Beating the GodCat fight on Epic Difficulty was an achievement I was truly proud of when I was younger to the point I went up to my older brother to tell him about it right after.
Akron was a fight of power. Mere power. Can you kill the destroyer deity before it kills you. Devourer was a matter of not getting caught off guard and evade tanking. He has like 15 attacks, but 10 of them are the same attack segemented into several parts. As long as you can keep it under control, everything is fine. Godcat was a fight of endurance. Of *might*.

This truly illustrates the fight - 4 Generic Mortals desperate to save the world against two Immortal Cat-Gods that only wish to rid of those and all other humans from existence. Amazing.
apple dapple hell yeah. I bought ebf5 on steam, and that game is so much more than I ever could’ve asked for. It’s the best parts of the first four games plus an extra 50 hours of content.
To this day i still believe this is the greatest final boss theme ive ever heard, over my countless hours playing games, in the range of souls games to rouge-likes, looter shooters, turn based rpgs, and many more, no boss theme has yet to touch this, this boss theme is perfect in every respect of the word. It also feels like i hear bit and pieces of all the other area themes in this song, combining you adventure into the penultimate culmination of those tracks against what is the manifestation of the gods of good and evil.
EBF4 still has some of the best soundtracks in gaming imo. And this piece is damn fine proof of that. Big epic final boss fight needs an appropriate tune, still fits perfectly
I won't deny that this soundtrack is amazing (hence why I'm here) but there is defiantly better soundtracks out there. check out ff6 soundtrack. It's fire on every level.
I honestly found EBF4s final boss much harder than EBF5s. The Devourer had a rather small array of elemental attacks while the Godcats' range had almost every element.
Not just that, godcat was also 2 bosses at once you fought in 3 waves with additional pre-phases where you had to survive. We also have more possibilities in EBF5 making it easier to take out bosses compared to EBF4
Major factor is also the fact that male wearing equipment actually SUCKS until EBF5 so in EBF4 you're likely doing literally everything with Anna and Natalie because female equipment actually had elemental resistances and stat boosts pretty neatly distributed. This problem is even more prominent in EBF3, but now in EBF5 it kinda feels almost like it's the opposite of that
When I saw both the Godcats in their tank things, both fighting me, with THIS in the background, I felt quite hopeless. Them summoning massive amounts of enemies to kick my ass with attacks that did 10k damage to everyone didn't help either....
I found 3 to be harder because in 4, you had much easier access to elemental resists. Heck, Godcat was much easier imo than Arkon simply because the elemental resists and status buffs were easier to get to, and having a 4th player with a bunch of coffee just in case is very helpful.
Arkon - EBF3 : One wave, one boss ( cosmic monoliths was a nightmare ) Godcat - EBF4 : Seven waves, twins, dual at wave 6 Cosmic Gigalith/ The Devourer - EBF5 : Only two waves for each, a real challenge but it's still nothing compared to EBF4
one thing i considered easier in godcat's fights were that you had a break every time you managed to defeat one of them, the devourer just gets madder the more you lower his HP

Godcat was the one boss that made me utilize the mechanic of "change equipment mid battle." Also had to grind to level 34 and still had a hard time on epic. Is it legal for a boss to kill your whole party in one hit on the first turn even when you are buffed? I feel a long lost part of my mind was back when I got one of them down at wave 6. The theme also kills. It gets epic and more epic and even more epic. My favorite part is 4:40.

+shark harold think about Akron's return :3 he will send some of his servants and steal the other character's power, except from our heroes but 1 player will be added, his class would be a beast tamer and he is powerful than Akron, but 1 day, 1 of Akron's servant find the victim and that would be the great move to steal the power of the beast tamer, then when the beast tamer began to battle the servant, the servant calls all of the Akron's servant and defeated the beast tamer, but suddenly the beast tamer's best partner unleashes and takes his tamer far away to the servants (the beast tamer should be injured), the beast tamer's best partner see's our hero (which is Matt, Natalie, Lance, Anna, and NoLegs) where they camped out at night and bring his tamer to them but the beast tamer's best partner didn't showed up from our heroes and goes up to the sky and seeing them what are they doing to the beast tamer (if they got a high connections between old players and new player, the beast tamer will show itself in a right time) then Natalie and Anna cured the beast tamer and take them some rest, then the beast tamer forgotten everything except his name and the deity, Akron. I really love making stories :3

As much as I love The Devourer as a final boss for EBF5, I can't deny feeling like Godcat had more weight to them, in good part because of the buildup from meeting them in the early game.
On his facebook page and website he frequently updates the progress being made on the game and new elements are added nearly every day. He announced a few weeks ago that it was 10% done, I know that he's finished character animations, is working on enemies ( he must have around 85 by now) andis working on some game mecanics! It's coming along great and I'm as hyped as everyone else!
I had this melody in my head for a past two days. I was wondering where it came from. Now I bought a full version of EBF4 and looked up its ost. Was looking for desert theme. Clicked on this as if it was the desert theme and was surprised when I heard this. Not complaining, this is amazing!

