!
