Maybe the end of EBF 2 and end of EBF 3 blended together in that dream? You fight Lance at the end of 2 and enter a black hole to fight the final boss of 3.

Seems more appropriate to the name than the original, but removing the backbeat would have removed the part that best demonstrates Lance's character.

@Hexkon Actually if i am not mistaken. The time you fight Akron in EBF3 exactly that music is played without some parts. I always used to go into battle with Akron and just stop doing my turns so i could listen to the music. Or just mute the SFX
This would've been awesome with a drum beat kind of building up then stopping because I mean whoever played Kingdom Hearts they had organ battle music for Ansem's theme and OMG its like shit got real. This music is ok just feels like a defeated boss theme which I never played the game but I have a hunch its really great which I will look for and try sometime

Granted, the lack of drums did put a lot more emphasis on the fact that this is different, this is the end - the end for you. ...Until your umpteenth playthrough when you've gotten good enough at the game that it starts feeling like you're sending the boss to its funeral instead, in a slog about as exciting as the music (that is to say, not very). But hey! Not their fault I played their games too much XD

It's just a cool version of the song that I think Phyrnna might have made before making it into the actual Final Battle theme in EBF2.