I wonder, in a battle between Godcat and Asriel Dreemurr (god of hyperdeath)… who would actually win? Personally, I’d say maybe Asriel because he has multiversal striking force and temporal manipulation abilities; on the other hand, Godcat is also pretty fucking strong, and like Asriel, she too has infinite defense. Admittedly, Godcat *could* also have temporal manipulation abilities, fourth-wall awareness, and multiversal control… it has been a while since I’ve played, to be fair. Thing I love about this game is godcat is continually increasing in power as the jewels fuel him restoring him to his god like strength. At first he can only manifest himself for a few moments. Than towards the end of the game he gains enough power to permanently stay in this world. As the fight goes on he gains enough power to manifest one of his avatars and eventually can manifest both. The heroes are in a position they can’t win this fight because their opponent is a literal god but at the same time showing any weakness will result in their deaths because their opponent keeps increasing in power. We didn’t even win this battle Godcat let the earth live to honor the party’s ability to stand against his strength as mortals. Godcat finally understood why his people submit themselves to ally with humanity. If he has such trouble killing 4 of them his people stood no chance.

Epic Godcat is brutal. Tried going at it with a lvl 36 party, thinking it was good enough of I was careful, then got insta-wiped. Problem I played on a really laggy browser, so grinding the dragon fight before the end was super tedious, I've still yet to accomplish it. Got all the other achievements except for reaching lvl 40, completing the bestiary, and I think one other. (On Kongregate anyway, I don't own it on Steam.)

Beating Godcat on epic for my 3rd playthrough was all I needed for 100%, THis song was my last 15 minutes of glory before wiping Godcat from existence. Praise Phyrnna for the motivation for 100%ing EBF4. I shall attempt BH2 when the steam release comes.

i find it harder to do godcat on normal mode than on epic mode because less limit breaks. But seriously if you use a good strategy godcat is easy af.

Still my favorite. It has everything I like in a song: Piano, choral chanting, pipe organ, violin, and a final boss-like feel to it!

Godcat was the one boss that made me utilize the mechanic of "change equipment mid battle."
Also had to grind to level 34 and still had a hard time on epic. Is it legal for a boss to kill your whole party in one hit on the first turn even when you are buffed? I feel a long lost part of my mind was back when I got one of them down at wave 6.
The theme also kills. It gets epic and more epic and even more epic. My favorite part is 4:40.

Once a foe is over level 32ish, the Epic difficulty modifier gets doubled. Godcat is always at level 33.

he will send some of his servants and steal the other character's power, except from our heroes but 1 player will be added, his class would be a beast tamer and he is powerful than Akron, but 1 day, 1 of Akron's servant find the victim and that would be the great move to steal the power of the beast tamer, then when the beast tamer began to battle the servant, the servant calls all of the Akron's servant and defeated the beast tamer, but suddenly the beast tamer's best partner unleashes and takes his tamer far away to the servants (the beast tamer should be injured), the beast tamer's best partner see's our hero (which is Matt, Natalie, Lance, Anna, and NoLegs) where they camped out at night and bring his tamer to them but the beast tamer's best partner didn't showed up from our heroes and goes up to the sky and seeing them what are they doing to the beast tamer (if they got a high connections between old players and new player, the beast tamer will show itself in a right time) then Natalie and Anna cured the beast tamer and take them some rest, then the beast tamer forgotten everything except his name and the deity, Akron.

As much as I love The Devourer as a final boss for EBF5, I can't deny feeling like Godcat had more weight to them, in good part because of the buildup from meeting them in the early game.

He announced a few weeks ago that it was 10% done, I know that he's finished character animations, is working on enemies ( he must have around 85 by now) andis working on some game mecanics! It's coming along great and I'm as hyped as everyone else!

In my eyes, it really doesn't matter if the song is non-melodic or whatever other shit you have to say about it, it does the job right, it sounds good, and that's what matters to me and many other people
I compare it to Turquoise's Cinis Cinerem. Dokuro went through so much to make SBC. Ennway did it for fun.

Personally, I’d say maybe Asriel because he has multiversal striking force and temporal manipulation abilities; on the other hand, Godcat is also pretty fucking strong, and like Asriel, she too has infinite defense. Admittedly, Godcat *could* also have temporal manipulation abilities, fourth-wall awareness, and multiversal control… it has been a while since I’ve played, to be fair. Thing I love about this game is godcat is continually increasing in power as the jewels fuel him restoring him to his god like strength.
At first he can only manifest himself for a few moments.
Than towards the end of the game he gains enough power to permanently stay in this world.
As the fight goes on he gains enough power to manifest one of his avatars and eventually can manifest both.
The heroes are in a position they can’t win this fight because their opponent is a literal god but at the same time showing any weakness will result in their deaths because their opponent keeps increasing in power.
We didn’t even win this battle Godcat let the earth live to honor the party’s ability to stand against his strength as mortals.
Godcat finally understood why his people submit themselves to ally with humanity.
If he has such trouble killing 4 of them his people stood no chance.

Epic Godcat is brutal. Tried going at it with a lvl 36 party, thinking it was good enough of I was careful, then got insta-wiped. Problem I played on a really laggy browser, so grinding the dragon fight before the end was super tedious, I've still yet to accomplish it. Got all the other achievements except for reaching lvl 40, completing the bestiary, and I think one other. (On Kongregate anyway, I don't own it on Steam.)
