T stops and F stops are almost interchangeable. It's just that T is a more accurate than F. So a T stop is closer to the actual aperture. T is what professional cinematographers use because they need better accuracy.
Clickless aperture means that your audience won't see the "clicks" with a standard lens you would see any time you changed the aperture in terms of the amount of light. You would literally see the amount of light change, and the focus change. A clickless aperture ring especially with a rack (or otherwise known as follow focus) allows you to "rack" focus. When you're focusing manually if you're good at it, you can shift the focus as you see in professional videos from subject to subject, or alternatively follow someone in and out of a scene.
Wide angle lenses are great, except you have to be able to see what I like to call "scenes" in the world rather than frames. The key to ultra wide angles is that they allow you to create more by setting what I like to call the stage... It's more like putting all the pieces on a chess board. Akira Kurosowa is a good person to study, as is Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan that has expansive scenes where you're putting everything you need for the scene out on the table... There is a fancy name for it called Mise en Scène... But whatever...
The purpose of the wide angle is really "you set em up, I'll knock it down." It's an approach that is meant to frame everything you need and then you use your close up for your knock down shot. One creates the story, the other sells the message. I like movies like Philadelphia, with Tom Hanks and Denzel Washington in it. The movie really shows the use of close ups, or even dutch angles for creating drama and visual expression. But in essence the close up is the framing shot.
You use your wide angle to set the stage, you use your close up to express what you want that frame to eventually say. The opening scene of Christopher Nolan and Wally Pfister's Dark Knight is probably the best example I can think of off the top of my head, so I use it often, it starts with a wide street, people milling around in the background, but the back of a person, focused on a mask. It creates the narrative, we all can be Jokers in some way, opens up to an even wider scene, before closing in on the robbery and using the close ups for the various robbers, and the bank manager to express the fear and insanity of it all.
I wouldn't say resources are the issue. As with everything, study the grand masters of cinema and see what you like from it then develop your own style.
As to getting "everything" in. It's the wrong way to think about it. You really have to use your framing guides to start with like your leading lines, rule of thirds and Fibonacci principles about spirals. If you use your rules correctly you will get better frames. You can also use your framing markers that draws up the rectangles on your DSLRs screen for the rule of thirds, but just remember it's a guide not the rules. Rules are meant to be broken, create statements, oddities, absurdities, that have funny technical names like juxtaposition... But hey whatever, it's not about burying people in technical terms.

I know less than nothing about video, but There’s a great YT channel by Mark Holtze featuring vintage lenses adapted and used for video. He’s had many (like the Helios 44-2) rehoused for video. He’s also a Takumar fan as well. If you don’t already know of him it’s worth checking out.

This lens work so well with my Panasonic S5. I just jump into aps-c mode, and I have an 18mm amazing lens that was so reasonably priced. I'm shooting a feature film right now, and I needed a wider lens for some shots that I'm capturing of bridges all over the New York City area, and I've been so happy with this choice. And YES and AMEN to doing more narrative work on RUclips, I totally agree, and I look forward to seeing what you guys do. I'm doing the same thing at my channel. Thanks so much for sharing.

There’s a super interesting crossover between film photography and cinematography, since many cinematographers swear by using vintage photography lenses for video! There are countless sets of vintage photography primes that have been rehoused into cine lens housings with standard focus gearing and de-clicked apertures. I do a good bit of video and of all the lenses in my kit my Nikkor 50mm 1.4 pre-ai easily gets the most use, even more than my modern cine-specific glass.

T/stop is the same concept as f/stop but caters for glass transmission. Two lenses with the same f/stop might theoretically have similar brightness but one of them might more or thicker glass elements and just be a little darker when actually transmitting light. For stills we adjust for that in post when switching lenses - in movies, it's more cumbersome to do that. HTH

F stops measure the aperture opening. T stops measure the light that ultimately makes it to the back of the lens and into the film or sensor.

I have the 25mm, 35mm, & 50mm T1.05 Vision lenses & LOVE them for video work when I want a vintage look with modern glass & housing. I too prefer to shoot longer lenses with more compression so the 12mm will also be a welcome challenge to shoot once I acquire one.

I have both the 7 Artisans 12mm cine lens and a classic, vintage Carl Zeiss 18mm F/4.0 Contax Full Frame Distagon. The latter costs around $5-600 for a 50 year old lens. They offer the same angle of view when the Zeiss is adapted to APSC/Super 35 via a Speed Booster. Is there a noticable difference? Maybe but I can't see it. The T2.9 cinema lens has a front element that does not rotate - essential for my matte box - and built in focus gears - essential for my follow focus wheel so bottom line is, these lenses offer exceptional value for money.

Personally, I’m not one for eye candy style RUclips videos. I prefer to listen to artists describe their processes and thoughts and stories behind their iconic images. If you want to get more serious into the cinematography aspect, I would recommend watching videos on directors and DPs regarding how they create films, scripting, story boarding, blocking, lighting, camera movements, and color grading.

A F-Stop is only calculated and only on paper. The reality never matches the theory on paper.
A T-Stop is measured and there is proof of physics. 100% light goes into one end and you will get at the mount end a T-Stop of 1.5 for instance.
This is just very simple explained.

Follow focus rig or not, what would really help your videos is any kind of crane or glide cam. Or tripod for static shots. While IBIS in your X-T4 might help, it's not the holly cow, course you still have visible jitter in the footage. Even in slow mo shots. Just saying...
