At first I wondered why Roxas threw the Oblivion at Riku.
But after thinking about it for awhile I came to the conclusion that Roxas would always keep his oath.
Because of Days, this song will forever be imbued with the feeling of anger, desperation, and sadness that Roxas felt after losing his purpose and witnessing one of his best friends die in his arms.
Too bad he never got the chance to finish anything..
"Another Side" always struck me as a sad song when we first heard it from Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix.
Until playing Days, however, we couldn't possibly fathom just how sad it really is.
Roxas: Who are you!?
Riku: Why does it matter? I'm here for you.
Roxas; Why are you trying to stop me!?
Riku: Because I want back the rest of Sora's memories.
Roxas: Sora!? Enough about Sora!
Riku: Do you have some kind of plan?
Roxas: I'll set Kingdom Hearts free! And everything will be the way it was! She'll come back... and the three of us can be together again!
Riku: You mean Xion? It's a struggle just to remember the name now... Either way, I can't let you go do anything crazy.
Roxas: I'm freeing Kingdom Hearts and I'm going to find Sora! I want Xion back! I want my life back!
Riku: If you try and make contact with Kingdom Hearts, the last thing you'll get is your life back. The Organization will destroy you!

The problem with the BBS one was that they repeated it at the wrong time, taking out a huge and probably my favorite part of the original Another Side song.
Hearing the "true" form of this takes me back to playing 358/2 Days for the first time and having massive goosebumps at the beginning of the skyscraper scene and how the Final Mix ending that captured our imaginations was finally playable. Full circle indeed.

Nope. Xion made him throw it. So that she could subconsciously speak to Riku and tell him to stop Roxas. Which is why in Days, we get a scene of Riku having a flashback of Xion as he grabs hold of the Keyblade.

@ShonicTH And I think you misunderstood me. I know the midis exist directly on the DS (Done some ripping myself) however, the songs are created beforehand and brought onto the DS, at a compressed quality. You won't hear this quality on the DS system, but these high quality versions have always existed.
Basically, these are the midis with uncompressed soundfonts, or their 'true form'
The way both Roxas and Ventus wield their Keyblades was settled since KH2, the same for they appearance, so I doubt they didn't considered that...
Braig doesn't deserve this theme as much as Riku does. This theme is filled with sad memories, but when you come across the memory of Braig, you begin to think,'Huh?'
Braig doesn't fit in there. They should have used 'Black Powder' like they did with the Terra vs. Braig battle.

I don't think Xion threw the keyblade at Riku. I think Roxas was just trying to attack Riku with a Raid attack and Riku managed to grab the keyblade.
The flashback was probably because the second keyblade was, in fact, Xion's.

For those who wonder why Roxas threw Oblivion to Riku. Xion threw it. She wanted Riku to stop Roxas because she thought he wasn't strong enough to face Xemnas.

@technologick1183 Not ALL, some games do use prerecorded music, such as radiant History. I can tell you from experience that the Revenant Wings soundtrack IS midi, however.

@octapusxft They didn't remake them, the music had to be heavily compressed to fit on the DS. All the music on all the CD are all the uncompressed 'true' forms of the songs

@Hatokman You're kind of off by a bit because some synthesizers use physical modeling and it might have been performed by a real orchestra. Also, I have never seen a single MIDI file on a DS game. I've only seen files that can be converted to MIDI. The Nintendo DS also supports Soundfonts, so they can have some pretty good quality.
this is the BBS version on the Days version (which i liked more) had the orcestial ending while this is acctully not ending + the intro of the DAys version (organization theme) last longer before it really begins I heard the Days version manny times
This song was that moment in KH 2 where you were running on the building if i recall correctly
Uh... not really, I don't think. This was used in Birth By Sleep as Aqua's semi-final boss battle in her story, and in 358/2 days, during the last fight of the game.

It was the non-battle version and it was Roxas running on the building (I guess you could say that was "you" ie. Sora in some weird way).

I think Xion is Soras real and fake memories with a heart of Sora's piece of Kairi's heart with the magic of Aqua...(little confusing)... but when shes gone, the power of Soras goes to Roxas AND(sort of) to Riku, like the way that Riku can grab the keyblade from Sora in KH[One], and the heart of Ventus is already in Roxas, so he can use 2 keyblades... Thats my theory... which is funny doh : 3
they why is it that in KH2 roxas can use both keyblades when he fights sora, and in the opening for 3D he can dual wield the same time both ven and sora summen their jeyblades? besides we never really diid see xion use her keyblade the smae time as roxas before he lent her his.

With your theory, would you say the same is for all the DS and GBA games? I heard the real version of Bowser's Castle from Mario Kart: Super Circuit on another account and the tracks used for Final Fantasy XII were reused for Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings.

In BBS, it seems like the original version was used. It definitely doesn't have the same tone as this version.
@Hatokman false. They had to create midis out of all the songs, meaning they litterally were remade. Trust me, I've done some ripping and I have seen the inside of the DS filesystem, and all the songs(Except the title screen and the credits) are all midis.
Having Sora save them is just some sort of dream the fans of the series have. Of course, I'd like to see some of them in the sequels as well, but it's more of a believe that Square Enix didn't just completely wipe them out of the series and that they would somehow be returned to the series :p

@OniLink96 It isn't? I thought it was because of the Keychain being a wayfinder that Kairi made for Sora.
@BrianMNDBPH I guess you got me there, however, I know about the soundfonts, they just can't be very high quality soundfonts because the DS has such small cartridge space. So I guess, more accurately, the soundfont is compressed.

nah, bothh keybladees were roxas's/ hte one he used throught most of days, and when he lent that keyblade to xion, it was an unintended rite of succession so she was able to gain one as well. when they merged together roxas regained both.

@lordoYYH255 A lot of complaints were the controls for the camera, a game like this isn't at it's peak while on a handheld. It would be best for PS3, since as you said PS2 is quite dated now.
@Hatokman Yeah. It's nice to know that somebody else has knowledge like that other than me! The only reason I know is because I make some remixes for Kingdom Hearts and Legend of Zelda like sasukeshika. You should check out his channel! He's really good!

OR what if it was simply a good fight, as often in sword fights, if one was unarmed, the fighter with two swords would give on up to the other in a show that he can beat the other.

Could someone explain to me why and how Sora is supposed to save Roxas, Xion, Namine, and Axel? Because Roxas and Namine are fused with their correct bodies, Axel turned back into Lea, and Xion shouldn't have existed in the first place. I understand The Birth By Sleep protagonists' situation, though.
This version sounds slightly faster to me.
